Description of Work: Recently, as part of selling my house, the prospective buyer had a question about the roof. I called Bob Scribner at GF Sprague and he arrived at my house within 10 minutes. He explained the issue and offered to talk with the buyer. He also quickly provided a letter to the prospective buyer stating that the warranty for the roof would be transferred to the buyer. Great guy and fast, professional service!

Description of Work: Removed old roof shingles and replaced with new shingles and watrproof membrane 9 feet from the edge of the roof.

Description of Work: They replaced a section of shingles including ice dam protection, gutters and siding around a dormer to protect from future water damage. They came promptly to do the estimate and right on time for the work. We later noticed a piece of metal that had not been removed. They were there to fix it within 24 hours.

Description of Work: Hired to remove snow and ice dams from roof. Quoted price for 2 men for 2 hrs. Arrived with 4 men for one hour, thereby creating more wasted man-hours during set-up and take-down of ladder, etc. Had been told in advance that the job would be only for two hours and might not complete what was needed. Of course, it wasn't completed.

Description of Work: They gave me an estimate on replacing my roof, some chimney work, etc. They were very impressive and seem to be top notch as they have been in business for a very long time. However, the estimate was way too expensive for me.

Description of Work: They were fine but way too pricey. We felt taken advantage of when they added some minor things at the end to an already bloated price. It would have been better if they had just folded the extra $500 or so into the price as it was something we could not verify because it was on the roof.

Description of Work: Mark, from G.F. Sprague came by to help us diagnose a "rogue" leak in our kitchen which we thought cam from our roof. After 45 minutes of intense investigation he came up with what he thought had occurred. He thinks the leak is from a broken internal plumbing pipe. He gave us contact information for the type of plumber that could fix the problem. When we asked what we owed him for the consultation-he said we did not owe him any money. All he asked was for us to consider using G.S. Sprague if we have any roofing issues. He was so thorough and professional you can bet we will call them. Not many companies give this kind of service today. Than you, Mark!

Description of Work: In a pinch we reached out for help with ice dams, the only thing that was done was to remove initial layer of snow off roof and then left. very over priced and problem returned worse!

Description of Work: I hired them twice to shovel snow from my roof. They came twice, and they did a good job, but very expensive. I later got an estimate for some roof repair work but it was really expensive and I decided to pass.

Description of Work: The proprietor seemed very knowledgeable and confident. He then presented us with what we have since found out was an outrageously high proposal. He pressured us very hard to sign right away and said we couldn't get the work done if we didn't immediately sign. It made us very uncomfortable. When we later used the 3 day cancellation right clearly in the contract he went absolutely bananas. He refused any compensation and sued us -- only to not even show up in court. He also offered us a 5% discount on the project to fill out a flattering review on this site so beware of other write ups. They are clearly bought and paid for.
