Finishing Touches of Boston by Susan Wollison

My husband and I contacted Finishing Touches of Boston originally because of a Boston Globe Magazine feature on them. We wanted to make better use out of our living and family rooms. I, in particular, was frustrated about the look and feel of the rooms, but didn't know quite what to do about them. Susan Wollison quoted a very reasonable hourly rate, and came to the house within a few days of my call. She listened very carefully to our desires, and asked all the right questions about how we hoped to enjoy the space. She helped us decide what to place where, and gently suggested which furniture had exceeded its useful life or was too large for the room. Part of the difficulty I'd always had making the spaces useful was knowing how (and where) to get rid of things. Susan made all of that so easy! When we asked if she could help us dispose of our thirty-year-old couch, she pulled out her phone and, within an hour, a man came to the door and the couch was gone. Because of her suggestions, the minor adjustments she made, and the absence of the couch, we felt better about that room immediately. At our request, she took us shopping for furniture and carpets. We took Susan's advice about lighting as well as what color to paint the walls and trim and suddenly, without our having to build onto the house or buy all that much, our living space is.... just the way we'd want it to look if we were selling the house. Only we're not moving. We're going to revel in these beautiful "additions" for a long time to come.
