+ -1 moreTom Johnson moved to Maine nearly two years ago and, as far as I know (as a friend and neighbor), his business gradually shifted there too. In any case, Thomas P Johnson Restoration no longer operates from Newton Upper Falls, where it had been.

+ -1 moreI have used this company several times over the past years. Their work is impeccable, their attention to detail impressive, and overall a very positive experience. The price is at the higher end, but "you get what you pay for". For fine furniture or family treasures I would definitely recommend them. The three pieces took a bit of time to complete, but the end result was worth it. The entire staff was very professional, kind and helpful.
Description of Work: I dropped off an antique mahogany drum table and two antique mahogany side tables. The drum table had a tear in the leather top, and the two drum tables had tears in the leather, a glass top that was stuck to the leather, and some scratches on the wood.

+ -1 moreHis work was absolutely perfect. I would use him again. He is a complete gentleman who has a passion in woodwork and that shows. He is on time and responsive.
Description of Work: He did a refinishing job on my double bureau and night chest. These are solid mahogany that had been damaged by some water. He also fixed tables with inlay design. These were very ornate pieces. He fixed a china cabinet and drop-leaf table that was totally wrecked. He is a true professional and takes his work very seriously. These pieces were ruined and he made them look brand new.

+ -1 moreTHOMAS DID ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WORK. THE CHEST IS WONDERFULLY RESTORED AND THE DOORS HE BUILT FOR IT MATCH THE PIECE PERFECTLY. NO ONE WOULD EVER GUESS THAT THEY WEREN'T ORIGINAL. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ANTIQUES. I APPRECIATED THE EXTRANEOUS INFORMATION THAT HE WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE ME REGARDING THE PIECE AND IT'S TIME PERIOD.
Description of Work: RESTORED AN ANTIQUE CHEST AND BUILT NEW DOORS FOR IT WHICH LOOK ORIGINAL.
