Worst experience working with a contractor we have ever had. Lack of communication was astounding. Reached out to start the project on our tiny front lawn in June/July. Didn't start planting until mid October. Was told there were 5 jobs in front of ours. Ignored photos of exactly what we wanted. Finish product is passable at best. Would not recommend.

Great job. At the first meeting, Ron had his sketch pad and drew us a picture of what it would look like. Good communication throughout. All the odds and ends were wrapped up in a timely manner.

This has been our first year working with Narrow Lane and we have been very pleased. They have been reliable and a pleasure to work with. Ron the owner is always responsive and helpful and his team is knowledgable, hard working and professional.

Narrow Lane Landscaping are great! They are a family business and do a terrific job. I’ve been with them for years and am disabled and rely on them to get my aide into my house and me out by 6:30 a.m. (early in the morning!). I have had the same crew for years so they know what is important to me in terms of priorities, etc. I have severe osteoporosis and need to walk every day so they need to get the snow off down to the pavement and they do. Ron and his crew are the best in the business, in my view. Their work is superb and efficient, and the front office couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Highest marks.

Workmen were courteous and diligent. Took a few days, as planned. Wall is now a year old with no problems.

We are very happy with the work Ron and his team provided at our home. The work was high-quality, and the final product came out beautifully. We spent 2 years renovating our house leaving our yard a giant mud puddle. Over the course of the winter, we worked with Ron to develop the landscaping plan. In the spring, his team re-leveled the entire lot, installed 2 patios with pavers, sod, a fence, prepped for a shed and put in a new asphalt driveway and vegetation. We are very happy with the final product.

I have worked with over a dozen A-rated companies on Angie's List, and the Narrow Lane is my favorite. We have worked with them consistently for over 5 years. They are reliable, diligent, and very talented. I have spoken many times with the crew members and know that the Narrow Lane pays fair wages and respects all labor and finance laws. Here is a story: when heavy snow tipped one of our giant arborvitae over, the snowplow crew noticed. Before we even asked for help, the owner of the Narrow Lane was on site to assess the problem. His crew righted the tree immediately and saved its root system, also saving us a lot of money. The company has the intimacy of a small business, but I have been surprised by the breadth of their capabilities. They have a landscape architect with decades of experience. Many of the team members have a deep knowledge of botany. They have heavy equipment and take care of stonework and landscape lighting. If you hire the Narrow Lane for snow removal, the operations director will send you an email before EVERY winter storm discussing the forecast and the company's plan for your property. You can call or email them at any time to modify the plan based on your needs, for example, your work schedule. In summary, the Narrow Lane is a high-performing company that adheres to its principles and will take very good care of you and your property!

We started using these guys over the summer. Their work is professional, thorough and always on time. The owner is very personable and seems committed to keeping his customers happy. Best landscape experience I've had in the Boston area to date.

excellent job. Leave the site well cleaned off. Particularly appreciate their communications as each storm is different. They tell you when they will be plowing. They customize their service in terms of how much snowfall you will tolerate without their coming, whether or not to spread ice melter etc.

After multiple calls and attempts to reach the company I gave up. At one point I did speak to a manager at the home office but they never called me back.

Scheduled for someone to come on Mon 6/17. He claimed, "(he) thought it was for Tue" (despite the email confirming the Mon @ 6pm appointment) and came a day later. Was expecting an estimate by end of that week. Nothing. Called over the weekend and left a message requesting an estimate and call back. Nothing. So unprofessional. So unacceptable.

Ultimately, the decision was made to retain more of a horticultural service in order to address removal of some invasive plants and blight issues with fruit trees in the yard. With that said, these folks were prompt in getting back to me right away, and I met with a gentleman named Steve. He was so friendly, helpful, thorough, knowledgeable and very professional. It is evident that they really care about what they do! Honestly, they would be my choice for maintenance services, so I will very likely reach out to them again in the future once the plant issues are resolved.

We have used multiple different companies for both our routine yard work (mowing, mulching, clean-ups) and snow removal over the 20+ years we have lived in Newton. After frustration with our last vendor, I was referred to Narrow Lane by a colleague at work -- and have been extremely happy over the past several years. They are efficient and responsible, fully meeting our expectations for the routine care. The place where they are exceptional is for the snow removal: they are timely, effective, careful. Regular emails come out in advance of any storm with the planned schedule and they live up to the schedule. I have already recommended them to several colleagues, appreciating that someone else steered me in their direction.

SIgned a snow plowing contract with them for the winter season Company appears to be organized but in fact they were very disorganized. They did not always show up. When they did, it was often not till very late in the evening. Part of the problem was that we were inadvertently left off of the routing sheets, but for some reason, it was hard to get this problem identified and corrected. By the end of the season there were instances were they didn't plow but I was invoiced and other instances where they plowed but I wasn't. It was unclear whether I had been overcharged (or possibly undercharged). I tried to contact them twice by email and once by phone to reconcile dates they actually plowed and charges, but they never got back to me.

They did a great job, consistent with their estimate, and installed a temporary irrigation system to insure it all survived our dry summer at an extra (and worthwhile) cost. They used a Bobcat that required them to remove and put back some plants, and they protected the grass with plywood sheets.

Ron, Nick, and their team were great to work with. We had a difficult situation with a neighbor that could have been much worse if Nick hadn't handled it with such professionalism. Each of the other employees we spoke with were friendly and respectful, even when our neighbors behavior bordered on harassment. As a result of their hard work and a lot of patience we have a beautiful, functional yard and maintained a cordial relationship with the neighbor.

I am impressed with the quality of service provided us by Narrow Lane Landscaping. Narrow Lane worked with our small condominium association to develop a pleasing front yard landscape design and they readily provided us with a revised design when our condominium budget was reduced. All scheduling was spelled out in advance and delivered as promised and the firm was very good in responding to client requests and questions within 24 hours. After our Landscape design was installed, Narrow Lane initiated follow up contact with our Association 12 weeks following the completion of work and replaced a plant that had died at not additional cost to us.

Extremely well. The crew were very professional and hardworking. The design is lovely and we can't wait to begin phase 2. I had a slight problem learning how to program the irrigation system but Nick, the project manager, corrected the problem.

Jim and crew have been prompt and responsive. Yard never looked better.
