I am both an experienced Professional Organizer and Personal Assistant. I have been working for over 19 years with individuals, families and small offices. I offer a wide array of services from decluttering homes; organizing papers and creating filing systems; and overseeing both small and large renovations and projects. As a Personal Assistant I can pay your monthly bills, do your daily errands, accompany you to appointments and assist with your individual needs. I also provide Companionship Care for seniors and those in need.

Petra was superb. Reliable and trustworthy. She shows up on time, and completes work in an efficient and pleasant manner. She is very directive as to things we can get rid of that contribute to the clutter, and excellent at organizing what remains so that we know where it is and can find it easily. In addition, she is a wonderful resource as to other professionals who can be of service. She noticed while organizing my office that my computer was not working properly, referred me to a computer pro who arrived within a few days and got all 4 computers in our home working flawlessly. Not only did she organize our garage, but had someone come the same day to cart off all of the stuff we got rid of. Life is easier after finding Petra. She takes charge and gets the job done. Hire her! We're glad we did.

Petra is amazing. She is incredibly reliable, dedicated, positive, upbeat and engaged. She gives way more than 100% to her clients. She is completely trustworthy and we felt totally safe with having Mom in her care. She is able to take initiative and step in when needed. She often called to check in on Mom even when she was not working. If anything, sometimes, I had to ask her to pull back a bit as she so much wants to take care of her clients. As Mom needed more time and coverage, we added a caregiver from a healthcare agency to fill-in time when Petra was not able to work as she had other pre-existing clients. We saw Petra as a personal assistant who has a concierge type business and did not initially hire her as a caregiver. Her fees are twice what agencies charge for homehealth type caregivers but they are totally in line with the type of concierge service that she can provide. She is also so much more capable and competent than any caregiver that we hired from the agency and there were several over a two year period. We felt very blessed to have found Petra and have her in Mom's life. Mom also viewed her as friend and not as someone who was getting paid to take care of her. I am happy to highly recommend Petra for future work.
Description of Work: My Mom was developing dementia and was needing some assistance. We hired Petra as the first person to get some help in the house with driving and meal prep. Over time, she assisted in some minor daily healthcare needs, food planning and meal preparation, everyday errands and grocery shopping, escorting Mom to doctor's appointments, daily home organizing, and ultimately helping Mom move out of her home of 58 years. Petra is incredibly organized in all areas including maintaining a large desk format calendar with all of Mom's activities, appointments, birthday reminders, etc to help keep Mom aware and focused on what was upcoming in her life.

Petra is very professional and a delightful person. It was a pleasure to spend time with her. She was always very punctual and reliable. The quality of the work she did herself (the small paining projects) was excellent. I would highly recommend her.
Description of Work: We needed a lot of work done on our home including some big jobs and several smaller jobs. Petra did many of the smaller jobs herself and helped us find contractors for the bigger jobs. She painted my island butcher block table and refinished the top and she painted a book shelving unit. She also painted a bench for me and helped find a professional service to reupholster the cushion. She worked with me to get a sense of our style by sending me some websites and asking me to let her know what I liked. Using this information, she helped with decorating suggestions and suggestions for how to make things function better in our home. One of the most invaluable things she did was to help us find various contractors for painting, floor refinishing, roofing work, and electrical. She found 3 bids for all jobs and met the contractors at our house to get the bid. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs and work long days. Just trying to get someone to come out to the house for a bid was a struggle for us (missed calls, no shows, etc.) To have someone take care of all of this for us was well worth the money we paid. Also, we were very happy with the people she found to do the work.

Description of Work: Petra spent an entire day helping me clean and organize my garage. She was able to visualize the finished state and she talked me through the process to ensure that her plan was inline with my goals. Once that was established, she worked tirelessly along-side of me: hefting, sorting, tossing, and cleaning. Very impressed.

Petra has been a true pleasure to work with. She is incredibly professional, personable and detail-oriented. Having moved into a new home, she helped me to organize my closets and clothes drawers, book shelves, kitchen cupboards and drawers, etc. She was a huge help in getting me feeling organized and caught up setting up my house. In addition, Petra helped find or oversee a number of home repairs for me- electrical work, HVAC work, carpentry, roofing, fireplace, etc. She found very good vendors to provide the work or assisted with the ones I chose. On days that I couldn't get away, Petra would be at my house to greet the vendors, oversee their work, and frequently touch base with me regarding their progress and quality. Petra really made my life easier when I simply couldn't be at home to deal with all the work being done. In addition, when I had a number of house guests to stay, Petra was available to do shopping and set up the house in preparation for their arrival. What a wonderful and thorough resource when you're too busy to do it yourself!

Description of Work: Petra is wonderful. My husband and I have used her services several times for general de-cluttering in our home. We are moving out of the country and Petra has been helping us with many many things, including supervising a bathroom renovation while we were on vacations, contacting a real estate agent for renting our house, etc. She has been very helpful and will continue to work with her in the future. Petra was always punctual and professional. She has a talent for being able to make order. The best part about working with her is her cheerful attitude. She made the work seem easy and that moved the biggest stumbling block out of the way.
Description of Work: Petra helped me re-organize furniture to maximize storage and tuck much of it out of sight. She helped sort and file papers as well as develop a system for managing my mother's bills and clothes. (Mother who is in a nursing home.)

I hired Petra to work for my parents 6 years ago and she was totally amazing, helping them manage their household in terms of organizational projects, keeping on top of bills and mail, helping with grocery and gift shopping, light cleaning, laundry, and recently managing a huge move on short notice. She has also helped me around the house with organizing, building furniture, etc. In addition to being good at what she does, she is very easy to have around. I have only the best things to say about Petra.

Petra always had a very high standard for the project at hand, treating the work as if it were in her own home. She is an excellent communicator -- always asking a clarifying question, if needed, to make sure that the project is done just right. She is also just a rock solid person -- caring, trustworthy, professional, and on time.
Description of Work: Petra worked with me and my family on a regular basis for 2+ years. We all looked forward to our "Petra days" where many of nagging house projects would get done -- from straightening up, to organizing a closet, to assembling a new piece of furniture.

Description of Work: Between 2005 and March 2009 Petra has performed many tasks well--first for me and my wife when she was alive, and then for me alone since March 2009 when Susan died. She came to us on a good referral as a personal care provider when my wife had a dementing illness that left her progressively unable to care for herself. Petra was wonderful both at performing the physical tasks that are required, and psychologically as well. She bonded with my wife, and they cared deeply for each other. She lightened the burden of Susan's last years both for her and for me. I am in good health, continue to work and lead a full life and I have retained Petra since as a woman-Friday, or pluripotential assistant, working one day each week. She has very good sense and can do just about anything you ask. Here is a partial list: House cleaning; neatens up any room; personal laundry, change bed; Interior painting--has painted six of my eight rooms--beautiful work. Suggests color schemes, etc. Mows lawn; runs any errand. Telephones or deals with any service provider (or similar) with whom I need to deal; sits on hold as needed. Personally, she is a pleasure to deal with at all times. She is unfailingly pleasant; works hard without supervision; scrupulously honest; open to suggestions.
