G F Sprague was one of the most professional companies I have had the pleasure to encounter. From the day I called and inquired about an estimate to the day they finished was a perfect example of how it should be done. The communication and service from them is top notch. I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

The job went smoothly. When Steve discovered a problem that could have been costly, he came up with a solution that kept the total from escalating greatly, which I appreciated. He kept me informed throughout the project and got it done on schedule thankfully, since we got two snowstorms immediately afterward.

Once things were cleared the dripping that had started in my house stopped soon after, preventing a repeat of major damage we had a few years back.

After investigating the leak further we are deferring the work to the spring. The problem may not be roof related after-all.

It went very well. They were great. It was an emergency service, so it was a little bit expensive

Mr. Sprague came out the 2nd week of December to evaluate what was necessary and give a free estimate. He scheduled the work for mid-January but said that if there were days before then when the temperature got above 40 F, the work might be done sooner. The roof repair was done on Dec. 26th. The two technicians who repaired the roof were quite competent. The older one was quite knowledgable about roofs, gave us good information, and also inspected the attic to see there were any leaks there. Fortunately there were none. We have had no leaks since the repairs on Dec.26th

It went very well. Before we purchased the house we had them provide an estimate which allowed us to make an informed offer because we the inspection indicated that the roof needed to be repaired. they provided us with an estimate, we made the offer and bought house. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that when they came to do the job the more they worked on the roof the more problems they found, which I understand happens and makes sense. I just wish we had known the extent of work that was need as we would have negotiated that I to the purchase price. Having said that, the Forman, Steve, was very professional when he determined the extent of work and asked to meet with us to review the additional costs. He had taken a considerable amount of pictures to show us where the damage was and what needed to be repaired. We were concerned about the roof when we bought the house as it was built in 1936. After the very thorough explanation from Steve, we agreed to proceed with the additional repairs. Steve brought his team which included, Nate and Dean and began work. In spite of extremely cold conditions they finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. They left the outside of the house spotless. We now have a 40 year warranty on on roof and are very confident that the roof is great shape. Our new copper gutters are very nice. Slate roofs are very expensive and take a certain expertise to maintain. If you have a slate roof that needs to be repaired or are thinking of putting one on, I would nightly recommend GF Sprague. They are a family owned and have been around for 40 years. Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Steve, Nate and Dean were very professional. Highly recommend them.

Responded quickly to my request for estimate. Kept me up to date on weather-related delays in doing repairs. When date arrived, Derek and Tom arrived on time. They were friendly, polite and professional throughout, explaining what needed to be done and why. They worked steadily all day, as the job required more work than expected, [without increased cost]. When they finished they cleaned up the area with the result that one would not have known they were there!

5 stars! Excellent. Sprague sent a senior adviser. He was prompt, which impressed us, we did not have to wait. He covered all of our concerns- very knowledgeable, experienced. we were able to get clear feedback and answers for our problems with the roof and chimney I will definitely work with this company in the future, they cover every detail, every angle, are prompt, knowledgeable, responsible.

Everything went well. I found all of the people I interacted with very professional and polite. The finished product is very attractive blends well with the rest of the house.

After making initial inspection a week down the road, they called back almost immediately to reschedule.. This was not reconfirmed on email. However, they called again offering to make an inspection last Thursday and confirmed the date/time for today. When nobody arrived I called t office to be told that they had called me (which they had not) to reschedule. Clearly spending lots of time making phone calls, not enough doing actual inspections.

They called to postpone the original date by one day due to illness of crew member. They came punctually the next afternoon and were done within 2 hours. Nice guys, good job.

All phases of the project went very well. Bob Scribner, G.F. Sprague Manager, was very responsive and agreed to set-up an appointment to meet at the work site. From his initial assessment, Bob determined the scope of work required and the timeframe to complete the project. A reasonable quote was agreed to, and a start date was established. A member of the Sprague team (Stevie) was on site on the committed date and all work was performed on schedule. He did an outstanding job to ensure the area was finished properly and application of new roofing materials met all quality and installation requirements. The job was completed within the week. Bob followed up with us to ensure the work was performed to our satisfaction. Since the job was completed, several significant rain events have tested the roof. There have been no problems.

We got estimates from three roofing contractors. Sprague's price was on the high end, but not the most expensive. Sprague's sales guy gave a highly professional presentation that thoroughly addressed all our concerns, of which the landscaping around the house was a key consideration. Given the quality sales presentation, we had high expectations of Sprague. And they met those expectations on every count. The project manager visited the site a few days ahead, then everything amazingly went like clock work. Everything except a wooden gutter was done in a day and a half, and the gutter was done a day later. The new roof looks great. Everyone was highly professional. And our landscaping was left perfectly intact - as promised! Based on our experience, this company is extremely well organized, well managed, and of the highest integrity. We're happy to be able to recommend them highly.

We had been having serious leakage problems with our flat roof for many years. Finally, last year's storms brought severe damage. We needed expert help. It was clear when we met Gerry Sprague that he was serious, professional, and had years of experience behind him. He took great pride in the quality of work he could offer, as well as in the customer service before, during, and after the job was accomplished. We hired GF Sprague to solve the problem of our flat roof, to fix the chimney and to re-do the rest of the roofs in the house. The work started promptly on time and was carried out in about 3 weeks. The project manager, Bob Scribner, came every day to supervise the work and to check with us to make sure we were satisfied with the progress. The work was professionally done. Of particular note was the care and detail with which the flat roof was re-done. Here Paul Whalen was the person in charge. He was just superb. He cared about the roof as if it was his own roof. He looked carefully at every possible corner, joint, and angle where water could possibly leak through and made sure it would not. It is because of that high quality of work that I now feel confident this new flat roof will withstand the harsh New England winters. All in all, we are very happy we chose Sprague to do our work. It was superbly done. The price was high but consistent with the product we received and the peace of mind it has given us.

I was very impressed with Sprague from start to finish. A representative met with the condo trustees, and explained in detail the options for materials, pricing, warranties, etc. They touched base when they said they would about starting the job, and were flexible about starting a week later when we requested that. Dean, the fellow who did the work, was very pleasant to work with. I watched him working, and think he did a careful and thorough job. He took pictures to show us the conditions on the roof and to show the work progress.

I spoke with the owner of the company, Gerry Sprague, who diagnosed the problem with my gutters over the phone after asking me a series of specific and detailed questions. He then recommended that I ask my current gutter cleaning company to clean my gutters again but give them specific instructions on how to clean them. Gerry did this in order to save me time and money. He also told me to call him if I had any further questions or if the problem persisted. Gerry was professional and very courteous throughout and I will recommend and use his company in the future.

We had used this provider seven years ago to replace part of the roof and repair a chimney and the roof area around it. We were very pleased with their work and the fact that they were very responsive to our call for a problem area, for which they were not responsible. Based on this experience, we hired them again for this project. The crew were very professional and they did what it seems to be a great job. As they were working over an area with new plantings, they were very careful not to damage the plantings some of which were small seedlings. They were very polite and they left the work site very clean. Given that the new skylights were unavoidably a little larger than the old ones, they cut te opening a little larger nicely.Overall, we were very pleased with their work.

They were very good on follow up and speed. They did it in a timely manner. I would like to give them credit for that.

After searching Angie's List and reading reviews and browsing the company's website, I called to make an appointment for a free estimate. After providing some basic information, I was told that our home (in Waltham) is not in their service area currently. Using Google Maps, I was able to determine that the distance from their office to my home is 8.5 miles. I pointed out that their website indicates they service all the way to Plymouth county, but I was told they have changed their policy in order to prioritize their customers. Very disappointing and somewhat unprofessional, in my opinion.

We have used GF Sprague for our roofing and gutter needs for 20 years. Our house is 70 years old with a slate roof. I wouldn't consider using any other roofer. Jerry's crews do excellent work. He is not cheap, but always gives us three "choices" for our needs, explaining the pros and cons of each option. I highly recommend him.

I wouldn't trust anyone except Gerry Sprague with the roof and gutters of our 85 year old house. Gerry knows everything that there is to know about roofs, gives you different price options with a thorough discussion of the pluses and minuses of each option, and then sends terrific, reliable and skilled workers. We have worked with Gerry Sprague for 20 years.

GF Sprague is a very excellent roofer. They know what they are doing. Unfortunately, because they pay their employees well in order to keep their experienced crews intact they are not cheap; but their service and results are well worth the cost.

The whole experience went without a hitch. They came to give us the estimate at the appointed time, were clear in their assessment of what needed to be done. Followed up on the estimate and then came on time when we scheduled it. This is actually our third time using GF Sprague and while they are not the least expensive choice we have always been very satisfied with their work and commitment to quality.

The team arrived on schedule and performed work on budget. The team was very professional and kept area clear of debris (not always the case when doing a roof). I was very pleased with the outcome. They did the whole job in two days. I would not hesitate to have them back for other jobs or to recommend them to friends.
