We have a pair of super comfy (and sharp looking) recliner chairs that need serious attention. Multiple neighbors recommended that we contact Paul and Snezana from Upholstery Today for this job. Snezana suggested that it might be easier for us if she came to our house to look at the situation, so that we could avoid having to schlep a big piece of furniture over for possibly no reason. She came by the very next day and told us the sad news that the chair's construction made it impossible to do a quality job. She charged nothing for the visit and was prompt, courteous, and super helpful (and also really sympathetic). It is unbelievably rare to experience this kind of attention and service these days, and this little company well deserves recognition for this. The quality of their work looks awesome, by the way, because the chairs our neighbors' had recovered by them look fabulous. Five stars for service, quality and integrity! Moral of the story: Never buy furniture upholstered with "bicast" leather! It's not real leather and it peels horribly, usually right after the warranty expires.
Description of Work: Two chairs needed reupholstering.

I located several possible reupholstery services on Angie's List and after reviewing locations and particularly pricing, I selected Upholstery Today. There was only 1 review listed and it was outstanding, so I took a chance and called. I left a message and was contacted that same day by Snezana, one of the owners. She gave me an appointment for the same week and said they would be happy to pick up the chair. I chose to drop it off instead. I had a bit of difficulty finding the location in the center of Newton as the location was a very small space and hard to see, but was greeted outside immediately by Pantelis who was waiting for me (I cannot remember if this is his first or last name) and he looked at the chair I brought. He then asked if I wanted to see material and although I was planning to find my own material to keep the cost down, I decided to look at the swatches anyway. Well, I found one I loved that was listed at $69.90 per yard. When I asked what the total cost would be, he replied that he would do the entire job for $400. at this point Snezana joined us and I gave her a deposit of half. She said the chair would be ready in 2 weeks and she would call. Exactly 2 weeks later she called and they dropped off my chair the same day. It arrived in beautiful condition with excellent attention to detail and extremely well done. I am thrilled and have already recommended them to my brother who has the partner antique chair. The workmanship, the punctuality and particularly the pricing were exceptional!
Description of Work: Reupholstered the back and seat of my antique chair, tightened the springs in the seat, replaced the latticed strapping underneath, and replaced the padding.

Upholstery Today replaced the supporting strapping, padding, and the seat cover on a mahogany side chair. We supplied the fabric, and delivered the chair to their storefront location in Newton. They also re-glued a loose cross-rail underneath, and tightened the joint between seat and back. They requested a week to do the work, and it was ready for pickup on time. My wife and I are repeat customers. I should have written a review in appreciation before now. Three years ago, we had Upholstery Today do similar work on eight mahogany dining room chairs, for $1000; and then had them reupholster a living room loveseat, for $1000. In both those cases we selected fabric from their sample books. They picked up and delivered the furniture. We are highly satisfied. All three of these jobs involve cording; a lot of it for the seams and corners of the cushions on the loveseat, and at the base of the seats on the side chairs. All of this upholstery work was very expertly done. The fabric is straight and taut, and the cording very uniform. The seats on the dining room chairs are slightly saddle-shaped, so it's a definite credit to Paul's skill that there are no wrinkles.
Description of Work: Reupholstered a mahogany side chair, and re-glued a couple of joints on it.
