MORENCY FLOOR COVERING CO

I recently ordered a carpet from Morency based on a positive experience with them several years ago. However, the previous family-owned company was recently sold and the new owner has little to no experience in the carpet or flooring business and it shows. After an unnecessarily difficult back and forth with conflicting information from multiple salespeople over product availability, I placed my order and paid a deposit, but when the installers came to put the carpet in, I quickly discovered that it wasn't what I ordered. Instead of a 15' width - which would have avoided a seam in my 14' wide room - they mistakenly ordered a 12' width, which resulted in an unsightly seem across the room. Rather than acknowledge the mistake, the owner of the company refused to accept responsibility, despite the fact that the proposal he sent clearly states I ordered a 15' wide carpet. Since the carpet was half installed by this point, he agreed to take $800 off the balance owed. Not surprisingly, when he ran my credit card, he actually charged me $800, rather than crediting me that amount. Don't do business with this company - they're unethical, unprofessional, and clueless.

Jobs look great the only suggestion is they need to clean up a little better. Had to clean after they were done on hardwood area.

Owner helpful and knowledgeable at the showroom. Materials selected and installation booked. Installers on time and work was performed without issues. Finish product as expected. Looks great.

I learned from the Marmoleum web site that this local company was an authorized vendor for this "green" product, which is installed differently from vinyl or ceramic tile. I did not comparison shop, so I cannot rate the price (quoted as per sq ft for the goods plus separate installation charge), except that it was comparable to some cork and bamboo flooring I had installed last year. Morency explained my options as to tiles vs sheet goods, gave comparison prices, ordered an extra sample so I could see an additional color, advised my contractor how to prepare the subfloor, and installed the linoleum floor. Initially it seemed to be a flawless job, but after 2 weeks I noticed buckling as if the floor was riding up from the subfloor. It turned out that they had used the wrong adhesive. They were very agreeable about returning to redo the job (even used the leftovers to put a floor in a closet at no extra charge), but the result is not fully satisfactory, as they had to pry up thresholds and cut around baseboards (which we had deliberately waited to install AFTER the floor). There is still some bubbling including along one of the seams, so I am concerned about how durable the product will be.
