The Narrow Lane Landscape Company

We've worked with 4 or 5 other landscaping companies over the years, and they were ok. But Narrow Lane is in a completely different class. All the work was done promptly and efficiently, and the quality was outstanding. The extension of the paver walkway looks better than the original, and addition of the cobble border around the pebbled area makes a real difference to finished look of the yard. I especially appreciated extra touches: we had put in our own stone border where they put the cobbles, and rather than just dispose of the stones, they used them else where to prevent erosion. We were so pleased with the work, that we signed up for regular yard maintenance with them.

The work was done efficiently and professionally. I plan on signing a contract with them to continue to maintain the yard.

Excellent they were timely, professional and did quality work at a fair price. I have received numerous positive comments from neighbors. I plan to use there maintenance services on a go forward basis.

So the good first, Ron was super nice on the phone, very clear, and very professional. He called me within 48 hours of my initial request. The initial email response was very quick as well. The reason for the bad grade? Although I saw in their reviews, with at least one other customer, that they give free estimates/quotes upon the initial consultation, when I spoke to Ron, he told me otherwise. He said they normally have initial planning appointments for landscaping work that would run a few hundred dollars on my part. I am not sure if this is a common practice in the landscaping field, or a particular policy of this company, but it was not in my budget and honestly caught me by surprise. If this turns out to be a normal practice, I will update my review accordingly.

Well overall. They come as scheduled. Office staff is friendly and responsive to questions. They have mowed over some small flower beds a couple of times. They do a nice job overall for a fair price.

Good about contacting with e-mail ahead of storms. Not bad winter so no experience with big snow.

Job took approximately 3 weeks for a full overhaul of our front and back yards. Performed all of the necessary demolition (removed old bushes/plants, decayed fences, loose stone retaining wall) over the first couple days. When unforeseen overages occurred, such as repaired rotten wood on the house so the deck couple be attached or shifting and already installed section of the fence based on neighbor request, he was more then willing to swallow the costs and keep everyone happy. There was a delay of a few weeks to get the gates installed on the fences and deck but that was due to issues with the fabricator and not this contractor. While the job was more then I was hoping to spend, I'm extremely happy with the end result.

Narrow Lane always does a great job plowing snow and then spreading sand & salt (for an extra fee that we feel is worthwhile).

Excellent work. Lawn well maintained on a regular basis. communications with the office are prompt and professional. Will continue to use and would recommend to others. Definitely not the cheapest quote I got, but have been more than satisfied with the work and service. Note: $50 cost listed above is per mowing job per week. There were additional fees (obviously much higher for seeding, mulching, aeration, etc - usually ran a couple of hundred for each activity). Total cost is much over the course of the year would be summative of all this.

Fantastic work! Ron and his team are the most professional home contractors I have worked with in years. We completed a full renovation of our home and outside property, and The Narrow Lane was by far the best contractor we worked with. They did everything they said they would do and when things needed to fix, they addressed them quickly and professionally. I highly recommend The Narrow Lane.

Went well but it took a lot longer than expected and was very pricy. They are very expensive but provide a good product.

We've been using The Narrow Lane for about 2 years and have been very happy with the quality of work, their responsiveness and their high level of customer service. Our yard is maintained weekly and looks great all the time. They take the initiative to take care of things like trimming and debris removal even before I ask. They repaired my stone stairs and they look great...just like new. Narrow Lane also handles snow removal and did a great job during the worst storms last year. They even offered extra clean out service once the primary "emergency" snow removal was over. I've been very happy with their work year round.

We were last on the list. WOuld wait two days to get plowed out. Charged by the inch, not the number of time they came. Didn't do a great job on the walkway shovel work.

Ron at the Narrow Lane was very easy to work with. He was committed to a finished product that we would be happy with. The work on the stone wall was beautiful. Everything ran smoothly except for the installation of the fence. There were some permitting issues with the size of the fence we wanted, but Ron partnered with us, even attending a meeting at City Hall, and ultimately came up with a solution that satisfied us and met the city's restrictions. We have now been living with our new yard for a year and love it, spending more time outdoors than we ever used to. We use Narrow Lane for ongoing maintenance on the yard and are also happy with their regular service.

There were mixups with phone calls and scheduling a visit but when they arrived they were VERY professional and knowledgable. However, they require a minimum contract that was beyond our needs. We were looking for fall and spring cleanup and a bit more. I'm sure they are excellent. They are for someone who wants consistent maintenance.

We felt that we wanted to have them come to the house and give us their ideas about a plan and to then give us an estimate for their work if we liked their ideas. We tend to get a few (at least 3) estimates on most jobs for which we hire a contractor. We did not fell comfortable with their systems and procedures, so we did not consider them. I would be willing to bet that they do very good work, but I will never know.

Narrow Lane is reliable and responsive. We like them!

Ron and his team were excellent to work with from start to finish. We started working with Ron in the fall of 2014 on a landscape design plan, and then the work was actual done in early June 2015. Through the many months, it was an iterative process with swapping out different plants and trees until we were happy with the design. The work began on a Tuesday and the project was completed by Saturday! We were amazed at how quickly and effectively the crew worked to remove all of our existing grass in the backyard, put down a bluestone pathway, plant quite a few trees, shrubs, and flowers, lay down sod and clean up. The crew worked tirelessly through some hot days to complete the work, and were always courteous to us and our property. Ron was onsite many times through the week to oversee the work and to check in with us to make sure we were happy with the placement of trees and plants. There have been a few adjustments that we have needed to make to the sprinklers, which Ron has been helpful with. The work has truly transformed our yard and we're so pleased that we chose to work with the Narrow Lane - would definitely recommend and work with again!

They do a monthly service for us. They do great work. Everybody is great to work with. They are prompt. They do everything for us. We're not there. But the experience has been great. I know that the price is reasonable.

Ron did an excellent job- courteous, professional, and good at what he does. Very patient, as we changed plans several times, yet he met and far exceeded our expectations. His crew was outstanding- these guys know what they are doing. Installed a one ton boulder like it was nothing, then oriented it to our exact instructions. You should use them.

We are very pleased that we went with Ron and The Narrow Lane, though their estimate was a bit higher than the others we received we chose Narrow Lane because of their Angie's list rating and the prompt and profssianl interactions I had with Ron. The Narrow Lane arrived on Saturday morning as scheduled, spending a few hours prepping both the front and back yards, the staff were quick effiecinet and professional. They cleaned up thoroughly, leaving the work site in much better shape than they found it. The crew returned early the following Monday and installed a beautiful lush green carpet. We would definatley recommend The Narrow Lane and will use them again in the future for any of our landscape needs.

We contacted Ron Goode, owner of Narrow Lane, after reading positive reviews on Angie's List. Our front and back yards, around 1/2 acre, needed complete overhaul. The front walk and driveway were in bad condition and needed redoing and our property , which never had much landscaping, needed to be completely redesigned. Over the course of several months Ron worked with us on, and refined, a wonderful design, including hardscaping and landscaping. The work was done over the course of the year; hardscaping in the fall, and all the planting implemented this spring. Considering the magnitude of the job, all this work could have been so disruptive to our everyday life, but Ron and his workers were so efficient and thoughtful that the inconvenience was minimal. We are very happy with our experience working with Narrow Lane and think the results are spectacular. Ron was always professional and available to answer questions and resolve problems. Special thanks to German and Nery, exceptionally skilled workers who seem able to do just about anything having to do with landscaping.

Professionalism and customer service are the first things that come to mind when describing my experience with Ron and The Narrow Lane Landscape Company. I hired Narrow Lane to do a backyard renovation; remove stumps, grade, loam, seed + hydro-seed and plant 20+ Giant Arborvitae?s along a back hill. Throughout the process Ron was communicative about the schedule and providing updates on expectations. Even weeks after the project was completed Ron was following up to ensure my complete satisfaction and that the grass/arborvitae?s were coming along as expected. The outcome of the work is terrific with a backyard that is an oasis compared to what was there before Ron and team worked on it. If you?re looking for a Nordstrom/Four Season?s like professionalism/customer service experience, but at a Target like price then consider the Narrow Lane. I?m glad I did.

Overall the quality of the work is wonderful! Ron's creativity and his team's efficiency was amazing. The project was pretty big, or so we thought, and he had it completed in under 2 weeks. He helped us right from the beginning to create an overall plan for our yard--our perfect vision. We changed this quite frequently, and Ron was patient and extremely helpful with trying to maximize the beautify of the yard without exceeding our budget. He would constantly make suggestions and we trusted him without a doubt. Our project started with landscape grading. Ron understood that our main premise was to make the yard as flat as possible so we could be out there on the lawn, playing games, etc. His team brought in truck loads of dirt and did a great job. Next, we wanted a boundary of trees (evergreens) and flowering trees dotted throughout the yard. Again, he was great at making suggestions but also allowing us to add things in as the job progressed. For example, we added a Magnolia tree in the last week of the project, and he got the tree priced, picked up, and planted within 24 hours! Lastly, he added irrigation and a system that is automated. Hydroseed was done as the last step. That was 2 weeks ago and we already have 2 inches of beautiful baby grass growing! Such a transformation to see our yard go from dirt to green so quickly. Ron also comes to the house to check on everything. There was a slight issue with one of the sprinkler heads--it had been over watering a portion of the yard and the grass wasn't growing due to over saturation. He immediately took notice, capped the sprinkler head, and put more hydro seed down. Great to have someone always focused and dedicated to the job. We will certainly be using him as we add more little projects here and there. My neighbors have already come to us asking who did our landscaping because they want to use the same company. Excellent work and a beautiful job...we are beyond pleased and can't wait to work with Ron more as our yard continues to blossom.
