They were on time -- even arriving in Manhattan on time (which is more like a miracle) | |The lead and his support crew were professional and always engaged. By the time they left my NYC apartment, the basics were in place and set up beautifully. | |There price was about half of other estimates. |And others needed to bundle this small move with others or schedule delivery days out when it worked for their schedule | |Oscars was so easy to work with compared to others that I was a little bit skeptical in planning but they proved true to their promises in practice | |I can't recommend Oscar's high enough!

Description of Work: Went pretty well. they had to lift a couch, large, up to the second floor condo. They got it up perfectly. I don't give out A's easily because those are reserved for above and beyond scenarios. This company provides a very high quality of service and I would recommned them to anyone.

Description of Work: Moved quite a bit into my studio on the 6th floor. Very happy with the service, and very happy with the people who worked on it all. I would use these guys again, and refer them to anyone who is looking for some help.

Description of Work: Oscar's moved us from a second floor condo in Waltham to a 2-floor house on Cape Cod on a very hot day. From the initial phone conversation with Alan to get an estimate and schedule a date, to the delivery and placement of our belongings, everything went better than expected. The estimate was right on and their 4-person team was amazing. They were very fast, efficient, and careful. They wrapped all of our furniture carefully to prevent damage. Everything arrived intact and in perfect condition. At the Cape house we asked the crew to move a couple of very heavy items from our garage to the cellar, and a heavy king size memory foam mattress from the first floor to the second floor. They moved these without any complaint or hesitation. These guys were great, very accommodating and very personable, a delight to work with. Even though it was extremely hot, they took no breaks and worked very fast. I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality service.

Description of Work: Oscar's provided moving service for our out-of-state move over two days. The first day was spent loading and the second day spent unloading and setting up furniture in another state. We were pleased with the service provided from beginning to end. The movers worked quickly and efficiently with concern and care for our furniture and walls. There were no mishaps, and although we are not completely unpacked as yet, I don't believe there were any broken items, such as dishes. There were several large items, such as an outdoor basketball hoop and pool table which were not a problem. The movers were easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. One employee acted as the foreman of the job giving direction to others. They were all skillful at disassembling and reassembling furniture and cheerfully moved pieces in the new location when asked. Oscar's offered the lowest price of the 3 estimates we received for the move and the service was excellent.

Description of Work: Nothing was damaged, but there were a lot of storage related furnishings that were put in a storage area when they should've gone into the house.

Description of Work: These guys were awesome. They took good care of our possessions and were very professional. They ran late due to a truck issue that they had, but finished in half the time that they estimated. In addition to graciously arranging and re-arranging our furniture as per our requests, they also helped move around bedroom furniture that was already there. They were also very responsive while setting up the move and the price was very reasonable.

Description of Work: Angie's list failed us miserably here. We hired Oscar's, from a short list we pulled from Angie's, to empty and refill our house during a major renovation. They were okay during the emptying phase, though they missed a few spots (one entire closet was left full). It wasn't a big deal since our belongings were being stored on-site. We packed them ourselves and Oscar's gave us a small refund. Once the house was done, though, things went south. They put holes in the walls while moving furniture back in. They broke screens in our porch. Scratched the floors in a number of places. The entire house was new, and they treated it like it was about to be torn down. I've never seen movers who don't show up with carpets to protect the floors. And they damaged a bunch of our belongings. The owner told us we should expect things like this to happen during a move. Ultimately, they gave us a pretty large refund on the move-in bill, but we only after we sent them an itemized bill from our builder for all the damage they'd done. Based on the owner's attitude while reviewing all the damage, I will NEVER use Oscar's again.

Description of Work: I contracted to have my household moved from a Back Bay garden-level condo to a new second-floor condo in New Hampshire - including packing of my kitchen and dining room(china/crystal)packed. The move also included one night's storage before delivery. The move went like clockwork - there were no surprises. The cost was exactly as they estimated. Boxes and packing materials were delivered on time and the price was as agreed. Also as agreed, two movers came to do the packing and to move out (2 days). Three men came to do the delivery (unpacking). They were courteous, respectful, and efficient - there was not a moment of wasted time. The only casualty was a floor lamp that was not properly protected in transit. The loss was satisfactorily compensated without a hassle. I highly recommend this mover - I would use them again if I were still in the area.
