Each job was preformed perfectly. With regards to our new gas line, we had previously called in a plumber who was recommended by a close relative. This fellow came in, gave us a bid, took a deposit of $1,500 and disappeared with our money! In my mind I knew I should have gone to Angie's List first, as we usually do. Our second call was to Kerivan-Lane, Inc., who came out immediately, priced the job way under the "trusted plumber's deposit" and meticulously installed our gas line as evidenced by the city inspector who approved his work the moment he saw it. The other two times we had Kerivan Lane, Inc. out were for a repair we feared would cost over a $1,000 to find and fix. To our delighted surprise, 3 hours later the leak was found and repaired at about one third the anticipated cost. Our third job was to install a water line for our new fridge. Once again their plumber was in and out in a couple of hours, the work done to perfection. . This is one great company, who responds immediately when called, and can be trusted to do impeccable work at a very reasonable cost.,

I had a bad experience with this company quoting a price, dragging me along for a month when they knew I had a deadline to complete the work to get a rebate, and then eventually not honoring the price and asking for more money. I'm proud that I was wise enough to walk away and find a much more honest plumber (St. Jean). The story: After getting a quote from Kevin in mid June, there were a few details missing. I asked a few questions in an email, and received responses a few days later. I was told they would easily be able to finish the job by July 31 for the rebate deadline, so I wasn't initially concerned about this delay in communication. On July 1, I sent an email with the signed contract and asked where I should send the check, and I got no response for a week. I called and found out that Kevin had taken a two week vacation. I spoke with Mr. Lane about scheduling the work so it would be done by the end of July. I was told that Kevin had to do the scheduling when he got back. I was also warned that it may not be done by the end of July but that the rebate would very likely be extended. I was not convinced, but he was right, it was extended. When Kevin did finally return, it took him a few days before he would return my calls/emails. When he did, he emailed me "Unfortunately, due to price increases in the equipment and components for your job, and on our re-evaluation, on how long these jobs are taking to complete, there would have to be an increase in the job to 15,875.00 to install this new boiler." - a $1000 increase. I looked online at the prices for boilers and did not see any substantial increases, so I believe this increase was because he didn't think I had any other choice due to the rebate deadline. Well, I found another plumber (St. Jean) that quoted $12,000 and did an excellent job. We even expanded the work order to re-plumb the whole basement and still paid less than Kerivan-Lane's original quote.

Kerivan-Lane was very responsive, and arrived within 24 hours of my call. He called ahead to say he'd be a few minutes late. He put booties on to protect the floor, and fixed the problem with minimal fuss. Cleaned up so well that my husband could hardly believe we'd had work done. I would definitely use them again.

I was impressed with Kerivan-Lane from the moment I placed the call to get a quote. As a new customer, I was transferred to the owner to take down all my information and tell me about the company. I was scheduled promptly, and the service provider arrived on time. The thing that impressed me the most was the expertise, quality and honesty of the work. Once the provider came to do the replacement, he identified that the part did NOT, in fact, need replaced as the first company diagnosed. He took the time to explain to me how the part works, and demonstrate that it was working. It would've been easy for Kerivan-Lane to go ahead and do the work I'd asked -- replace the part -- and charge me a lot of money for it. Instead, I got a lesson in how my boiler works and a much smaller bill. I will certainly use Kerivan-Lane in the future to do the annual maintenance on my boiler, as well as any other heating and plumbing needs that arise. As I said above, not only was the work of much higher quality (than a well-reviewed Angie's List company), they were very competitively priced.

I have seen KV's trucks all over town but always thought they were an oil burner company. Called them for a kitchen faucet job. The gents at KV set the gold standard for this industry. From booking the appointments over the phone, to them dispensing free advice that could potentially save me a lot of money, to the guys coming over for a service job, everything is above and beyond my expections. I would like to thank Tom and Tim, my technician to put in their expertise and best efforts, for a simple but dirty job. You guys are awesome. And the whole KV team was extremely reliable and professional. Just called them to report on a corrosion on my water heater that National Grid had discovered, instead of saying you should definitely replace the whole thing which is what other companies out there would say and had said, I can count on KV to always ask the question to identify if it's fixable. What a rare find. You will not only have your problems taken care of, save a tons of money, and have the peace of mind in the long run. One more thing, they adjusted my bill and made it $40 cheaper. Unbelievable. It was emailed to me within a day. No hassle, no repeated phone calls from me. They really know how to take care of customers who will stay with them for the long run. From now on, I will only use KV for all of my plumbing needs.

I scheduled an inspection immediately, and the technician was able to fix the issue in no time. It was due to water tracking back from the vent which I could have never guessed. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I am planning to use their services with an annual maintenance plan not just for plumbing, but also for the HVAC system.

Overall, I found Kerivan-Lane extremely easy to work with. It was easy to book an appointment; communication around everything was smooth; the work was done well; follow-up was good. Ron Reitz, the technician who did the work, was very professional, friendly, and communicative. As I mentioned above, it was easy to book an appointment, and it was also easy to reschedule when I realized that I had a scheduling conflict. I was advised to keep a 4-hour window open, but would receive a call when the plumber was on the way. This worked well and went smoothly. Ron came to replace my kitchen faucet and to fix a couple of leaky spots in my shower. It turned out that my shower handle needed to be replaced and he had the parts on hand to do the job. He showed me how the old handle was corroded inside. With the new parts, there are no more leaks. The new kitchen faucet looks great and works well, too. I am really happy with the quality of the work performed. Ron also had the courtesy to take the trash generated from the work off the premises, so I didn't have to clean up after him. I really appreciated that. Our condo has worked with many contractors and it is always a drag when they leave garbage! My sense is that this is a company with high standards for not just the work itself, but for how the company is run. I was impressed with the level of communication and professionalism, from the person who initially took my call to the plumber to the general manager of the company. I'd say this is a good operation!

The plumber was very professional, friendly, arrived on time, completed the work fairly quickly. This was one of only a few firms/plumbers that was willing to come by without any "emergency fees" and provided a reasonable estimate before beginning the work.

I got estimates from 3 companies plus Next Step Living for the job. Kerivan-Lane quoted highest. This is a fantastic company. Phil Halverson came to my house and and quoted the job and did the installation along with Michael Kelly. They were friendly, respectful, clean and meticulous. The 2 day installation was completed yesterday. They tested the system and patiently showed me how to operate it. I would, without hesitation, recommend this company.

We discovered neither of the outdoors sump pumps worked in our new home after we had some basement and garage flooding. I chose the company based on reviews here. They were prompt, polite, explained everything that needed to be done, and came in almost $200 under the quote! Prior to this work, they also fixed a leak with the water meter, and coordinated everything timely with the town as far as having the water to the house shut off and then turned back on. And again, came in under quote! We will definitely use them again should we have the need; and are considering switching to them as our oil supplier given the excellent service they've provided.

Tony was the tech who came out to do the serivce call. He was very professional. He introduced himself and explained what he was going to do. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it. He was efficient, neat and clean. The furnace is up and running. Kerivan Lane followed up with a call to see how the furnace was working. I'm very pleased with the results. Thank you Kerivan Lane for a job well done.

Once again the people at Kerivan-Lane have done a thorough and professional job! I have two oil burners in my home. They reminded me of my annual tuneup, which I had forgotten. They arrived on time, did the job and cleaned up afterwards so that everything looked perfect. I couldn't be happier. I have never had such an easy time dealing with a contractor and the price was right.

I was very happy to find Kerrivan-Lane. Following a thorough walk through of our home they followed up with a detailed quote of the necessary work. Prior to the "go-date" the Project Manager came out for a pre-inspection. The service team was excellent, polite and courteous. Had them over to give me a quote they said I will have it in 2 days after 2 weeks when i didn't get it I called them and they gave me a quote.The quote they gave me was good for 30 and when i wanted to have the work done it was past the 30 days so they had to redo the quote, they had me wait for almost 3 weeks for that quote and then it was $3500 higher then the original one they gave me. I asked if they can try and come down in price a little and Kevin promised to call me back the next day with an answer he never called back. I ended up using a different company for the job and am very happy with their work job was over $3000 less then what I was quoted by kerivan Lane for the same exact job.

Brought in K-L who gave us a competitive estimate. Everyone on the phone was friendly, helpful and courteous, which is extremely important given a stressful situation.We set up a time for the repair. The only downside is that it had to get pushed back a couple of times because a part was not available, but I got the impression that it was the supplier's issue, not K-L's. We received a call each time to reschedule. We are very happy with the work.

Anthony, the Kerivan Lane technician, arrived on time and cleaned out and tested the efficiency of our oil burner.I was interested in Fujitsu Ductless Heating and Cooling System. Anthony took time to explain how the system works.He also helped me confirm the age of our oil tank and oil burner. He did his work quietly and professionally. We have used Kerivan Lane since 1976. They are great. This is a family owned business that you can count on.

Our outdoor water faucet would not turn off -- of course this happened Sunday night at 8pm. The indoor shut off valve to that faucet was rusted shut. I called Kerivan-Lane and they came Monday by noon. Tim was extremely professional and polite. He explained exactly what happened and how he was going to fix it. He put in a much better system. We were thrilled.

After rescheduling to start a day later, they showed up, did high quality work in a little less time than they estimated. It's still workingflawlessly a couple of months later, which is enough time to merit a good review.The guys were courteous, professional, and likable.

The person calling back did so in a short time and was very polite. The problem was that even though listed as heating and plumbing Kerivan could offer no plumbing service this wkend.

Ron Reitz and Dave Clemments performed the installation. They arrived timely, cleaned up after themselves, and were finished by the end of the day! They did excellent work. Very friendly and professional.

They came promptly as scheduled and performed the work in an efficient manner, explaining the process in a way that I understood. I have found them to be honest, efficient, and reliable.

We have been using them for six years. We chose them because of the cost of their contract. Their prices are competitive and they provide a good service. We can always count on them and we are rarely aware of their presence. They just come on a regular schedule and fill up the tanks from the exterior of the house. The only way I knew they were here was because the dog barked. We’ve never had a problem. They offer a service once a year to come in and check our furnace. They contact us; we don’t have to think about it. I emphatically recommend them.

Phil Halverson and Gene Gutu were the most informative, friendly and professional technicians I have ever hired. Any question, no matter how redundant, they answered (especially Phil) with patience and great knowledge. It was a big job, three mini split units in a loft. They had to get creative, there is just an open ceiling (the classic high ceiling 'loft' concept) so they devised a great plan to run the ac lines along the beams etc so they blended in with the already existing piping etc one usually sees in a loft ceiling. I really appreciated that they not only are professionals but took the extra time to think outside the box and problem solve creatively. The work was intense, 3 long days and a short morning to finish up. But they were clean, careful and considerate... and most of all thorough. I would rather have the job done right than done quickly. They included me in every step of the process, keeping me updated. Their quote was fair, they were not the cheapest, nor were they the most expensive. I went with K-L because they actually considered the space and my lifestyle when they designed the project and estimate. Their solutions were what I was hoping for. That is why they got my business and that is why I will, with 100% confidence, recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC, hot water or plumbing work. The mini splits are excellent and work great, they are a lifestyle changer. Highly recommended as well if you do not have duct-work in your house already.
