We came across Kerivan-Lane via Angie's List while researching for providers to do our heating conversion. From start to finish, the Kerivan-Lane team was very professional. We first met with Kevin McClay who came to our home for a consultation. Kevin was very knowledgeable and took the time to better understand and assess our needs, and eventually made equipment recommendations that best suited our needs. After the home consultation, it took several contact attempts for us to get our written proposal - it took close to two weeks for us to get it even though we were initially told it would take about a week. Kerivan-Lane's proposal was certainly not the lowest priced, but we felt comfortable with Kevin and the quality of service that would be provided. After accepting Kerivan-Lane's proposal, we worked with Mike McDonald to schedule the job as we worked with National Grid to bring the gas line over to our home and get the meter installed. The week of the conversion, we worked with Gene Gutu and Peter Aurelio. There is a reason why Kerivan-Lane's pricing was not the lowest - Gene's and Peter's service and workmanship was outstanding! In fact, throughout the entire process, Gene and Peter worked on the conversion without us being home. We felt very comfortable with them and trusted them to do the job correctly without us being home. This was great since we didn't have to take time off from work especially since the job took almost 5 days. At the end of each day, we got a call from Peter with an update on the progress made and letting us know they were done for the day. Overall, we were very satisfied with Kerivan-Lane and their team.

They came as scheduled & did the work with a minimum of fuss. I have used this company for 30 years. The price may look high but it was a top-of-the-line heater, included install, and removal of overflow.

Kerivan-Lane gets a 10! Of the 4 or 5 companies who gave me estimates for installing a new gas furnace & indirect hot water heater in my 2-bedroom ranch, Kerivan-Lane gave me the most knowledgeable & practical advice (they were also the only ones who actually measured the existing baseboards). They steered me away from a high efficiency to a standard efficiency unit as more suited to my needs and gave me a competitive estimate. Throughout the project they were highly professional, efficient and courteous. They were done within a few days and I couldn't be more pleased with the final product. We are very pleased with every aspect of this project with Kerivan-Lane. We had one single zone (SYS 12RLS2) and one multi zone (AOU18RLXFZ) Fujtsu ductless AC system installed at a cost of $8,620.00. We are very happy to have an excellent product with install at a great price. Jack Lane and his team were very helpful in every respect, assisting with rebates and a Mass Save loan. Unfortunately we experienced a very distressing family emergency at our home on the day of install. We are very appreciative of the way Philip Halverson and his team were extraordinarily understanding and compassionate. In every respect the entire install crew was truly exceptional.

Tom showed up on time as promised and jumped right into getting things fixed. He suggested right away that we needed to call the town to have the water shutoff at the street. while we waited for that to happen. Tom suggested to install a shutoff valve after the water meter which I agreed with and actually wanted to do since I bought the house, because there wasn't one to begin with. The Job took a total of 2 hours total and Tom was very professional through the entire process, and I was very happy with the service and also have piece of mind now that I don't have to worry about water leaks in my basement anymore.

We found Kerivan-Lane on Angies list and were very impressed with the reviews We first used K-L for a small plumbing job. They were very responsive in scheduling a convenient appointment. Tom Maher came out, was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and solved an ongoing problem. Terrific service that inspired us to contact Kerivan-Lane for conversion to gas heat. Kevin McClay came to discuss the heating conversion options. We evaluated gas boilers and an indirect water heater. Kevin was informative, professional & followed up promptly with information to help us make our decision. Overall, he educated us about the process. Kevin helped us schedule the project and provided invaluable referrals to other necessary services including asbestos removal, chimney lining, oil tank removal. We were very pleased with all those to whom he referred us - top quality. Over the course of three days, Gene Gutu oversaw the installation which was coordinated with the chimney lining, and relocation of vent into chimney. His assistant, Chris A. was excellent also. Gene went above and beyond when he sealed the oil fill holes with concrete and removed a piece of equipment from the attic that was no longer needed with our new system. They left the basement immaculate. Gene was an extraordinary professional and a pleasure to work with. John Eburn was helpful with the rebate process. After the project was finished, Chris Lane, the general manager, called to make sure everything had gone smoothly. We also spoke with John Lane. We highly recommend Kerivan-Lane.

The folks at Kerivan-Lane are fantastic. From start to finish their work was professional, timely, and accommodating. I was able to get an estimate within a day of calling. The technician went over the entire process with me and patiently answered all of my questions. I was then able to schedule the installation at the earliest date I was available; Phil, the same technician who had done the estimate came back to do the installation (Pat assisted). Phil solicited my input for many of installation decisions and let me know which parameters of the installation were set so as not to compromise the equipment's functionality. Part of the installation was inside, and Phil and Pat were very respectful of my home. Their workmanship is neat and tidy, and all the pieces were installed securely (frankly, I wish I could hire Phil for every home improvement or repair job I need done). The electrical work was separate, but Kerivan-Lane coordinated with an electrician so that the installation process was streamlined; the electrician's work was also excellent and well-priced. Finally, Kerivan-Lane completed all the forms needed for me to receive my energy-star rebate (they sent me the forms to sign and included a stamped, addressed envelope!). If you go with Kerivan-Lane, you will be taken care of. Overall: quality of work is excellent, price is reasonable, technicians and office folks are delightful.

Last August we had extended family visit for a week, and a few weeks later noticed an occasional drip in the kitchen ceiling. The dripping became more frequent over another couple of weeks, and we eventually realized a small part of kitchen ceiling was starting to bubble a little. Alarmed by this, I started calling around for plumbers, as this was now right around the beginning of what was to become Hurricane Sandy, and with the bad weather forecast we were worried about whether the water damage could get even worse. When I called Kerivan-Lane in the morning they said they were getting a lot of calls because of the upcoming storm, and would get back to me soon with an estimated time of when they could come by. I got a call back soon after that a plumber could be in later that morning (which was great - I was just hoping for something that week) - he came and figured out the upstairs bathroom toilet was the source. This made sense because when family was with us that bathroom got a lot more use than usual - he explained that the seal around the toilet had become worn and cracked, but we probably hadn't noticed anything because any leak would dry between uses. It was exacerbated with the additional bathroom use, however, and we only noticed when the drip developed in the kitchen ceiling below. He fixed everything on the spot, cleaned up after, and provided a detailed explanation of what the issue was and how he addressed it. When I asked about the kitchen ceiling, he gave me his assessment of the extent of damage from the leakage (fortunately not bad, actually), and even some ideas of how we might consider dealing with it! I was extremely impressed that Kerivan-Lane got someone out to us literally within a couple of hours of my phoning with such a severe storm brewing - when I mentioned it to the plumber he said they were trying to take care of as many calls as possible before the storm and had even arranged to bring in staff that weren't scheduled to work those days so they could deal with all the calls. Wow! Bathroom leak has not been a problem since, and I called Kerivan-Lane a few months later to deal with a different plumbing issue (shower faucet related) and they did a great job then as well. The pricing was very reasonable, since they gave a special rate per hour for Angie's List members. Great service, very fair price, excellent timing - we were extremely pleased with them.

A great experience! It took a few weeks to get an appt (due to the heat wave and Mass Save program), but once Jack came out to give an assessment/quote, it was smooth sailing! Jack came out on a Friday and worked with me to come up with a solution (which was not easy given the layout of my old building). Within a week, I had AC installed and operating! The installation team led by Phillip was also great! Phillip worked with me to come up with the best solution and kept me informed throughout the process. They made the whole process easy and trouble-free - and definitely work together with the customer to make sure it was what I wanted. I would highly recommend Kerivan to anyone!

I noticed my water heater started putting out slightly off color water. Brought in one plumber who said the water heater was on its way out and quoted me $1800 for replacement (10yr warrantied equipment and install). Brought in Kerivan-Lane on neighbor recommendation and the also said, off color water indicating water heater needed replacement and quoted me $1295 for the job (again with 10yr warrantied equipment and install) so I went with them. They showed up on time with two guys who installed the new water heater and hauled out the old one in about an hour and a half. They also answered my questions around maintenance and operation of the water heater (for instance, if I need to shut it off in an emergency etc). I'm quite pleased. The price seemed about right what I was expecting and have had no issues with it since then. Hopefully will get a long life out of this one but when it needs replacing again or if I have any other plumbing projects, I'll call Kerivan-Lane. UPDATE: I've now had Kerivan-Lane come out for two additional jobs and they continue to excel.

Technician found the system was plumbed incorrectly causing the burner to run excessively. He repaired the plumbing and replaced the hot water tank.

There was no written quote or details around the work and products after I called asking for it. I called Jack back and asked for more details and he told me that was not possible. He informed me that the work was a package, so there are no details that he could provide. I told him that the work seemed expensive and he agreed that it was. I wanted the quote in writing and he said he'd get that to me immediately. It's a month later and my assumption here is that Kerivan Lane did not want the business. No follow up and no additional contact. If they are not going to be responsive during the sales process, then i'm definitely not going to trust that they will do the same during the delivery. Overall, I'm disappointed at their level of customer engagement here. We eventually worked with Needham Heating and Plumbing, who was highly responsive and reasonably priced. We received their quote on a Thursday and had the tank installed less than two weeks later.

When I spoke with Chris and Steve on the phone this morning, they were both so pleasant and professional. They did not know if they would have someone available before the end of the week, however, I received a call from Tony who said Chris asked him to stop by and see if there was a simple solution to the problem. Tony called and let me know when he would be arriving. He immediately diagnosed the problem, demonstrated what I should do to change the filter safely, and gave me a little air conditioning tutorial! I could not praise this company enough. I wish they were available for any home repair services needed. They are a class act!

Great! We needed this done quickly as we had another job staring. I received a quote over the phone and then an email. Chris Lane personally took my calls and was very responsive. Phil who was the person doing the job was great. They needed to run the lines in the garage and I thought I moved things of the way, I did not move enough. The amazing part was Phil put everything back neater than when he got there. Their bill was exactly what they quoted and Phil actually started to explain why it wasn't less than the quote. We do not use KL for any other services but I am thinking about moving propane and heating oil over. I would have scored the pricing a B+ if I had the option. I did receive another quote for approximately the same price, but KL has superior client service. Phil is a true professional and did a first rate job!

They did a very good job. Initially, the first person they sent had trouble fixing the drain due to inexperience, but the second time they sent someone with more experience and he was able to get the problem fixed and there was no charge for the second service call since it was more their issue. They knew exactly what the trouble was and they were able to send someone out to correct the mistake and they were very honest about the whole situation being on their end. Both serviceman were very nice and I appreciated the efforts and everything was fixed immediately. The work was done well in the end and the price was fair overall.

On time, knowledgable and friendly. Services were provided quickly and provider was very neat. I'm pleased with the service and will definitely use them again if needed.

They responded promptly, had to send the motor to be rebuilt, had it back later in the day, heat restored. Very satisfied.

The folks from Kerivan Lane were extremely professional and competent. Our initial appointment was scheduled for earlier in the week, but due to the heavy rainstorm their employees were running a bit late to work. They called us first thing in the morning to let us know and see if it would impact our schedule and if so if we wanted to reschedule. We rescheduled, they came right on time, fixed everything that needed fixing, and did it all with politeness and a smile despite the ridiculous heat that day. I would definitely recommend Kerivan Lane for any plumbing jobs and plan to use them again in the future should the need arise.

I called to report that the hot water tank was leaking. A technician arrived within 30 minutes to help turn off the water & advise me of options & prices. They could have replaced the heater immediately, but I wanted a bigger tank which they did not have with them. They were able to install the next morning & were here before 9:00 as promised. Both technicians, Ron & Pete were highly professional and very helpful. While they were here they also made adjustments to a leaking toilet to stop the leak. I use Kerivan Lane for our oil heat & have consistently had professional, timely assistance.

Our gas water heater died h****** memorial weekend just before a big party we had planned. I had no knowledge of gas water heaters and the tech, while sounding sleepy (it was past 11:30pm on saturday evening), was polite and thorough in calming down my panic about how to shut off the thing and handle it's rampant leaking into my basement. He asked me to call him back after I was going to see if I could get a hose to drain the heater, offering to come out himself if need be. He had me email their emerg. services a photo of the service decal so they could be ahead of the game as regards my warranty. Kerivan then called me before 8am on tuesday (after the holiday) to offer options to consider. I was impressed with their promptness and especially the emerg. tech on-call. My husband chose another company or else I would have strongly considered Kerivan as I hunted for multiple offers thru the List.

I couldn't be happier with Kerivan Lane. We found them through Angie's List and throughout the whole process I was impressed by their great attention to customer service. I can see why people give them such high reviews! We used them to get a quote last year and then decided not to do the work. When we decided to install the ductless ac this spring, we called them up, they pulled out our file, and immediately we were able to pick up where we left off in planning the project. They were well organized on their end and everyone at the company appeared to work well together. Phil and Peter installed the systems in 3 days. I was very confident leaving them in the house alone to do the work and was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was everyday when I got home. They were very open to communicating over the phone about the project and answered any questions I had.
