Caddis Insulation

Extremely satisfied with their work in every respect. They were prompt and worked non-stop. There was a mistake in 2 large windows and the re-order was done promptly. Very hot days to work but they just kept going. I would highly recommend them.

Needed spray foam as part of a larger remodel that was up against some major deadlines, both personal and of our other contractors. Caddis' quote was reasonable and included removal of some old insulation, which other insulation places said they couldn't do, and they had good availability for our schedule. Was told job could take 2-3 days, plus we'd have to be out of the house an additional 24hrs after (this is standard). When scheduling, Caddis said they could come a specific week, and then we were pushed to the end of that week. When I expressed concern, that if the job took more than 2 days and ran into the weekend, we and our other subs would have to be out multiple extra days, and was reassured that their guys could finish on the weekend if necessary, sparing us extra days at the hotel, and not ruining the rest of the construction schedule. Fri evening I get contacted that they couldn't finish in 2 days bc of unforeseen problems, and not only were they not coming back Saturday, Monday was a holiday so they'd be back Tuesday, several days later than promised. We ended up out of the house Thu-Sat then again Tue-Thu because of this delay, and had to reschedule our other subs who were supposed to come back that week. Also, in the interim, the workers left everything- an enormous mess we had to live around until they came back 3 days later. Finally, when we came back, we discovered they hadn't aired out everything properly, so the house still smelled strongly and we had to spend one additional night away while we vented it ourselves. Contractor says they did a very good job on the actual work, and they did a great job cleaning up the 2nd time, so at least they got that right.

They were very good. They kept the house very clean. They were unobtrusive. They cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly.

Overall I guess I get what I paid for. MassSave covered the majority of the costs for the work done by Caddis but in general, I felt like the work they did was rushed and not very thorough. There was piping in the basement and in the bathroom that needed a second appointment to correct missed locations as well as additional work needing to be done in the attic. I had a lot of difficulty communicating dates for installs, inspection, and then correctional work. Not all of this was Caddis's fault but I ended up displeased with the whole experience.

Showed up, behaved professionally, sprayed the foam properly but made a critical error of not removing the fiberglass already in the attic. As a result, there was an odor detectable through out the house on hot humid days. When we consulted with Rogers Insulation, they told us that no foam should have been sprayed before the fiberglass was removed. We had to pay additional 3 grand for the remediation of the problem. I asked for a thousand dollars back in good faith for the mistake. Caddis agreed but after repeated requests, never sent the money. These are nice people, but seem still to be learning on the job. The spraying was done properly but it is a pity that the whole job was not done correctly.
