Whittier Plumbing & Heating

I have done business with Whittier Plumbing & Heating for a number of years. I have been consistently impressed with their professionalism and the high quality of their work. But I have appreciated even more their immediate response on a couple of occasions when we had an urgent problem -- heat stopped working in the winter; a radiator pipe sending a flood of water into an upstairs bedroom. One emergency occurred on a weekend; the other took place on a holiday when Whittier was not open. In both instances they responded to my phone call and had someone on site and dealing with the problem as quickly as I could have hoped. They do a great job, they work efficiently, they charge a fair price for their services, and they take care of their customers. I couldn't recommend Whittier Plumbing & Heating more highly. Everything went perfectly. I was called back the same day after first making contact with Bruce. The plumbers sent over showed up exactly on time, one ahead of the other to inspect the situation and let the other know what parts were needed and then they got the work done quickly. They were very polite and professional and the work they did was exceptional.

Mike was efficient, quiet, left a clean work area and the job was done perfectly. These men are absolute professionals. Any contact is pleasant and thoughtful. I have used them several times for a variety of tasks. I will always use them. They are a bit high in price but well worth it for that peace of mind.

Always on time and repairs done quickly. The other night at 10PM our furnace broke with temps below zero. From the time I called them to completion it took less than 1 hour! Thank you Bruce and Charlie !

Very professional; asked for our input at numerous places along the way and explained everything; he even fixed a screw up by Orange Oil where they'd installed our new furnace and used the wrong size pipe; we're are waiting for him to come back and do the finish work which is NOT his fault because we are waiting for an electrician to finish some work that may need pulling upthe flooring in the bathroom Whittier was working on so they cannot do the final finish stuff yet.

Whittier has a great reputation and does fine work on big projects. The problem is when you have simple repairs and they send out someone who really isn't very good. I had three problems - a slow running kitchen sink, two shower controls that weren't working properly, and some issues with the hot water heater. I was told that the sink was working normally, that the shower controls needed to be replaced which would require tearing the wall around it down, and that the water heater problem was probably somehow related to the shower control problem. Four months later when the kitchen sink clogged completely I called a different plumber who fixed the sink, repaired the two shower controls, and found a problem with the hot water heater. He handled all of these problems quickly and as routine occurances.

I knew the pump was on its last legs because it wasn't holding water in the bladder. I called around 0700 which is the time one calls plumbers around this area unless you want to wait until later in the afternoon or the next morning and discussed it with Bruce. Since it wasn't an emergency I was scheduled for about 5 business days out. The guys showed up on time and did their thing. Of course, then there was the problem with the well -- they went down and pulled the top to see why the new pump wasn't working as well as it should. The well had sort of collapsed. Would you believe these guys dug the mess out of the well? Yep, they did - over and above the call of plumbing.

They are reliable, skilled and reasonable. They are not the cheapest. They are a little pricey but they do good work.

The Whittier plumbers arrived on time, did thorough work that accomplished the goal, and were friendly and polite. However, the bill came in unexpectedly high due to a part that either was broken before they arrived or broke during repairs. We did not realize this until we received the bill and were somewhat surprised. We should have asked more questions during the work to avoid this surprise, but a courtesy call to notify of the overage would have been appreciated.
