KV is my go to guys and they never fail to deliver the fastest most effective efficient service. Mike M always put his customer first, so is the entire KV team. Ron R came to unclog my kitchen sink within an hour of my request. He did it in a few minutes. The job is done flawlessly. And he gave good advice about other things in my house. Another small job done well, KV!

From quote to install, Kerivan Lane was a pleasure to work with. Jack Lane came out and scoped the system. We have a difficult house to install anything into as there is almost no dead space to run lines or wiring. Our house can get very hot in the summer and we have picture and casement windows which leaves us with limited options for air conditioning. Jack and the KL team were very creative and came up with a great design to cool our house and provide supplemental heating for the winter which will hopefully lower our oil heating costs. Kerivan Lane's quote was not the cheapest but it was not even close to the most expensive quote we obtained. Their quote was very reasonable for the design and the systems we needed installed, especially given the challenges at our house. They were also very helpful working with Massaves for our HEAT loan and filling out the paperwork for the rebates from Fujitsu. Phil, Gene and Mike from KL did a fantastic job on the installation. They were very professional and a really nice group of guys to have working in our house. Phil came out ahead of the install date to do a site survey and answer all of our questions There was some tricky work in our walk in closet and a small hallway ceiling. Phil, Gene and Mike covered our clothes with drop cloths and left the closet spotless. We are extremely happy with the quality of the Fujitsu systems and the work that KL did at our house. We would definitely use them again.

Consulted and advised us on the best course of action and products to replace our existing furnace that failed. Installation work was very good and project was completed in a timely manner. Had to tweak the furnace settings a few times but they came back and got the job done. We have also used them for home heating oil for and plumbing repairs nearly eight years. Good company and good people.

We had been given the runaround by the insurance company for almost 2 months. Both companies assigned by the insurance company told me different thing than they told the insurance company, and were not responding at all to my questions. The insurance company refused to pay, even after a reassessment. Kerivan Lane was prompt and professional. They diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it a week later. It was expensive, but worth it. I would use them again

I initally called them about a clogged shower drain. After telling them that 2 other plumbers couldn't fix the clog, they referred me to a drain company who was able to finally fix the problem. That experience was so positive that when our toilet broke, I called them about replacing it. They helped us pick out a replacement toilet and gave us a quote for installing it and removing the old toilet. They were upfront that the cost might be more if there was a problem with the flange, but fortuantely there was not and they were able to replace the toilet with no problem.

He did great. He did the job quickly and gave me a lot of information regarding the issue we were having. He cleaned out the motor and reset the valve and it's been working better ever since.

We had a faucet that wasn't producing hot water and an HVAC unit that wasn't blowing. We were expecting a large bill to get these functions working. Instead, they showed up, blew out the HVAC unit and got the faucet working in under an hour. They only charged us $85, even though they could have gotten away with far more, since we had no idea what was going on and had to have both of these working. Restored hot water. They probably lost money on this appointment but secured my future business.

Kerivan-Lane was prompt and professional. Scheduling was very organized. Quickly diagnosed and performed repairs. Price seemed fair. Quality of work was good (as far as I can tell). You got the feeling from them that they really had their act together start to finish.

Very satisfied with the installations. The new kitchen sink disposal unit and faucet look great and function properly. Employees are professional and do high quality work. We've used the company for other plumbing jobs and have been very satisfied.

We switched to them because they charged a dollar less a gallon compared to another provider we were using. It's the best price that my husband found. The service was good. They answered all my husbands questions.

Ron, the Kerivan-Lane plumber was professional and helpful, and completed the work efficiently. The billing was done via both mail and email, and the payment of the reasonable price for the work done was simple to do on the company's website. It was high quality service on a relatively simple project.

This is a challenging review in that Kerivan Lane is a well run family business and the people who run and work at this firm are good and I think very well intended. However, as described below I was disappointed with the product I purchased and the results I got from working with them. I knew that my boiler replacement for my home steam heating system was more complex than average. I selected Kerivan Lane believing that as a larger and more knowledgeable local firm with numerous high Angie's List ratings that I might pay a bit more, but would get a good installation with few issues or problems. Unfortunately, this isn't what happened. I learned that Kerivan Lane (as do many of their competitors) rely on technical representatives from the boiler companies (in this case Burnham) to identify requirements, design a system, and for advise on installation. Kerivan Lane employs highly skilled technical installers but has limited knowledge of the product and systems operation itself. The Burnham rep designed a system that included an external pump to maintain the water level in the new boiler. The pump is noisy and in my opinion not suited to a home. Kerivan Lane ultimately built a "muffler" to have contain the noise. While I appreciate this work I would not have purchased this boiler / pump configuration had I understoood what was being installed up front. Also, when the boiler was first installed and for the first several weeks I had a loud clanging noise that would come from my boiler as it cycled. It took me weeks of chasing Kerivan Lane to get this addressed. It was only after I sent a home video documenting the problem that I got corrective action. Another aspect of my installation was to correct issues that prevented certain rooms in my house with radiators from heating (where I rely on space heaters). Kerivan Lane identified some pipe routing issues that they told me they would fix as part of my install and that these would correct the heating issue to these rooms. These piping changes were made but they had no impact on the heating performance to these rooms. This is another reason that I was disappointed. I don't think they are really heating engineers/experts, just installers. Overall, I was surprised by the level of chasing I had to do to resolve my problems. My personal belief is that Kerivan Lane didn't know what to do. Thet knew how to install, but were not expert in the product. I've given up on other lesser issues (balance of temperatures across my house) basically because I'm tired of chasing them. Separately, Kerivan Lane installed a new hot water heater. They put in a nice product that heats evenly and is an upgrade from what I had. I appreciate that. If I had it to do over again and with hindsight, I'd have asked harder questions about the replacement equipment and ultimately searched further before making a choice. I was concerned about going another winter with my 40+ year old inefficient gas boiler. However, in many ways that old boiler performed better than the new one I now have. Additional comments: 1) readers should note that I first contacted KL to quote a new system late summer 2012. By the time the quote was was prepared and accepted by me and parts were received for work to begin it as November. The final adjustments (still leaving me less than fully satisfied) were not completed until March. The vendor may have provided me his number, but it's not like they returned calls immediately. Full weeks were lost before replies at every step of the process. I paid in full on time as invoiced. I wonder if I'd have gotten better results if I had withheld payments until I was fully satisfied? 2) When I was comparing vendor quotes this provider would not disclose the parts component (vs labor) up front. I believe this was to prevent me from looking up parts prices on the Internet which are widely listed. However, by not disclosing these I wasn't able to see the pump that I can't stand. Had they been more transparent and provided more information up front I might have been able to make a more informed purchase decision. 3) The vendor reply implies no responsibility for the boiler that they sold and it's design shortcomings. My payment was to KL, not Burnham. KL needs to own this. I have pumps for basement drainage that run silently. They are marvels of technology. Why can't my boiler have a similarly quiet pump? I may never know.

Called a few plumbers from Angie's list to install a new kitchen faucet, one of those faucets with the sensors etc, not your average install. The team at Kerivan-Lane was very responsive, the plumber, Ron, showed up when they said he would and did a great job installing the faucet. There was a manufacturer defect and the faucet leaked (no fault of the plumbers) and they came right back out to assess and resolve the problem.They were great and we will definitely use for future plumbing jobs.

The plumber arrived the first day and did some thorough diagnostics and even took pictures to bring back to show his supervisor. And when he came back to do the final fix, if he was not sure, I believe he called a supervisor to walk him through what he was doing - that kind of resource is invaluable. But he forget to properly bolt down the toilet when he was done and a second service call was necessary to address it. No additional charge of course but I did have to take additional time from work to have it fixed. I'd recommend them for sure - I felt like they are an honest and professional company.

Replaced older oil heating system with natural gas system. I purchased the boilers through the National Grid Massachusetts High Efficiency Heating Program. Total job took about a week. Kerivan-Lane was excellent. They worked efficiently and kept us informed throughout. They handled most of the paperwork with National Grid and all of the permits with the Town. Each day they also cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Kerivan-Lane.

On both occasion, they quickly returned our phone call, were able to accommodate our schedules, and came very quickly. They fixed the problem and explained what was going on, while being very friendly and professional. They sent us reasonably priced and clear invoices. We will definitely call on them again and would recommend them!

When called, their sales person visited very quickly, looked at the situation in detail, made recommendations. The written quote arrived several days later, and was less that we had expected based on the initial call. Installation took place about a week later, and took two days. The team leader was extremely competent, and as a result of discussions with him, we identified the need for a separate zone for an office area that was always cold. The new furnace and piping were installed with a minimum of disruption, and the crew cleaned up thoroughly. As a result, the office area, and the reset of the house are more comfortable than ever before. The entire experience excellent, and every person involved was very professional.

Great service. Easy to schedule and showed up on time. Very professional. I had a list of things to look at and he was able to tell me what he could do and he could not. Some tasks were outside the scope of their services. I appreciated the honesty. He was also able to do the other repairs for less money than I expected. Great work. I have already recommended them to a friend.

Ron was great -professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Our furnace is very old, but he didn't try to sell us a new one. He found the problem and repaired it quickly. Reasonable prices, great service.

My Wife and I purchased a home with a +55 year old Oil Boiler last year that we knew was on borrowed time. Well just after Christmas of 2012, it was on it's way out. I called Kerivan-Lane, Inc to come give me an estimate for the work. That's when I was impressed for the first time. Their sales consultant was very professional, on-time and told us exactly what we needed and what needed to be done. He also assisted us in going through the MassSave program. On the day the work was scheduled to start, They arrived ontime and first thing they did was put plastic everywhere they would be working to protect my house and belongings from damage, then they got right to work removing the old unit, and installing the new boiler and Indirect Hot water system. I was home during the install and would just check up on them every couple of hours just to see how things were going, they were working cleanly picking up as they went. Answered any questions that I had and were very friendly. The complete install took a total of 2 days, which I knew was a big job to begin with and they did not hit anything major in terms of problems. Overall I was very happy with the service, product's and the professionalism from Kerivan-Lane for the amount of money that I paid for. Would Highly recommend them to anyone with Oil Heat and/or Oil Service.

Because the manufacturer does not produce the original tank any longer, Kerivan-Lane took the extra step of researching our options and determined that we could use the more recent version of the tank as a replacement. This strategy saved us the cost of replacing the entire toilet. The work was done promptly and professionally and we are very pleased.

We purchased a fixer upper home that had, among other issues, a leaking oil tank and a furnace that probably hadn't seen service in years. In any case, we chose to do an oil to gas conversion. Kerivan-Lane's job was to drain and remove the oil tank, remove the furnace, and install a gas boiler plus an indirect hot water heater that would run off the gas. We quoted this work with multiple companies and Kerivan-Lane's quote was the most reasonable. I also liked how thorough and detailed the quote was. Here are a variety of things we liked about Kerivan-Lane's work and service: *They answer their phone, set up appointments in the near future, and keep their appointments. *Their crew is knowledgeable about the products that they sell and install. *Their crew is committed to making sure that the install gets done on time. Our renovation was complex involving multiple contractors. Timelines and deadlines shifted and impacted one another. Kerivan-Lane was willing to be adaptable when another contractor's deadline forced Kerivan-Lane to work faster. In addition, when a snag in the install threatened whether we would have hot water, the crew worked late to fix it to ensure that we would have hot water. *The communication from the crew was very good. They have been trained to explain what they are doing and why they are doing it to the customer. In addition, they always communicated if they were going to be late, or if there was a delay, and they communicated the reason. *At the very beginning, before any work began, it looked like our deal on the house might fall through due to completely unforeseeable circumstances -- we might not get the house after all. I had already sent Kerivan Lane the deposit and we had already scheduled a date to begin work. Kerivan-Lane was very flexible and understanding; they held the check (did not deposit it) and delayed the start of the work until the closing finally went through. We were very pleased with Kerivan-Lane's work and would use them again.
