I was looking on for someone locally who works with the kind of HVAC system that I have and they do. I asked them to come by and they had taken care of it for the past couple of years. I really do not know them that well yet, but they have been fine. The price was reasonable. The quality of service is perfect. Everything was just fine. They have done an excellent job. They know what they are doing. They do not take a long time to do it and they are trustworthy and helpful. The work area was totally clean.

After check old filtering cannot be fixed. we bought new filtering system. 9/20 plumber come on time and did good job to do whole thing. Left a note for broken parts.

Extremely well. I have had many service contractor experiences since purchasing my home. Kerivan-Lane has been, hands down, the best. This was a huge project and they managed it beautifully. End-to-end, but most specifically to installation crew, it was awesome - my thanks to Kerivan-Lane!

Kerivan-lane installed an indirect water-heater to replace my old oil-fired water heater Nov. 2015. After installation, it starts having issues. My boiler sometime (intermittent) would trip when water heater calls for hot water. It does't happen that frequently so I didn;t call them until 10 months later. It was then found out by another tech that the wiring of the newly installed relay box was not done properly. The relay box lacks connection to the boiler TT so that although the water heater could work most of the time, but from time to time the boiler would detect that lacking TT connection as a malfunction and trips. I have called Kerivan Lane and asked them to fix this issue but the owner has very rudely rejected to take any responsibility even it is under warranty and they are the ones installed the water heater improperly to begin with. Kerivan lane is a very irresponsible and totally unprofessional company that you should avoid with all means. I am taking them to the small claims court in MA.

Kerivan-Lane put in an air conditioning unit in my house. They were 20% cheaper than other companies for a bigger unit. Their salesman, Kevin was very professional and explained things clearly. The workers were friendly and polite; arrived on time, cleaned up after the job.

They did good work and they were prompt. They're probably a bit more on the premium price side. I would definitely use them again. The guy was very professional. He didn't waste time when he was here. We had a few questions and he answered our questions. They did fair work for a fair price.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now and have finally had a chance. We're in the middle of a complete kitchen remodeling project and we needed to cap and valve/relocate some heating lines because two of the lines were in a wall that we took down and opening up the area from the kitchen space to the living room space and the other two ran to a heater we were looking to have removed/relocated. I had Mike and Ron for support/service and they were both great! Mike was very responsive both by email and by phone, which was really convenient for me since many times I contacted while I was at work through email. I also met with Ron who was very nice and professional, he answered all the questions I had both during the estimate and the day of the scheduled work. When the time came for service we were originally going to have them relocate the lines but since we still had a structural guy scheduled to come in he suggested they cap and valve the lines so that the new heat piping wouldn't interfere with the other workers which I thought was a good idea as well. (This way they wouldn't have to drain the system again). Ron had capped and valved the lines and gave me a call when he had finished up since I had to be at work that day. Another note, since we've started using this site we've found it very helpful to find businesses who are professional and do quality work and have established new relationships with many new businesses, including Kerivan-lane. Give these guys a call, ask for Mike and Ron, they are great thanks guys! Looking forward to having you come out again soon for some more work!

The pipe froze and leaked upon thawing, I was able to shut it off with a cutoff valve, so we still could use all your other faucets. I called Sunday morning and they were swamped. But since it was not an emergency they came later in the week. The plumber was onetime. polite, and thorough and replaced the stem potion of the valve instead of the whole valve which save me some money in labor and material.

Great! Always picks up the phone, great customer service! There were a couple of service call and their technicians were honest, friendly and very knowledgeable. Best oil service in the area hands down!

There are some other things I considered having them do. I do have sort of an open question with them with the other company I used before. For the oil services, they seem pretty good. For other things that they are trying to upsell, I wouldn’t say so good. The oil contract deals means like on par with the others but there are some other things like an augmented heating system that seems incredibly high compared to others and I haven’t moved forward on it at all.

They were the most honest and tried to make the process simple for me.

I would advise other people not to use them. We have nothing but trouble with the burner the first year. They wouldn't stand behind the warranty. They were somewhere around the ballpark. We chose them because a friend of ours recommended them. We called them and they completely blew us off. They said we're out of warranty. It has a 3-year warranty and they refused to come out and replace it. They came on time. Once they installed the system, they had nothing to do with us.

We have been using Kerivan Lane since we moved to our house in November 2013. They take care of our oil deliveries. Our first year in the house, we were new to oil and because we thought that we might have to relocate the oil tank we did not want to fill the tank. This resulted in us draining the oil tank a few times. Kerivan always came out - primed the pump. Despite this really being our fault, Kerivan never gave us any grief. Fast forward a year and our boiler which was very old needed to be replaced. Kerivan assisted us with getting a rebate from the boiler company (as it failed before its time). Kerivan also helped us with the paperwork for the Mass Save loan program which gives an interest free loan for new boilers. We couldn't be more pleased with the boiler. Everything was brought up to code and they sized our boiler correctly for our house. We have overall saved money. Now we are doing two bathroom remodels and Kerivan has helped us every step of the way. We have had great service and Kerivan is very knowledgable. Are they expensive - perhaps. I don't think there are inexpensive plumbers out there - but Kerivan gets the job done and the job done correctly which in my mind ultimately saves money. Kerivan has earned my trust and respect.

It went well. We would use them in the future.

We wanted the extra security of a WAGS valve and pan which will detect any leaks in the future and shutoff water supply. Install was promised for Tuesday and Thomas Maher arrived at 2pm. He did a superb job installing the water heater and WAGS. Mr. Maher was extremely professional. It took about three hours as he overcame some issues. We would hire Kerivan-Lane again based on this experience.

Boiler/hot water heater replacement went perfectly, work was performed punctually and according to estimates. The radiator replacement went reasonably well. Workers were punctual and professional. Unfortunately they didn't bring all the tools they needed. They asked me if I wanted the unit mounted over the baseboard (adding to its profile from the wall) or if I wanted the baseboard cut away from behind the unit. I opted for the latter, but they couldn't do it without a multitool, and made a mess of the job using a reciprocating saw. I ended up having to replace the baseboard on either side of the radiator myself. All the equipment works great, all my interactions with the sales and customer service people were great. It's just that the installation technicians are clearly not finish carpenters.

After receiving a few quotes/options from other well rated service providers we decided to proceed with Kerivan-Lane. We were not disappointed! The team was extremely responsive, and provided us with a few options to replace our old home depot water heater special. Going into this process I was absolutely convinced that I needed a new super efficient direct vent model with all the bells and whistles. However, the team at Kerivan lane explained that the best option for replacement in their opinion (given the water demand/size of our home, location of the existing plumbing, and existing hot water baseboard heating) would be an indirect unit. We proceeded with the indirect and even thought it has only been a week since the install, could not have been happier with our decision. In addition, the day after the install there was a slight leak from our boilers pressure relief valve, Kerivan-Lane sent out a service team the same day and corrected the issue. I am highly impressed, not only with the level of service we have received to date, but am even more impressed with the fact that they 100% could have sold me the more expensive option, but chose to sell me the right (and less expensive) solution for my application. That speaks volumes for this firm. Thanks to Mike and the Service/Install team.

We converted our heating system from oil to gas last spring, and hired Kerivan Lane to install a new forced hot-air furnace and hot water heater. We found them to be responsive, thorough, and conscientious. When working with KL, it?s clear you?re dealing with a serious company with varied capabilities, which is especially helpful where systems (such as air conditioning) that are not part a job are nonetheless affected by it. It also means they have the staff to do follow-up and routine annual servicing. KL doesn?t do everything ? gas plumbing, for example, is outside their expertise ? but they?re happy to recommend others when necessary. KL scheduled a pre-installation visit that resolved a few last-minute questions and ensured a smooth installation. The time required for the installation (three days) came in at the long end of their estimate, but we appreciated the care and throughness. The installers worked full consecutive days. When we found that some of our carpeting had been inadvertently soiled during the installation, KL had it professionally cleaned at no charge to us. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to us KL again.

Kerivan-Lane is the full service company, which charges very high premium for keeping the full staff of technicians. Their oil price is higher than some of their full-service counterparts though, at least four other companies that I contacted. For instance, comparing to MetroWest Oil (the lowest priced full-service company out of those four), K-L charges $.8 per gallon more, to discounted oil companies $1 per gallon more. With my current $.17 discount, my margin was a little bit less. For full disclosure, I had $.25 discount during last winter as part of the first year signing bonus. When I questioned the price being so high, the customer service manager, speaking ?kindly?, told me to find another company to do business with. They tell you that their deliveries take place when your tank approaches ¼ full. However, I got unexpected delivery today, when my tank is almost at ¾ full. I am not sure why they did that, especially during summer, when usage is very low. Their K-L technicians, at least those who did a tune-up and one repair job for me, were all very friendly, nice, accommodating and professional. If it were not for that fact, I would have quit right after the winter season ended. I was contemplating whether or not to write or this review, since I am still their customer. However, I felt that people should have full information about the company before sighing up. I wish somebody wrote the review when I was looking for a provider last year. I may have still decided to be their customer, but it would have been with open eyes.

The provider was very responsive and let me know right away they were heavily booked and could take an appointment 2-weeks and more out. I appreciated that it managed our expectations from the onset. My partner met the vendor's technician. He turned out to be exceptional and very patient considering how many challenges they came across in locating the air-conditioning unit and the roof access to it; it that happened to be in the building next to ours - we are 1 out of 21 apartments distributed between 3-buildings. The management company's facility rep. didn't appear to have basic information. It was very hot and my partner and the tech. spent a lot of time running between 2-buildings to locate our A/C unit. The tech's assessment of a hot water valve not shutting down properly, causing the warm air being blown into our apartment was right on. The management company got the matter resolved a couple of weeks later. We never received a bill from the vendor. My partner called last week and reminded them of the service provided; we received the bill a few days ago. We will use this provider and would highly recommend them.

We had a very good experience with Kerivan-Lane. Our central air had been out for a week and a half. I had called a few providers (including Kerivan-Lane) during the first week and did not hear back from anybody. Then, at the start of the second week, I submitted a request online through the Kerivan-Lane website. I got a call back that afternoon (Monday, 6/22) and scheduled a tech visit for Wednesday, 6/24, which was helpful as we were leaving for vacation on Saturday, 6/27. Wednesday morning first thing, I received a call from Mike at Kerivan-Lane informing me that they had an emergency job, and they'd need to reschedule us for several days later. I shared that we were leaving on Saturday, and that nobody had responded to my initial phone call from the previous week. Mike said to give him a few minutes and he would see what they could do, specifically because nobody had called me back the first time. Mike called back a few minutes later and told us that a service tech who was already working on a job in Needham would stop by to take a look after he finished that job, for which we were grateful. The service tech, Gene, showed up about 30 minutes later and quickly got to work. Within about 10 minutes, he was able to diagnose a faulty delay switch inside the compressor. He recommended that we remove the delay and wire the unit directly, while also replacing our thermostat to a newer model that contained delay circuitry inside it. We agreed, and he did the work, which did not take long. Upon testing the unit, he found that the start run capacitor was also bad, so he replaced that part as well. He then tested the unit and all worked well. One other point to note - Gene noticed that there was melted plastic in the A/C disconnect box, which indicated a potential fire hazard. He recommended we have an electrician take a look, which we did (see separate review). Gene was fast and patient, and explained everything clearly. He said that Kerivan-Lane would send us a bill, which we have not received yet, so I don't know what the cost will be. I am anticipating charges for the service visit (about 1 hour), the thermostat and the capacitor, but for now am giving an n/a rating for price. My only complaint was the lack of response to our initial call (hence the B on responsiveness), and the fact that they were going to reschedule our appointment on very short notice, but I'm happy with how they resolved that situation, and I would use them again.

The plumber was fine - showed up a little early, got right to work, and had the leaky shower fixed promptly. The shower hasn't been an issue since. Oil fill-ups have also been fine. Our issue is with Kerivan-Lane and the reason for the overall "C" grade is their billing practices. We are on their autopay system, meaning they charge our credit card automatically for oil fills - and apparently for service calls, too. We were not told this in advance. Our card was automatically charged for the plumber's work, and we did not see an invoice until several days later. As new customers, we were offered a $50 plumbing discount on our first service; this coupon was not reflected on the bill despite written confirmation from them that it would be. It took 3 weeks for this money to be credited back to our account. Additionally, under our new customer contract with K-L, we are entitled to 2 free years of their oil burner maintenance plan ($329/yr) - so we were surprised last week by a $329 charge on our account for this service. I had to call to remind them that we should not be billed for this plan. They apologized and said the charge would be removed, but I don't know how long it will take. Bottom line their billing/card charging practices are questionable, they don't pay any sort of attention to who should be charged what, and when there is a billing issue, they are ok about fixing it - not particularly prompt or nice about it. TL;DR: I had to follow up with K-L multiple times to remove $379 worth of bogus charges from our bill. They charge your card first, ask questions later.

As a new customer to KL I am quite pleased with the responsiveness of this company. Sean arrived and was very friendly, he spent around and hour and half performing the inspection (new customer) and tune up. Once he was done servicing the system he briefed me on the services performed and reviewed the efficiency test he ran. Oh and as I was walking into the basement he was dusting the boiler, hot water tank and oil tank. It makes me wonder what the company I used last year did as they were only here for 30 min! Thanks for the great service!
