I closed on my first home in Chestnut Hill last wk thanks in large part to the support, guidance, and unmatched expertise of Keller Williams' Shira Steinberg. Not one to exaggerate, I cannot fully do justice in describing the level of attention, follow-through, and savvy that Shira brings to her work. In a nutshell, and without reservation, I strongly recommend Shira for anyone who is looking to buy a home in the Boston area! And even more so if you are a first time-buyer and/or are new to the area! About my experience: I had a moderate budget and next to no experience with real estate. Yet I found myself amazed at the ease in which my long-distance purchase transpired AND the *first class* treatment I received from Shira. Some specifics: -The professionalism and care evidenced in the very first email I received from Shira was indicative of the entire 4mnth process to come. -She was always available and quick to respond by phone and email despite time differences and my hectic travel schedule. -I had only two short trips available to house hunt: During my first trip, Shira and her driver patiently took my family of four (incl. 2 elem age kids!) to a number of neighborhoods so we could narrow down our options. -If you?re purchasing long distance or are new to the area: (a) Providing a driver and detailed itinerary for house hunting is included in her service and doesn?t cost extra. (b) Due to her many years as an agent in the greater Boston area, Shira has a number of contacts with reputable bankers, lawyers, and other agents?so I was able to get a number of excellent references from her that eased the process of getting my financing and (FHA) condo approval complete?against a number of odds. -Both the banker I used for financing and the lawyer I hired were referred to me by Shira, and I strongly feel that part of their high quality of service and attention grew out of their respect for her as a colleague. -For first time homebuyers, Shira provides a very well-honed (1-2hr) "training" of sorts that spells out all the stages of the process, allaying much of the anxiety that?s usually involved. My friends and extended family were routinely shocked at (a) how our house hunt/purchase transpired with such ease and (b) how relaxed I was throughout. I attribute both of these to Shira?s support and knowledge, where I always felt a step ahead and in great hands working with her. -Towards the final weeks, Shira managed to ?protect? me (I only realized after the fact) from unnecessary anxiety associated with the twists and turns of the process while at the same time keeping me in the loop and providing me with as many options as possible when more important issues arose. Throughout she struck a perfect balance between calm and comedic?as there is no shortage of absurd twists and turns in the home-buying process!?while remaining incredibly professional even after we had grown very friendly! I will definitely hire Shira Steinberg again when the time comes and STRONGLY recommend her as a buyer?s agent.
