Regrettably, this company has proved to be unsatisfactory to engage in business with. In September, I was presented with a promotion that included a complimentary tune-up for new customers with an oil fill-up. Upon completing the necessary online form, I conversed with a representative who arranged for my initial delivery and scheduled the free tune-up for December 2023. However, in January 2024, I was billed $658.86 for the tune-up. Following a discussion with a representative who consulted with Brian, the supervisor, I was assured that the issue was a mistake on their part. Subsequently, on March 1, 2024, I received an invoice with an additional finance charge of $9.74, bringing the total to $668 for the supposed complimentary tune-up that was originally advertised as free for new customer oil fill-ups. I found it perplexing that I received only the tune-up service without any oil delivery, for which I was billed separately. Upon requesting to speak with Brian, I was informed that I was ineligible for the promotion due to my failure to opt for auto delivery during the initial form submission. I argued that I should have been informed of this requirement beforehand, but Brian disregarded my concerns by stating that the company cannot operate without payment. Due to the miscommunications and lack of transparency, I have been held liable for the charges. Additionally, I raised the issue of an unauthorized hard inquiry on my credit report, which was also dismissed. I believe it is imperative to caution other potential customers about the poor customer service, unwillingness to address customer grievances, and misleading practices demonstrated by this company.

First of all, we did order oil from them for the first year when we moved in. Soon we find their price is too high and then we switched. I hired Devaney oil company to replace the leaked water tank on 2017/4. Paid $2646. The tank starts to leak today as of 2020/2/4. The vendor of the tank (Velocity) confirms it is installation issue. Devaney refuses to fix it. Quoted: "you don't order oil from us right now, no matter it is our fault or not, call your oil company instead." Fine, you have the right to claim it is outside the 1-year warranty whatever you said although I can find nothing on the contract. I also have the right to argue and give a review. 2 years back when you grabbed the $2646 , why didn't you say " you are not our loyal customer. We can't do this business with you. Once you took the money and get the job done. You have the obligation to make it right no matter whom I am ordering the oil from right now. It is easy to pay some money and find other contractor to cover their ***. No need to continue to argue with them and waste my precious time. Just remember, they can't even do a routine plumbing job done. What else can you expect? A rude, greedy, and irresponsible company. Stay away from them.

I hesitated to write this and gave the company time to make things right. We have been customers for oil delivery and boiler service for 24 years (2 different addresses). On 11/30 (Friday) our old water heater cracked and leaked, Devaney came out right away and did an urgent repair, but we had no hot water for 3 days, we were told the technician could not order a new tank. On Mon 12/3, a salesman came, was very friendly & said he'd send estimate & thought new tank could be installed next day, no promises made which was fair. We received an estimate (seemed high) and signed right away. Sent agreement in, heard nothing the next day, qucik phone call with salesman but no install time. After calling finally received a non itemized receipt 12/4. Was told by rushed brusque customer service person late in the day 12/4 "it will be installed tom. but not in the morning - she repeated x 2." Next day 12/5 I got a call, we can do it now, it was before noon. Got my husband to rush home even though they said "not in the AM." New tank installed. Did not work. So day 6 w/o hot water in home, new hot water tank didn't work. Had to get them back the next day, they "fixed" new tank & took specs/documentation w/them. We had to call & beg for that. Now we are left with no itemized receipt and have to call again. Poor communication and installation not done correctly 1st time around. Sad because this company has been part of our lives for 24 years. Maybe delivery and emergency service fine but would not hire for HVAC

We are having a generator put in and need a propane tank and propane service. I filled out Angie's service provider which suggested Devany as highly rated. I submitted the request to Devaney. There appears to be only one person who can handle Propane tanks and deliveries, John Holmes. Although his voice mail message says he'll call back as soon as he can, he has not returned my calls or Devaney's emails to him for me. This includes the Angie referral, 5 phone calls, and at least 2 emails over a 7 day period.

Always pleasant and skilled technicians willing to answer questions and discuss what they are doing. We have an older forced air oil system so the quality of the work is especiallly important. And, the delivery guy is also great. We have a tough driveway and a long pull to get the hose to the filler pipe. In 40 years they have never missed a delivery.

When we needed them the most Deveney Energy left us in a cold.. Yes, no heat with the temperature outside reaching zero. Devaney didn't deliver fuel on time and allow the oil tank to run of oil leaving tenants in a multi family home with no heat. Their emergency service put me through to a person "in charge" which was an anwering machine and a major snowstorm was coming. Multiple calls made and multiple promises made and no heat .. We were regular customer, on a service plan, and on automatic oil delivery services.

I have used them for decades. I get a yearly check up from them.

Everything was pretty good. They were a different company and Devaney took them over. We've been here for almost 50 years. Sometimes it varies with who come out. Some guys are more thorough. They could do better with pricing.

They are reliable and they give us regular reminders for maintenance. They are easy to work with.

The cost varies by the price we are paying for the propane. It’s just a contract and we only pay for the propane. There’s no additional charge unless they do other work, which we haven’t had them do yet. I’ve never had any trouble with the service, the billing or I’ve not ran out of propane. The pricing seems to be the same as anybody else for the propane. I would say that’s an “A” for not charging too much. I’ve been happy with the service. I don’t even have to call them. They’ve got some kind of monitoring system and they know. They don’t schedule coming, they just show up and take care of this all outside. Their professionalism is very good.

We have used them for a long time. They're a local company and we would probably consider them for air conditioning if we were about to put it in, but I think that's a couple of years in the future. We have a service agreement and it covers the cost, and I have no idea what that costs; I can't remember. They're excellent. They are a family owned local company. We have had them for over 20 years.

My hot water tank is broken. Email them. Their response is very quick. We made an appointment and scheduled the service. They are professional. Before them, I have called a plumber. He declined the job. Their reputation is good around my neighborhood, although this is my first time to hire them. They just spend 2 hours to finish the job. Everything is neat and tidy. Anyway, everything goes smoothly. Recommend.

I think highly of them. I use them all the time.

They just do their work right away. They don't cut corners, they clean up their work area afterwards. They take their time to talk to me, to deal with any questions and they answer them right away.

They're technicians are very responsive. If you call the company they usually respond within a day or two. Their price is reasonable and the quality of work is very good. I have no complaints from the service to the quality of their work. The pricing is top notch.

They're available. They show up when they say they'll show up. They clean up when they're done. It's good. The oil deliveries are good. The problem I have is with the routine maintenance. I was scheduling annual maintenance of the system which is what they recommended. At least half the time within the week of the annual servicing, the system broke down. I had to have them come out again and pay for that. It's almost as they were messing up the system. It was annoying. I had to take day off from work twice. Otherwise, they're good. When I've had a true emergency, they've come out quickly and fixed it. They're fine. They're professional. I've had no trouble with them. They come out when they say they're going to be here. They clean up. They're good people. I think they could do better routine maintenance.

They told me they did not do at will deliveries. I tried to ask for information for other companies doing that. I was told "we do not do at will.." and they guy just hung up on me. Am I going to do a regular delivery contract with them??? Yeah, right....

The price depends on what they are doing.

The technician (Norman) answered all of my questions and did a thorough cleaning. System efficiency was measured and turned.

We've been working on replacing our furnace for a while. Devaney was one of the companies I was recommended by a friend. I spent a long time trying to get someone out to the house to give us a quote, and when they did come, they were really nice and we liked them and seemed to strike up a rapport with them... but since then they appear to have fallen off of the face of the planet. We are talking about a 3 month late spring time period and not during the worst winter we've had in years (in which I know everyone was busy). They will not respond to any of my calls or voice mails. At one point I wondered if something had happened to the sales person so called the main office, who just put me through to their voicemail again, saying that yes they were about. If you don't want/need the the business (which would have been at least $5000) good for you... but just say so.

My house is heated by forced hot water and the circulation stopped several times late in the evening. I called Devaney for emergency service several times and they arrived promptly each time and got the circulation going again. They diagnosed the problem as a failing deaerator early on but I tried to cheap out on the fix by asking them to try to fix it rather than replace it. (Penny-wise, pound-foolish of me.) Thus, the need for multiple emergency calls was my fault, not theirs. I finally agreed to replace the part and haven't had a problem since. I've heard that they aren't the cheapest oil supplier around but the bottom line for me is when I needed them to come right away they did. That's worth more to me than saving a bit oil.

On this particular occasion I wanted the oil tank topped off on a certain date which was not their normal timing. I called a few days in advance and they set it up as requested. Again, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this company.
