Description of Work: He was there to paint. Overall he was fine but my complaint was that he should have alerted me that the paint I provided him for the bathroom smelled strange. He went ahead with the painting and it smelled for 4 weeks like boy's gym socks!

Description of Work: We use Steve Cooper as our general handyman for multiple projects around our house. We were originally given his name by members of my long term book group and they were actually disagreeing over whether to share him because they were worried he'd get too busy to help them. But they did, and I've recommended him around the neighborhood and all are happy. Generally twice a year we make a list of all those things that break around the house and he comes over and works down the list. He doesn't mind coming for stupid tiny things...he knows we are not at all handy. He is very flexible. We live quite close to him, so sometimes he fits us in at the end of the day. He is very personable, easy to have around, trustworthy, etc. he does beautiful carpentry and built ins. We haven't had those done, but we've seen at our friends houses.

He gave me an estimated date as to when he could start and when it would be completed. He showed up when he said he would and the rooms turned out great.
Description of Work: Steve stripped two rooms of wallpaper in my home, added crown molding to one room and then painted both rooms.

 + 5 moreMr. Cooper replaced rotted gutters and fascia board, caulked windows, doors, and siding, sanded and painted concrete basement floors, painted basement walls, re-hung basement cupboard folding doors, and built two desks out of old hardwood doors. The job went very well. Mr. Cooper is very able and very honest. I could leave him in the house above and not worry about theft. I gave him a key to the house and he came and went without a hitch. He deserves to be listed.
