Mr. Fence

John answered my panicked call. Our new puppy could escape the house and run into the busy street. My daughter wasn't able to sleep due to worrying.  My husband had started digging the post holes when he was unexpectedly sent on a long business trip.
He came within 2 days to give me an estimate. We agreed on the price and he said he would return in 1 to 2 days.
On the 2nd day John and his crew showed up and started where the job had been left off. John called me out to show me the fence I had purchased from a large fencing company had a problem. The post slots didn't line up with the support railings on the fence sections.
When I called the fencing company they kept claiming that the didn't understand my problem as I was explaining it to them. When I explained yet again they informed me that I must not be doing something right. John took the phone and in no uncertain terms described  why their product was defective. At this point they offered to order new posts that could be ready in 2 to 3 weeks. John told them that this was unreasonable and he would remove the pickets and replace the top rails.
.My panic was plain to John. He reassured me that he could make the fencing work no matter what it took. He and his crew did all the extra work ,even staying late. The fencing company paid the extra cost for the extra time John and the crew worked. John even came in $100 dollars under estimate.
My only regret is that I hadn't hired John to build the fence in the first place.
