Our building is over 100 years old and located on a small lot at a busy intersection without off-street parking. Sprague was one of only two or three companies that were willing to work on our gutters. We are so glad we hired them. They did a fantastic job. I would say that this was one of the best experiences we have ever had with a contractor. Unlike other contractors we have hired, Sprague did not employ subcontractors. Every person with whom we interacted was personable, accessible, and highly skilled. Mark, the original contact person, made several visits to our building and attended one of our monthly coop meetings to give a detailed presentation on the various options available to us. Jamie and Konnor, who did the bulk of the installation work, were outstanding. In various ways, they all went above and beyond the basics of their jobs. There was a slight delay before the work started because of serious storms in March, but once it started, the work proceeded quickly and efficiently in spite of ongoing weather-related interruptions. In addition, Jamie and Konnor worked quietly-- as quietly as possible when doing a gutter replacement-- and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every day. On the few occasions when a problem arose, they were responsive and respectful. When they encountered issues requiring work beyond the original contract, they kept us informed and charged us fairly. Our new gutters are beautifully crafted of heavy, high-grade copper, expertly installed, and guaranteed to work for decades. I am confident they will keep us dry for many years to come, and they look gorgeous. Sprague's copper gutters have transformed a routine, unpleasant, dreaded maintenance headache into a source of excitement and pride for us.

I called them & this dumb woman booked the appt 3 weeks away! They called a week before the appt and said the guy that was suppose to come, can't! But someone else will take it if I wait another 3 weeks! Really? This idiot woman shouldn't have booked me so far out but I excepted the appt, then to call a week before to tell me he can't make it but if I'm willing to wait another 3 weeks someone can come. I don't need this company, there are many contactors that are timely and much more professional. So far on Angie's list I have found only one professional that was just that. I think Angie's list is worse than CL. And if I was you I would stay away from this company

Our overhang was leaking severely during heavy rains. At first it was not completely clear where the water was coming from. When Steve came over during a rain he was able to see that water was coming down beside the downspout. Paul then showed up on time to repair and reroute the downspout. He even removed, replaced and primed some of the wood that had rotted out. That was not in the initial scope of the job so we are grateful for that. We need to experience a heavy rain to be sure it is fixed but I am pretty confident they fixed the problem.

GF Sprague is an excellent company. It was clear from the beginning of our experience that they pride themselves in customer service. They were responsive and attentive to all of our questions and concerns and did a thorough job explaining what needed to be done and the type of materials that would be used to solve our roof issue. The work was done in a timely manner and Paul (our project manager) was available throughout the process and afterward. We were very satisfied and would definitely use them again in the future.

When I called for an estimate Steve same out and looked at my roof. I was impressed that he went up on a ladder to look closely at what needed replacing. He also took pictures to show me what he saw. I scheduled the work and when Jake Pedro came out he was great. He was on time did the work and cleaned up the area. He also took pictures to show me the work. The price was reasonable as I had another estimate that was higher.

They did a fantastic job. They needed to cut through some rafters to install the skylight and they did a nice job of framing and also strengthening the supporting structure around the window. They did a great job of putting the shingles back on the roof and cleaning up the site afterwards.

First visit was very professional, arranged to return in a few days with proposal. Wanted to talk with condominium superintendent. We thought that was important. But when he got here, the proposal was on an IPad. He refused to print it out. Said he wouldn't give us a hardcopy until we agreed to sign it. We asked how he thought we were going to think about it with nothing to look at. He became very argumentative. Insisted that we were giving him no reason to need hard copy. We said if he didn't e-mail it to us right away he should leave. He argued all the way out the door.

All of the crew was very friendly and professional. Pleases with their work as the Craftsmanship was top notch. Highly recommend.

A few years ago, Sprague replaced our shingle roof. We were very happy with their work. It was done in a timely manner, within budget, and of the highest quality. Recently, (Dec. 2017), we asked them to do small repair on a flat rubber roof. They were very prompt in responding, coming to look at what needed it to be done, and getting the job done promptly. Unfortunately, the patch did not hold--patches to rubber roofs are NOT guaranteed, due to issues of surface deterioration caused by age, slime, mold, etc., which can be hard to manage. The repair was costly, about $895; when we noticed that the repair was not stable, we called; unfortunately, they did not get back to us, which was surprising based on our previous experience with this company.

The Sprague team were great -- all of them from sales to supervision to installation. The salesman visited once for an hour, made notes and scheduled a convenient time to return with a full plan for a new roof. He came on time and made a thorough low key documented presentation within 35 minutes. He gave us a plan, timeline of our choosing and had lots of references. I was impressed with the length of time the company has been in business, the factory support and range of services they provide. installation was on time. The installation team were thorough, fast, and very professional in their work. The off site supervisor visited each day and called twice to check that we were satisfied with "how things were going". The dumpster was delivered and picked up on time and the yard cleanup was thorough. All in all very professional and we are quite pleased. Yes I would hire them again in a heartbeat -- would that I outlive the roof! Bob Wellesley

Originally found GF Sprague from Angie’s list ( A friend also pointed me in their direction) when I needed an emergency repair after a rainstorm. They came inside of half an hour and fixed the problem. Based on that experience I then hired them a month later to replace the whole roof and they credited 1/2 of the original repair cost to the estimate. While their estimate was on the high-end there were no additional or “hidden“ costs. GF Sprague representatives, first Sean and then Bob, were very punctual, kept in regular contact and explained exactly what the job would entail. Their men started work when they said they would and finished quickly (also exactly when they predicted), taking care of all permits, dumpsters (even a porta potty) and clean up. Payment was done in thirds – at contract signing, the day work started and final appointment upon completion. Upon first inspection cleanup is especially impressive. Everything looks very good; Winter is beginning literally today so now the real test begins but I feel as confident as I could hope for given the company’s long history and 40 year guarantee.

The whole process from estimate to actual repair went very smoothly. They were on time, communicative, courteous, did nice work and completed the job same day. I also appreciated how well they cleaned up the site upon completion.

Jake Pedro did an exemplary job communicating throughout the work. He and Nate Fleury completed the job in just under three days in VERY cold conditions. We appreciated their hard work! Jake did a wonderful job crafting the copper to blend with the aesthetic of the home. Thanks.

The work was done in a prompt and professional fashion. They completed the project in three days and communicated their progress at end of each days through calls and photos. The cost was a little high but you get what you pay for in this case.

other estimates came in ranging from 12,500. to 15,000. Their estimate was 50,000.

The office person was very friendly and organized and got an appointment set up right away. They were good about communicating / confirming the appointment, and they arrived on time, with notice. However, they had to no quote since they only do full roof and gutter jobs. The rep was very helpful and gave us the name and number of a mason and a gutter person to contact. However, they could have saved the trip (and our time home) since I told the office person exactly what we needed. It would have been helpful if she had said at the time of booking that they wouldn't be able to help us.

Jake (with helper Nate) was highly professional and communicative. We have every reason to believe that the job was performed at highest standards. Jake was distinctfully impressive for someone his age. Our only complaint is of some (what seems to us) financial pettiness by senior management. 1. Sprague initially proposed to charge us for some repainting of some minor previous work they had performed, even though the reason for the painting failing to last long is likely because they failed to use a paint intended for metal. 2. Sprague declined to pay for some minor cracking in a ceiling in a top floor room, defying logic by saying that the cracking, which occurred during the time of their work, was not caused by the pounding on the roof near the area of the cracking. Although their reaction to each of those two items --both small dollar potatoes -- seem to us to be financially petty, they are insufficient to alter our general view that Sprague does high quality work and is a trustworthy business. Although this project was expensive, we have no reason to believe that the price exceeded the quality.

They were extremely honest with their estimate of what couldn't be done and honest and thorough about what they did do. I would hire them again in an instant.
