We have purchased all of our Fisher and Paykel appliances through Poirier - actually our entire new construction condo building did! Since then we've run into some issues and had to have a few technicians come out over the years. Sheryl (my spelling may be incorrect!) the service manager is the most helpful customer service person we've ever worked with, especially in helping to alleviate issues we had experienced with scheduling. Andrew the technician is incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and communicative. Shout out to Christine Grady for running a great business!

If you are a retail buyer or DIYer, look elsewhere. I purchased a floor model Asko dishwasher from Poirier in July 2019. Our 17 yo Asko finally gave way and led me to visit Asko dealers Ferguson and Poirier in Newton. Ferguson offered a new $949 Asko dw with a $150 rebate, bringing the total to $799. There was one catch - I would need to pick up the unit at the local Asko distributor, Clarke's, way out in Milford. Jimmy (James Jr.) at Poirier offered a $1049 floor model for $869, with no rebate for floor models. I discovered that it had previously been installed at a home (food waste in the pump area), but I wasn't keen on making the long trip out to Milford for the Ferguson unit. I chose to buy from Poirier. While a toekick was missing, Jimmy told me it would be direct shipped from Clarke's within a few days. Good result on the surface, but this story gets worse. As I installed the new unit, I discovered other hardware missing and unattached backplate hardware. I emailed Jimmy and he told me these would be sent soon from Clarke's as well. Fast forward two weeks later and the toekick and hardware hadn't arrived. I emailed Jimmy again and told him I needed the parts within days for others staying at my house while I was on vacation. He stated his parts manager now had the order and Clarke would be sending the product within a few business days. Great. Needless to say, it didn't arrive before I left. With Jimmy out of communication for nearly three weeks, after I arrived home from vacation I expected a carrier had left a pickup slip at my house. This didn't happen. I drove directly to Clarke's in Milford to finally pick up all the parts - the one thing I didn't want to do with the lower priced and new Ferguson dishwasher in order to save time. There, Clarke tells me they had no record of any parts order exists under my name made by Poirier, in over 4 weeks. Worse, the parts weren't in stock anyway. Not a word from Poirier about any of this. After I tell Jimmy this, the next day he sourced the parts taken off an Asko floor model at another Poirier location - something they could have done weeks before. Jimmy drove the parts to my house and offers to do the install. While this was a nice touch and appreciated, when he realized this takes 30 minutes, and involves removing and reinstalling the backplate and previously unattached hardware, not just simply attaching a toekick, he opted to leave and continue on with his day. In total, I spent an extra 6-8 hours doing extra installation, phone calls, emails, and driving an hour out of my way to make this work. With the increased DIY remodels and self-sourcing, Poirier's service and nearly zero communication toward a retail buyer is a lost opportunity. Save your time and find a different appliance retailer.

It is fine. I went in and ordered it on a Tuesday and they installed it on Friday. They match priced from another store. The pricing and the installation was perfect. The oven was about $1100.00 and installation was about $400.00 and that price included installing the new one and hauling the old one away.

They had the product in stock so I was able to get it within 72 hours. They took my old broken oven out and got rid of it. Installed the new one and cleaned up perfectly.

Have an extended warranty with NSI protection plus. Was told I must use Poirier appliance since they had worked on the icemaker within 90 days. Poirier won't schedule an appointment to come for 3 weeks. They said they are short staffed. Every time I call Poirier I am told it is days or weeks before they can come. I will never buy another product from Poitier again because of their service afterwards.
Description of Work: Broken icemaker for the 5th time since the beginning of the year.

The dryer stopped working this morning. I called Poirier to make an appointment but at first I was told that the next available would be in four days. I made that appointment, but I also explained my difficult situation. Although I could hang clothes all over the house, my son with Obsessive compulsive disorder and other special needs would not like that. he would keep repeating, "Dryer, dryer, dryer" many times an hour until the dryer would be fixed. Just half an hour later, I received a call, that they had a cancellation and that the repairman could come in the afternoon if that would be fine with me. And so he did! He installed the new belt and the dryer has been working ever since. Moreover, I was told up in front, during the first call, how much the service would cost. And that plus the cost of the new part was what I paid. Very reasonable. And such a relief.
Description of Work: The provider replaced broken belt in the dryer.

Called for the service request to repair Fisher & Paykel top-loaded dryer that had no power. Scheduling was fine. After calling Fisher & Paykel, the repair technician (Dan) gave diagnosis of broken circuit board, then a new one was ordered. A week later, Dan came to install the new circuit board, he showed no familiarity with the procedure, very puzzled. Eventually, the old one was swapped out, but it didn't work, still had no power (the power source/outlet was normal after checking). Dan tried few other things and called Fisher & Paykel, nothing worked. The new circuit board was returned, and the problem was not fixed. I replaced the dryer with a different brand.

It was great. I had been told about Poirier Sales and Service by someone who bought all their appliances from them when redoing their kitchen. She had done a lot of comparison shopping, and got the best pricing and great service from Poirier. Based on that, I went to them when I needed a new refrigerator to fit in a very specific space last year. Even though it was only one item, the saleman spent all the time I required to select the right one. My experience with the delivery team was also great in terms of their communicating timing pro-actively and being courteous and careful during the actual delivery. It was a no-brainer for me to call them when I needed a replacement washing machine. I didn't even go in. I had done some surfing to be sure I knew the right price range, and, of course, Poirier's prices were competitive. I called, explained the basic parameters of what I wanted, and Michael Poirier gave me his opinion on what I should get. (His recommendation was consistent with what I had already been thinking made sense, but he didn't know that.) I was able to place/confirm the order with a single phone call, got a choice of quick delivery options and had a receipt emailed to me the same afternoon. Unfortunately, I had a scheduling conflict arise the night before my scheduled early morning delivery. I emailed Michael after hours, and he quickly confirmed receipt and made sure that he notified the delivery people. I received a call the next morning offering to move the delivery to an afternoon slot that avoided my conflict. Poirier could not have been more accomodating.
Description of Work: Sold me a front load washing machine, installed it and removed the old one. (Also, last autumn they also sold me and delivered/installed a new refrigerator for $1,930.)

This review is for the Norwood, MA showroom of Poirier Sales and Service at 1015 Washington Street, Norwood, MA 02062 from whom I have purchased several appliances (Bosch washer, Bosch dryer, Miele cooktop,, Miele dishwasher etc.) over the past several years. This family-run owned company is known for the personal service they offer, terrific follow-up, courteous delivery people and repairmen, and their selling staff is fully knowledgable about each manufacturer they feature and each appliance they offer. I have specifically worked with Michael Poirier (Direct Dial: 781-619-0325) from the Norwood showroom for a variety of purchases and highly recommend him in every imaginable way. He is extremely knowledgable about what he offers and sells and can explain the various features and differences between items within a manufacturer's line and b/w the manufacturers themselves. Poirier carries a full range of all kinds of kitchen and laundry appliances in every price range to satisfy every need and budget. Michael has patience and sincerely wants his customers to be happy with their purchases and gladly takes whatever time is needed to help his customers make informed decisions. I would not consider purchasing a single appliance from anyone other than Poirier because their service is so exemplary and the various people who work in the showroom, deliver the items and install them and, if necessary, service the appliances are so considerate, thorough and polite that I see no reason to look elsewhere. This kind of attention and service is hard to find in the age of big box stores and online shopping where, too often, once the item is paid for, you, the purchaser, are on your own. Trust is an essential element for the purchaser to ensure that they are receiving the factory-made, brand new appliance they ordered with original factory-installed parts. There are reasons that Poirier is allowed to sell high-end lines like Miele,Wolf and Bosch that include very specific and required training of service personnel so that they can be considered and quot;authorizedand quot;, customer service, and knowledgeable sales staff. Short notice is never a problem for either purchases or repairs and accommodation of the customers needs is a very real consideration, always. Purchasing from Poirier is a pleasure in every single way and always has been. No wonder their reputation is stellar and essentially 5-stars! FYI, the second showroom is located at 244 Needham Street, Newton, MA in a small shopping center near Splash and Soup Kitchen.

Additionally, they provide knowledgable repair people as well as specifically trained and authorized repair people for Miele which requires it. In other words, the provide everything you need to make a purchasing decision, receiving the item(s), having them unpacked and installed correctly, and if needed down the road, authorized repair people including those that service Miele and are specifically trained by Miele.

The washer started to act up earlier in July. The agitator would sometimes work and sometimes not. We called them on approximately July 18 or 19, and their first visit was on July 24. This was the first time a technician could be available. In his first visit, the technician diagnosed the problem and identified the cause as a worn switch on the timer mechanism. (The timer motor drives a series of cams that operate electrical switches that operate the pump, solenoid valves, agitator, and so forth.) He said that the part was still available despite the fact that the washer is probably about 20 years old. The technician also said he thought the rest of the washer was in good shape and could probably operate for several more years. So we decided to repair the washer rather than to replace it. The technician was probably at our house for roughly 30-45 minutes. Poirier ordered the part and returned on July 30 to install it. The installation took less than an hour, and the washer has operated satisfactorily since then. Poirier's fee to inspect and diagnose the problem is $139. The second trip was covered by that fee so the only incremental cost was that of the part ($155 in this case). By an unfortunate coincidence, we had 2 other appliance failures in the same month! Our dishwasher failed, as did the clothes dryer. We had Poirier come in each instance. in the case of the dishwasher, we decided to replace the machine, based upon the nature and expected expense of the repairs. We purchased a new one from Poirier, who were able to provide it and install it in a few days after we decided on what model we wanted. Poirier's price was quite competitive. In the case of the clothes dryer, the Poirier technician arrived with the necessary part (a door switch) in his hand, because their diagnosis of the problem from our telephone description proved to be correct. So that repair required only one visit lasting 10-15 minutes at the most -- Very impressive! We have been quite satisfied with Poirier's service each of the several times we have used them. They are usually able to send out a repair technician within a few days, they seem to be good at diagnostics, and our experience is that they offer practical advice on repair vs. replacement. In each case, they have correctly diagnosed the problem and the repair has been done promptly and successfully.
Description of Work: Poirier Service repaired our Maytag clothes washer. The timer mechanism had worn out so the timer assembly (including motor and electrical switches) was replaced.

We wanted higher quality items for the part of our property, where my husband and I live. Now this is why we went to this sales center. They had the brands we wanted with the quality appliance functions we wanted, and they offer pretty fair prices, I would say, for higher grade appliances, which I find relatively appealing. I would call them helpful there. I think they are very good to deal with and talk to. They seem to communicate with us and are accommodating as they can be, which I appreciate.
Description of Work: For our 3000 square foot main house in Boston that we recently had a ton of renovation work on, we purchased a new Jennifer confection oven, a Bosh washer, a GE microwave with a vent and a stacking Frigidaire washer dryer combo unit from this company.
