Bob The Handyman

He repaired my roof unbelievably! There was leaking over my fireplace and it took some searching to find the leak. He also put a sump pump in my basement, added a dehumidifier, and installed a new water heater. He insulated the inside of my basement walls. He is my go-to handyman and he does more than that. He is very big on problem solving. He can look at something and figure out a way to make it even better than it was before the problem started. He is amazing! I can't say enough good things about him.

Bob is a retired engineer and he taught physics at Wentworth and maybe M.I.T. There's an M.I.T. connection, went there or worked there, I can't remember. he can be a slow talker but he is thinking before he gives you his ideas on how to do something. since he lives near me I have stopped at his house to leave payment and he has done amazing things with his three story victorian. he, and his helper, built a glass addition onto his house and he has engineered it so the solar energy that comes in is channeled to heat his house. his heating bill is 50% of mine and i only have a ranch house. i have a few quirky things in my house such as a front stoop that is built over the foundation (they decided to move the front hall back and make the area that would have been inside be outside. i have been worried that rain and snow that gets in will rot the support timbers and turn the metal brackets to rust. he thought about it and i can't really explain it so if it sounds confusing it's me. he shored up under the front stoop and then braced it against the side walls. this creates a triangle which my father (also an engineer) told me was the most stable configuration. i recently saw a piece of paint chipping off in my living room and bob inspected the attic and found that the chimney sits down on the roof causing water to slide down in front of the chimney and sit there, after a while it drips down the chimney and into the attic and then the living room ceiling. his helper is a roofer and did the work but bob's solution was to build up in front of the chimney (again I can't explain but it works) so the water runs off the sides and down the roof. I love bob and his work!
