He did not provide a detailed account or estimate as we had hoped. He was pleasant enough though and probably was honest as well.

Had them done a roof inspection. After climbing up and look at the roof for 2 min, they told me that I need a new roof. Later had other companies looking at the roof. 50% of others told me that the roof should last another 5 years with no problem. So they definitely are trying to sell their service. The price quoted was in the middle with other companies.

After I purchased the "Roof Maintenance Package" from Angie's List, Dion Gaines did schedule an appointment and showed up at the appointed time to inspect my roof. I could not be there on the day in question but my adult son was. Dion told him that he'd taken loads of photographs of the roof and would send me a report. When I hadn't heard from him two weeks later I e-mailed him and asked him to send the photos and call me to discuss any work needed. It took another two weeks and two more reminder e-mails from me before he replied, saying that he had indeed taken lots of photos, that a fair amount of work was needed, and that he would send me his report that evening. Almost three more weeks have since passed and I'm still waiting. So I've paid $99 for an "inspection" I could have gotten for free from any number of other roofing companies, who would also have followed up with estimates for the work that is needed -- whereas I still have no idea what that is, because I've never received the report I was promised.

Overall I wasn't happy with them. First guy did an estimate for all the work. Seemed reasonable. Then they had multiple missed appointments and showing up at the wrong time on other occasions, we finally got a time for them to come, with me making multiple confirmation calls to ensure they'd show up when they were supposed to. Finally the owner came with all the wrong materials, blamed it on his colleague who did the estimate. Said he'd do the patches, and come back another time for the work to protect against birds. He didn't show up for two other appointments he made to do the bird work, then finally sent an email essentially saying "hire someone else, I'm not going to get to it." What's funny to me was that in my initial conversations with the company owner, he said "what I really want out of this job is a positive review," yet everything he did made that less and less likely to happen. He seemed like a nice honest guy, and mostly I'm sure his work is probably fine. But he lacked some basic business and professional skills.

The gentleman who did the cleaning was nice and on time.

He came over on time and was very pleasant and inspected the entire roof. He found a few things but didn't push getting it repaired and said it can wait when we need to replace the entire roof in a few years. There was one area where I suspected a leak but wasn't certain and mentioned it. He said he didn't see anything and would only be concerned if we were certain of the leak. Sure enough a few days later there was a leak. Though I really liked him when he came I gave a lower grade because now I have to find someone else to find the source of the leak. In my second roofing inspection, the other contractor was able to see that my home didn't have flashing, which he could plainly see before even getting on a ladder. I'm actually very upset because now we have to deal with a bigger leak/mold issue that could have been mediated before it got so big. And the roofing inspection done by Certified Roofing looked only at the shingles and didn't even notice something as basic as flashing on a roof.

The roofer came as promised to perform a roof inspection. But he did not have a tall enough ladder to actually get on the roof. He did a visual inspection from the top of the ladder. He pointed out a few minor things that should be fixed and said he would send someone to take care of them. This hasn't happened. Fortunately, the roof is in excellent shape and these small details don't make a great deal of difference except for an annoying noise. Still, I would have liked to have those little loose ends nailed down.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Certified Roofing. I tried to contact Dion a couple of times using multiple methods. After finally getting in touch, he assured me he would send me an email to schedule an appointment but never did so. I eventually had to get a refund on my deal. Many of his old reviews recommended him very highly, so maybe he was just overwhelmed with Big Deal customers. Regardless, it was not a great way to start a relationship and I will be choosing a different contractor for the work.

Even though I'd mentioned the missing vent cap when I made the appointment, the roofer didn't have one with him when he arrived. He did say he'd come back within the next 2 weeks and replace it. Three weeks later, I called the company because nobody had ever come back. The manager apologized for forgetting us and came out immediately. But instead of replacing the vent cap, he said we needed a new roof immediately. Even if we had decided to work with them (taking a much higher quote than we've heard elsewhere), we wouldn't have been able to replace the roof straight away - and we still needed that vent capped! Fortunately, we found someone else who did the job right away.

Purchased through angieslist coupon deal on september 26th. emailed immediately to schedule. did not hear back again until generic mass email on october 1st saying that due to response, would start happening area by area. indicated that they'd be done within one week, with notification 1/2 hour beforehand and afterwards. service was finally (apparently) performed 10/15 or so. it was fine, what i expected. no major issues with the service, once it happened. but nearly three weeks with only sporadic communication isn't fantastic, unfortunately. it could be an isolated case because of an unexpectedly large response from angieslist, it's tough to say. the price was fantastic, so it's no surprise. i feel like i got my money's worth.

I took the morning off from work to wait for this guy to show up. He never did. The next appointment I made, he sent some surly guy who showed up an hour late, complained about how hard my house was to find, and told me my roof had a bump in it. Thanks a lot. I took my dog around the block and when I got back he was gone. That was my roof inspection. When I called to complain, I was apologized to profusely and told the repairs I had called about would be done the following Wednesday. No show again.

I Could not be happier with my experience. I had a small piece of missing drain pipe and they replaced it for free! I explained that I had not had my gutters cleaned for a few years. After he finished the cleaning, he told me not to waste money having the gutters cleaned every year since they were not that dirty. He was friendly, polite and professional. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to friends and family. A+++++

I have tried to call him several time over the last couple weeks and he has not picked up at all. Very annoyed.

I signed up for a Big Deal for a roof inspection with routine maintenance. The inspector was profoessional and thorough and gave me an estimate for a total roof replacement. No maintenance or repair services were performed.

He cleaned the gutters and checked my roof and reported the results to me, the owner. It went well.

My wife was at home, i thought he will fix minor thing, instead he suggested for roof replacement and promised that he will back in evening to talk to me about roof replacement plan. He never mentioned year, month and date so i suspect he might be back some evening. Dont buy such low cost packages they are like inspection which any one can do, You dont need to spend 99$ to know where leak is. Some times i think i did very nice that did not buy 6600$ roofing package, so guy comes and leaves singles in my hand and leave.

Certified Roofing arrived so late I had to reschedule the following week. At appointment #2, discovered that he did not bring a ladder with enough heigth, although I had told him that he needed an extra long ladder for the building. The following day, appointment #3, he went up on the roof, took pictures and promised to email a report of what needs to be done. No report was ever received. This was a huge waste of my time and money

Miguel who performed the service was extremely professional and very nice. He arrived and introduced himself and immediately got straight to work. He informed me of the areas that he felt needed attention in the form of gutter guards and all other details of the gutter status. He was polite, knowledgeable, and very friendly and it was an absolute pleasure to talk with him once his work was complete. I highly recommend this company and would absolutely have them back!

I came to Certified Roofing through a family member that had hired them. I sent Dion, the owner, an e-mail and he promptly made an appointment and came over to give an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and he was professional, polite and on-time. We set a day to start the work (which was just a few days later) and the crew did a very nice job. The roof looks great and they even cleaned up well after. When the crew finished, the owner, Dion, came back to make sure that the work was up to par and fixed a couple of modest issues that arose during the work. An excellent experience.

I called Dion for an estimate and he got back to me very quickly and scheduled the appointment the next day. He came out and inspected our roof and explained the condition of our roof and his recommendation to replace it. He explained the roofing process and gave us an estimate. He was very friendly and nice to work with. He even came back again in the evening to go over the details again with my husband. We were able to schedule the job quickly. His workers were very considerate - we have young twins and they helped me navigate the craziness to load them in the car. They did an especially good job of cleaning up after stripping the roof. Our lawn guy was impressed that there very little debris left in the yard. We also had Dion replace our gutters and that went fine as well. We are very satisfied and would work with them again.

Bought 2 different Angie's List "Big Deals" from this roofer to inspect 4 properties I maintain. Figured it would be easy for them to do 2 adjacent ones together, the other 2 are a mile apart. Emailed them 6/30/2012 to schedule appt for these prepaid inspections. It is now 9/1/2012 and I never heard from them. UPDATE: I contacted Angie's List for a refund after writing the above review. The owner contacted me, very nicely saying "Oh I'm so sorry etc." I was about to leave on a work trip, said I would be in touch after my return to schedule the appointment. While I was gone he sent one of his people by, who wondered why I was not there to meet him. Hmm, could it be because we did not have an appointment for that day??? Upon my return I again called the owner. All apologies, he was so sorry again, etc.. We rescheduled for 10/9. That's right, now it is over 4 months since my initial contact with them. Can you guess what happened? No show. No call. I am completely done with this "Bad Deal". I have asked for a full refund from Angie's List and will not trouble Certified Roofing with my business in the future.

He came out to look at my house and was supposed to come back to do the work but it's been a month now.

Went awesome. I wish every contractor was this easy to work with. The second floor of a rental property I own was leaking badly into the attic and second floor. I called Certified roofing and got The owner, Deon. He quoted me over the phone on how much it would be more or less. I really appreciated that because I wanted to have an idea as to what it would cost before I had anyone come out. Dion was on time and was surprisingly a very clean cut guy. My mistake for stereotyping roofers I suppose. He explained that he was scheduled out for about a month with roof jobs. Then offered to hop on the roof himself. I was really happy to see the owner of a business doing my repair. He explained a lot of things new lead metal, icy water stick paper. .......but BOTTOM LINE never leaked , great price, fast, and pleasant. I just wish he could do all my construction work.

Overall I would say this was a really positive experience and I wished that I had employed this roofer 4 years ago when I had my initial work done. This owner was articulate, related well, wasn't afraid to climb up to difficult areas of the roof and fix the problem as best he could given the limitations of the previous roofer's work. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

We had some structural issues with the roof and some of the shingles were curling. We decided to have a completely new roof done. Certified roofing gave us a competitive offer. Our structural architect and Certified roofing worked very closely together. They have done the interior construction to support the roof according to the architects plans. Then all shingles were removed and the new ones installed. The workers were working hard from early morning until late, so the roof was completed within two days. The structural part took one and half day. I was were impressed that they have left everything very clean. They did not leave any single nail in our yard.
