They were very nice to deal with and arrived when they said they would, even on a busy Sunday in the midst of all the snow. Unfortunately, it snowed again that same evening so it felt like we wasted our money. Not the companies fault. They removed some of the snow from our roof which did help. I wish there was a different deal though.Spending that much money and then having it happen again right away felt like a bit of a waste. Not the companies fault. Should probably have waited.

This winter has been horrible in terms of snow storms and ice dams. GF Sprague had done a nice job replacing my garage roof and fixing my chimney in the Fall, so I naturally trusted them to fix another roof problem. I understand that they were inundated with calls and e-mails, so it was hard to get hold of them. My main concern is that the price seemed to go up over a two week period. After the first or second storm the office staff quoted me a price in the 800's range. By the time I actually decided to hire them, the price had gone up to over 1100.00. I was told that the price was the same no matter how big the house is, so I assume the price was raised as the season got busier with the multiple snow storms. As far as the ice dam issue goes, the leaking did stop as soon as the crew finished their work. They were a nice bunch of guys.

The first time I called them, they were actually fantastic. I called and they came out the same day. They were very responsive. I had a lot of leaking in my house from ice dams and all the snow that was on the roof. They came out the same day and cleared out the snow. I needed extra work done, so they were able to stay extra hour and they charged me for it. They stayed an extra hour and then cleared out a little more snow. The guys that were sent out were great. They did everything they were supposed to do. They are a little expensive. Then for my second experience, we had a lot more snow here. Every roofer seems to be overwhelmed; so the second time, I called them more than two weeks ago and they haven't called me back. They keep sending me emails saying they are sorry and they are overwhelmed. They would get back to me as soon as we can and requesting me not to call them.

They were professional and quick! Very happy with my service!

AVOID at all costs. After waiting 10 days for contact after prepaying on Angie's List, I was informed that I would not be getting my ice dams cleared the easy, fast, and safe way, with a steam generator but instead could look forward to whatever 2 men could clear in 2 hours beating my roof and gutters with hammers on the 23rd, 2 weeks after payment. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

There was no one to answer their phone, so I contacted them through Angie's List and then they did respond quickly. They came for a limited amount of time and did what they could within that time. They crew that came was very pleasant.

Did NOT work for the total two hours. Still have leaking and ice dams one week later. The crew ended up making a side deal with one of my neighbors, came back at the end of the day and did their ENTIRE roof for only under $200 dollars. Tried to have a conversation with Bob to get the company to come back as my leaks continue and get progressively worse and he hung up on me. I will NEVER hire this company again.

I bought service to clear snow from my roof 2 weeks ago. i received a call back saying someone would call to schedule in 24 hours. 2 weeks later someone called and said they don't cover Milton anymore. I asked about a refund and they said they would look into it. not sure what my options are or if i am out of luck. Beware they will take your money and not perform any work.

Crew showed up on time and got right to work. Our roof was cleared in the time specified.

That in contacted them and it took them awhile for them to get back to me. They are unable to service me due to them being busy. I feel like they could have contacted me earlier rather than eight days later.

Like everyone in this region, we were panicked over the potential of water damage in our home due to the quick accumulation of snow and the ice dams resulting from the frigid weather. I started dialing for dollars, trying to get someone to come out and help, but with no luck. I came across GF Sprague on Angie's List and noticed their "buy it now" deal - $785 for up to 4 hours of service. I jumped on it. I figured, money talks, so let's pay in advance and get on their books. As promised, I received a call within 48 hours to schedule the service which was scheduled for 2 days later. The crew showed up promptly at the scheduled time. They had me sign an agreement and, after I signed, they stated that the service would last 1.5 hours. I corrected them and showed them my receipt for the "up to 4 hours" service that I purchased. I complained immediately and tried to get Bob, the production manager, on the phone. I could not. I then called the main office and received the voicemail whose box was full so I could not leave a message. I them emailed Sprague through Angie's List and received a response two days later. While the crew began work, the chief was able to get Bob on the phone and we spoke. Bob, THE RUDEST SERVICE PERSON I HVE EVER DEALT WITH, let me know that I did not purchase 4 hours of service, rather 4 "MAN" hours i.e, 2 guys for 2 hours or 3 guys for 1.5 hrs or 1 guy for 4 hours. This was never specified in the deal that I purchased. I did not purchase "MAN" hours, rather just "hours". Bob then went on to explain in detail their hours formula and was surprised that I had no concept of how their hours and pricing worked. Why would I? Again, the deal I purchased was for "up to four hours", not four "MAN" hours. He was immediately defensive and incredibly rude, INCREDIBLY RUDE, threatening to pull his men from the job, before I even really complained. To be treated so badly after pre-paying for a service? Bob needs to lose his job. The crew chief witnessed the exchange between Bob and me and even admitted that the wording in the Angie's List deal was vague at best. He was very apologetic and professional. The three men that came were all very respectful and professional. Another poor aspect of this service and one that should have been stated clearly was, the hours purchased included not only snow removal from the roof, but the shoveling to actually gain access to the roof. My husband and I smartly shoveled a path around the entire house the day before so the crew could have easy access. Had we not, the majority of the time we purchased would have been spent for that purpose and a very short amount of time spent on the roof which was the whole point to begin with. I do feel that the crew could have accomplished a lot more than they did, but it is what it is. It's a hard job and I do sympathize, but it is their job. I will never use Sprague again and will never speak well of them which is too bad because we do need roof work done when the Spring comes and I was hoping to establish a relationship with a local company. TERRIBLE!!! I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

On 2/10/15 was having a problem with an ice dam on my roof which was causing my roof to leak and water to come through the ceiling in three rooms of my house. These guys have a great website and good ratings on the List so I focused on them. Sent them an email, got a call back, asked about the Angie's list coupon for $785, was advised to purchase the service and call back to schedule. I purchased the service, but when I tried to call back, there was no answer and I kept getting a "mailbox is full" message so I couldn't even leave a message. This continued for the next two days, so I sent emails and finally heard back, via email, that I was on the schedule, and that someone named Bob would call within 24 hours to schedule the work. He didn't. I also begin to get very sophisticated group emails saying they were overwhelmed with calls, please don't call us, we'll call you, we're getting too many calls and emails -- if your on the schedule, we'll get around to you, don't write or call. This continued over the next few days. These guys are really much better at websites and html emails than they are at answering the phone or communicating with paying customers. Or maybe they decided they didn't need the coupon promotion after all and wanted to focus on non Angie's list customers. I finally I got a call three days later saying they'd be getting around to me at the end of the following week, a week away. I took them at their word. Big mistake. I could have been pursuing other providers. So what's the grand finale? Today, almost a week later, on 2/16 I got a voicemail saying they had decided they weren't going to service accounts in my town and that I should seek a refund through Angie's List. That's all. I've spent a week in a cold house with a leaky ceiling waiting for these clowns and then they walk away. On the whole this has been a terrible experience, most of it avoidable. Instead of sending emails saying how overwhelmed they were, why didn't they just call and talk honestly to the people on the list? The list could not have been that long. It seems like they got greedy and then overwhelmed and then made a mess and just walked away. I hope all of their roofs leak. My advice would be to avoid Sprague like the plague.

Water was coming in my house. I had no idea if it was the roof or snow. I went on Angies List and saw GF Sprague as a provider for snow and ice removal. I was also swayed by the coupon which is a joke. I have never dealt with ice dams and because I felt like I was in an emergency, I continued to talk with this company. Big mistake. They just want your money and have ABSOLUTELY no customer service. Bob, a production manager, was completely rude to me. I had explained to this company that I was a single mom in a 1200 square foot home and this was a lot of money for me to spend. I inquired multiple times as to what I would get for the money. I explained that there was another storm coming and should I wait. The response was, "I don't know what to tell you". This is supposed to be such an experienced company. I took a cancellation slot. 2 men came. The lead guy, as I could tell, told me it was a small house and they would be able to do the whole house. After they were supposedly done, the guy came to the door to tell me they were all set. He said he would come back next week, if needed (there was another storm coming). I said, there was no way I could pay another $700 next week. The next morning I went out and saw that the front of the house was hardly touched. I did, however see cigarette butts on the ground. I could not understand why there was so much ice still left. I immediately called. Bob called me back and when I asked for the crew to return to finish the job, he said too bad. He mentioned he had satisfied customers. He didn't care that I was not satisfied. I hung up on him. I was disgusted at his attitude. This company did an extremely poor job communicating with me. I feel robbed. I feel like this company was taking advantage of bad storms in this area to inflate their costs and not give a crap if a customer was not satisfied. I have talked to some other people who paid far less with appropriate communication and information.. I am considering taking this further. A note about these coupons. The prices are set by the service providers. Angie's List completely relies on the provider to determine what is an appropriate price for the service.

All of my attempts to call them were unsuccessful as thier voicemail box was full. I was finally able to connect with them via email. By the time I was able to get a hold of them I'd already had to get someone else to do the work.

GF Sprague has always provided white-glove service to me. On this occasion, I hired them to remove snow and ice from my roof, a service I have hired them to do in the past. I was surprised to get an answer to my call on the weekend, and a response to my request within the day. They arrived on time, kindly shoveled the apron from my driveway so they could get their truck in, and removed the ice and snow efficiently -- removing everything within the 2 hours. As usual, they were quiet, clean, thorough, and polite. GF Sprague are true professionals; the crew that came to remove the ice and snow knew enough about roofing to advise me on priority areas to clean. I never have to worry that they are going to damage my roof or property during the removal.

I left a message and emailed them about service. Jane called me back immediately so I proceeded to purchase the deal. Once I purchased the deal they did not answer the phone or return my calls. I have decided not to use this service provider.

Their service was great, from talking to the folks in the office to the actual work. We were lucky to get an 8 AM appointment the next day. They were prompt, friendly and even helped me shovel from the overnight snow. They completed the work in an hour - as promised - and cleaned up what had been pushed off the roof onto the deck. I'd highly recommend their services. We plan on having them back to do their 10 point inspection as we know we have some kind of issue but are not sure what to do to remedy it.

We called several days ago and they said they would come today or tomorrow to remove roof snow and ice dams. They called this morning and said they had too much work and would not come, as promised, to do the work. Because of this, we now have wasted several days risking damage to the house from the ice dams and have to try and find someone new to come here as quickly as possible. I realize this weather is wreaking havoc but they said very clearly that they WOULD come Thurs. or Friday and would call if they could come earlier. To bail out at the last minute is just bad business. They've left us in a precarious position.

I paid for services that I thought I would get. The company was overwhelmed but I felt that they should have been more proactive in letting people know that they were too overwhelmed to continue with the deal that I had purchased, as well as work from other customers.

Told me to contact them in regards to getting on the schedule which I did the next day and they were unreachable. Then I finally reached a woman who said she'd call the production maneger and theyd contact me and they still havent even over a day later

I reached out to them several times by email and phone calls, but they were unable to schedule an appointment in a timely fashion.

I first saw the ice dam around 8pm Friday evening. I've had them before so I knew I had to get the ice and snow off the roof before the water started pouring into my family room (as opposed to dribbling in). I joined Angies list seconds after spotting the water and was immediately given Sprague roofing as the one local provider. I emailed them and they contacted me the next morning saying they could get someone over on Sunday or Monday. They called back two more times and told me the team would come by between 9 and 12 Sunday morning. At 1115 Sunday morning 4 super friendly guys showed up, hopped up on the roof and started chipping away. One hour later my trouble spots were free. It wasn't cheap but neither is replastering amd painting!

We were very pleased with them. What I really liked about them was their promptness and responsiveness. I had actually called several other roofing companies and none of them really even called me back even after I left messages within two weeks. We would think that when I said that I had water coming into my house and my roof is leaking that someone would promptly call back. Sprague was very good to the point where the guy said that he didn’t have men to do it that day, but that they can come tomorrow, and that he will come out right then just to help us with the one spot we were having problems with, just so that we can stop the leaking. He went above and beyond the service. Eventually, he actually came by and his crew with him. He said that he found them and that they were here. They worked very quickly and professionally. We had a follow-up meeting with one of their roofers last week to take a look into help rectify what our leakage problem was. We are still working with them. This was above and beyond what the Angie's List offer was. The offer was just the snow removal. We have been very pleased with this company. With regard to quality, we haven't had leaking since. We would most definitely use them again in the future.

From start to finish GF Sprague was a professional company. They know how to do it right. I called (2/7) to set up an appointment for them to remove 3ft. of snow off my family room roof and 4 inches of ice from my gutters, because an ice dam had formed and water was leaking inside my entry way wall. I spoke with Nicole and then Karina who were both professional and seemed concerned about my problem. They told me I would receive a call that day from Bob about scheduling this job. Guess what? I did! Bob told me I was scheduled for 2/8. Today, (2/8) they showed up. Dean and Paul introduced themselves and I was able to show them the ice dam. Dean said they would take care of this right away. They got their ladders and got on my family room roof and began clearing off the snow. Approximately 2 hrs later, Dean rang my doorbell and told me the job was completed. My family room roof was clear of all the snow and the 4 inches of ice in my gutters was cleared too. Dean said they also shoved off my back porch roof, because it was flat and might be a weight issue with the snow. Unbelievable customer service! They have restored my faith that there are contractors out there who can do the job right the first time and be polite and professional too. I will definitely recommend this company to all of my friends and family members. They are an A+ company for sure! Many, many thanks!!!
