In addition to being 1.5 hours late, the crew unpacked at my new place in a very haphazard and rushed manner, damaging two pieces of furntiture, scratching new hardwood floors in multiple places, and generally creating a mess. However, most offensive in the process was 2 very large framed portraits that were not delivered. Two weeks later after numerous phone calls, Oscar's returned the portraits, which were apparently "left on the truck". The portraits were badly scratched, and yet despite having failed to deliver my items, maintaining my possessions for 2 weeks without contacting me, and damanging the pictures in the process, Oscar's management was very difficult to deal with and ultimately failed to remed the situation. A decent crew of movers, but a very unprofessional management team.

On the day of the move, two men arrived on time and ready to work. They moved about 50 boxes filled with books. Although the load was hard and the weather was hot and humid, they kept moving without hesitation. Hard workers! Definitely will hire Oscar's Moving in the future.

I could not have wished for a more flawless moving experience. Obidio's team (four including him) were on time, polite, careful. All furniture, per my request, was wrapped in laundered blankets. That ensured that nothing got scratched. I also realized that it ensured that no marks were left on the walls when they accidentally touched them. Brilliant. I have never seen a crew work so hard and fast. They tracked all my heavy furtniture to the third floor without complaint. I can only recommend them!I

Two movers from Oscar's arrived on time and moved everything we asked them to. They were courteous and professional - all business! I hope I never have to move again, but should I need them I would call again in an instant and strongly recommend them to any friends that are moving and in need of their services. The stairs in our house, like many in Watertown and other urban areas, are confining and twist around. They managed to move even very challenging objects like a large sofa and armoire without a scratch. No damage at all to our newly refinished floors or woodwork in the new apartment. We are very satisfied.

The two strong and friendly men arrived right on time and carefully, professionally moved all of the pieces, making it look very easy. At both ends of the move there were stairs and tight corners, but again, the experience and professional manner showed. My daughter was impressed with their demeanor, as well, and all of the furniture arrived in great condition. I would use these movers again without any concerns. .

Easy move. The movers showed up on time and moved quickly. They were professional and careful with all of our stuff. The entire move was under 3.5 hours and met Oscar's minimum charge. I would definitely use again if i had to move. The price was fair for moving and I recommend this company to anyone searching for a professional moving experience.

Very responsive. Provided an accurate quotation. Arrived on time and took care of our goods. Have utilized the more traditional larger companies in the past through company relocations which on this occassion wanted to charge twice as much. Oscars performed at least as well if not better and were very competitively priced. Would definitely recommend and use again.

My experience with them was great. They came on time, did what they said they were going to do and charged me what they said they were going to charge. I chose them because of their reviews on Angie?s List. I had checked another provider, but he was far more expensive than them. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The entire move took 8 hours. The movers called me about 15 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive. They could not find the house I think they may have put the wrong city Cambridge instead of Someville in their gps. They were nearby in H Square. I gave them directions and they arrived promptly after that. They got right to work. These 3 men worked very hard, were very friendly and accomodating. They had to go up and down the stairs and never took a break even at my prompting. They took great care with my furniture that I wanted wrapped. They came with ample supplies of blankets, boxes and bubblewrap. I will say that one guy who was wrapping the furniture did go a bit overboard wrapping the blankets with tape. (After so many rolls they do charge you for tape.) He used a lot of tape for each piece wrapped. However nothing they moved was damaged in any way so I let it go. Most of my items were already boxed but there were a few things they needed to do. Mainly protecting furniture. They also did an amazing job wrapping my flat screen tv's with bubble wrap and cardboard. I was concerned about that but no need to worry. I also ended up buying 2 blankets (new cloth style) for $12 a piece. They came in handy at my new house. It took a lot longer to move everything but I attribute that to the stairs also I had 2 doors that had to be removed because they were to narrow. They could not put a ramp on the stairs so they had to move everything to the truck not easy with the snow. They never complained and I was amazed at their stamina (a couple of trips up and down the stairs and I am ready for a break) Once we arrived at the house they were very good about placing boxes/furniture where I wanted them. We also put down cardboard and blankets in a few rooms as the floors had just been refinished and I was worried about scratches. I would also recommend that you request a morning start time depending on the difficulty of your move...Originally, he wanted to schedule me for an afternoon start. I knew my move would be long and did not want to be moving in the dark of night. Maybe in summer it would not matter as much so I made sure to request morning. Also the movers had another job to start after mine (I could not even fathom that) . Mine went 2 hours longer then they planned so the other person had to wait for them. I tipped these guys well because they really earned it. I would recommend giving a good tip for movers *$35-$50 each (when they do a good job) as they do work hard. Oscar's was a wonderful experience.

Excellent, easy and straight forward..

I didn't think it was possible to move that day but company's schedule was full and we couldn't reschedule. 4 men crew came on time and they had to shovel first before things could be moved. Guys were very nice and professional and moved things quickly. They were careful with most of our stuff except a few things with minor dents, which are expected in every move. We got to our new house and they had to shovel the driveway also. Got everything into the house with the way I wanted. The leader of the crew is very polite and professional. Given the price I paid which is 50% less than other quotes I got, it was a good value.

The move went well, overall though the company left room for improvement. The initial quotes and communication with the office, which resulted in the first quote we received, didn't include some information we had provided. Once we we able to clearly convey the scope of the move, the quote came back and reflected what we had described. However, Oscar's Moving didn't provide the two size trucks we had suggested, which was to provide two 24 foot trucks. Our revision to the second quote clearly indicated that, based on our knowledge of the items to be moved, a 24 foot truck and a 15 foot truck would not be enough. They arrived on time the day of the first leg of the move with a 24 foot Oscar's truck and a 15 foot rental truck. The team they provided was excellent. They did a fantastic job dismantling the furniture such as tables and a bed. They worked quickly and carefully. Some of the furniture was very heavy and they lifted it without the aid of lifting straps but still got it all out the door without damaging anything. We had packed about 50 or 60 boxes of household items, including some fragile things. The were packed in heavy-duty boxes with bubble wrap and extra padding likes sheets. Because I sell and ship antiques, I have a lot of experience packing and I felt confident that everything would get to the final destination in one piece. However, their method of arranging the boxes on the truck could have been a bit more methodical. The boxes were placed one on top of the other so they were ten boxes high. The resulting weight on the bottom boxes was significant enough to damage some things. Placing items like books and other solid items on the bottom and a shelving system within the truck would have prevented that damage. Yes. The boxes were all labeled. As it turns out, they were able to fit almost everything on the two trucks - but it was to the point where every square inch of space was used. In some cases, they turned furniture on its side in order to make it all fit, which caused some of the non-breakable contents to get all mixed up. Early on, we had decided to place the most fragile items in our cars, which proved to be a good decision. We also put our bikes onto the back our our cars to reduce the amount of stuff being put on the trucks. The total packing time was about 8 hours, finishing at about 11 PM. An earlier start time would have been better. Once we closed on the house we purchased the next day, they were scheduled to arrive with the two trucks at about 3. Because of a moving job they had earlier in the day, they arrived at about 5:30. However, we never received a phone call stating they were behind schedule. We had to initiate the call Oscar's to ask where they were. They did a great job of unpacking the trucks quickly and, because the boxes were labeled indicating where they should be placed in the house, most of the stuff ended up where it belonged. The team was down to three movers for the first two hours until the second truck showed up an hour later with two additional movers. The team? EXCELLENT. Oscar's employees are excellent! It helped that one of us speaks Spanish but it wouldn't have been a problem if we didn't. You can't find a harder working, professional friendly moving team. Only a couple of glitches. The bed they took apart at the first house wasn't put back together correctly at the final destination. It's not a typical bed, but they could have asked if they weren't sure. And, as I mentioned, there were some broken bowls and a cracked picture. Considering how much stuff had to be moved in the first place I'm not too surprised. I don't know what the percentage of breakage to contents is, but I'm sure what we experienced was not unusual. Would I use them again in the future? Yes. But I would make clear my expectations about communication and packing methods. Oscar's could make the customer experience much better by hiring someone to do a visual inspection of a home (in our case, a home and storage unit) in order to determine the scope of the project. The online form many companies use don't seem to take into consideration the very individual needs of customers. Again - thank you to the team of movers from Oscar's.

We had used them in 2009 so decided to do so again. William responded immediately and gave an estimate over the phone and agreed to give us the same hourly rate as before. Though we did ge a quote at a slightly better price we decided to go with Oscars as they are very good. Its easy to work with William by email and that is a plus. When we had to change dates he did so without any charge which was greatlt appreciated. They 4 guys who did the move were great and it was a big move as it took from 9A - 3P but they worked really fast but were always careful and courteous. We would definately use them again.

It was stressful moving across the country, but the two movers from Oscar's really helped reduce the stress by unloading a 26' moving truck for us. They arrived right on time and worked non-stop for three hours. Walter and William were very professional, friendly, and helpful. They were also very patient with me as I sorted my belongings and identified which ones were to be set aside for storage. They also informed me of the storage possibility with Oscar's and the prices were much better than what I had previously found in town. I decided to store my belongings with Oscar's and am very satisfied with the facility and look forward to working with Oscar and the other employees as I move more things to/from storage. I definitely recommend Oscar's for moving services in Boston.

Overall, it went very well. One glass broke due my packaging skills, or rather, lack thereof. Everything they handled was fine, no marks or scratches or anything. They didn't apply the Angie's List discount at the site, but after a quick call, they sent a check for the difference within the week. I would definitely use them for small moves for one or two bedroom moves.

Setting up the move date went very well and Oscar's obtained and posted the permit necessary to move out of the North End for us. Unfortunately, on the move day itself, the movers were late and nobody on the street had followed the "no parking" signs that accompany the moving permit, so we had to call the police and wait for a tow truck. The movers did a good job loading the truck, but then, on the way to our new home, they took over an hour lunch break and later tried to charge us for it! They attempted to move a bed frame upstairs without collapsing it for no good reason, and ended up scratching our paint terribly. They ultimately scratched our walls in several locations, so we will need to repaint our walls, which makes the total cost of the move MUCH higher. Oscar's is quite reasonably priced, but I'm not sure I would use them again for the above reasons.

They were wonderful and we couldn't be happier with the overall experience. I got quotes from at least 3 other companies but Oscar's was the most reasonable in terms of the per hour rates. All the companies quoted similar number of hours to move. The crew showed up on time, moved quickly and were careful with our belongings. They took time to wrap our furniture securely with blankets and plastic wraps. You can tell only one of the three guys had real experience, but they were all very hard working and tried hard to do the job well. Our house is situated on a hill and has many steps to the front door and also has 3 levels of living space for them to move our belongings to the various levels. They went over the estimated move time but we fully anticipated and built that into our budget in the first place. The move went smoothly and would definitely use them again in the future and have no reservations about recommending them to other members.

They were great. They were very professional from the booking till all the way through the move. Their booking process was very professional. They took very good care of my furniture. They were very fast and very efficient. They were very good to work with. I was very pleased with them and I will recommend them to other Angies List members. The move costed me about $800. It was just a two-bedroom and hall house. I will use them in the future.

When I called they were friendly and responsive. I was very happy with the phone call, so I booked it right then while on the phone. They arrived exactly as promised and were punctual, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely use then again.

The dispatcher and moving crew didn't seem to be on the same page, as the crew arrived 4 hours late. At least the head guy in the truck called us to advise that he would be 4 hours late, not the half-hour late estimate provided by the dispatcher. Apparently a job earlier in the day was twice the size expected, and such surprises are hard to predict, but fairly common. The moving crew (3 men) was friendly and able, despite their being dog-tired. All of our stuff (couches, chests, bicycles, dining set, mattress and bed, 30-40 boxes, 2 TVs, elliptical machine, Bowflex, etc) was moved without incident, from two locations 30 minutes apart, to our new home nearby. They even went the extra mile, removing a door and trying to fit a large elliptical machine down a narrow basement stairway. Although they were highly skeptical the machine would fit, they tried and succeeded. We were both quite pleased and thoroughly impressed. The job took exactly the time they estimated.

The experience went better then expected even with the previously read positive reviews. They were able to accommodate the exact date and time of the move that I wanted and they arrived at exactly the time they were expected. The three guys that came to do the move were all very courteous and professional. The move went off with out a hitch and though we haven't unpacked everything, it does look like nothing was damaged or broken. The price was also a good 30% less than some of the other higher rated moving companies, so I was especially happy with the combination of service and value.

They were nice and very careful with our belongings. They arrived an hour later than scheduled (without calling), which was a problem since we were on a tight schedule to be out of our apartment. However, they worked quickly and we were only out of the apartment half an hour late. They were professional and great about everything except showing up on time.

The price is reasonable/ great. The movers are helpful. It's hard to get reply from them, you'd better keep calling.

They called to say they would be early (which was good). When they arrived, they asked us how we wanted things to be packed (order, priority, etc), and got to work right away. The movers were great. They worked hard, quickly, but carefully. The estimate was right on target, and the price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

The three movers were all professional, careful, friendly, and fast.
