I had posted very positive reviews right after work was done. EVerything up to and through the two jobs) was seemingly great. Jim was punctual and attentive and came in with the best estimates by far. His references all checked out in glowing terms. The problem is not the way he approaches a job, but the care he puts into the work in order to get it done. Our experience was with a basement remodeling and a bathroom remodeling. The basement remodeling went well and is, overall, a decent job. The criticism we have of the basement work is the overall lack of attention to detail. He had his teenage son do tile work and that is not what I paid for. He had to come back repeatedly to fix doors that delaminated, came off their hinges or didn't close. One door, a sliding door, still doesn't work. Woodwork, framing in the bathroom, less than two years later, has come undone. Other minor problems with vents for the washer dryer caused us to hire other repair people. Overall, because it is a basement, I did not make a big fuss, even though we have had other workmen come in to fix the problems that Jim never corrected. The second floor bathroom also seemed to go well, but it was the after part that was a problem. We bought very expensive tile, at least for us, and I made it very clear to Jim that I wanted an expert tile person to install the tile because of its expense. The bathroom was finished and it looked good, with the exception of handles missing from the cabinets that Jim said he would take care of. He never did. Then, within a few months, the grouting in the bathtub enclosure started coming off. Jim said it was "natural" and he sent his own helper to fix it, who used the wrong color grout and had to come back a second time. Then, within another 6 months, the grout around the tub just cracked and fell out as well as grout up and down the walls. I called Jim and emailed him and he simply ignored my calls and emails. We had to pay another tile person $800 to repair the work that Jim had done. This was the last straw for us because Jim simply ignored us. For this reason, and because of the overall lack of attention to detail, I would not use his services again.
Description of Work: We had a basement remodeling job that also involved putting in a bathroom. We also had a second floor bathroom remodeling job.

We haven't decided to do the work yet. The owner came out to do the estimate and he seemed to know what he was talking about. He seemed like a very reasonable and easy person to work with. We are thinking about using them to do the work. He came out a couple of times.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Wyatt Enterprises to repair basement posts. We haven't gotten as far as determining the exact nature of the job and the details keep changing for the job.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this guy is. From the first contact to the final finish work, he was always friendly, funny, easy going, punctual, attentive and honest as the day is long. I liked him the first minute I met him. I checked his long sheet of references, and each person I contacted (and I called 9 of them) was more effusive about Jim than the previous one and each contact was amazingly positive. Many had used him on multiple jobs. I now understand why they were so positive. He shows up when he says he will be there or calls if he will be late (like, 10 minutes). He also passes on much of his contractor discounts on plumbing supplies, tile, and electrical fixtures. He is also very creative. We ran into a few problems with pipes and tough angles in the design, and he worked around all of them without additional charges. A few changes in the job were required by code and he completed them with no additional charge, even though it involved more expense and time for him. He was also very helpful in suggesting ways to cut unnecessary expenses to make the job more affordable. He was significantly below four other contractor quotes, not because he cut corners or quality, but was smart about how to build and which supplies to use and, all the while, exceeding all building code standards. Other contractors, even from Angie's List, claimed that certain more expensive supplies or methods were required, that, it turned out, were not. This job flew through all buidling code inspections without a hitch, and the inspectors in Sudbury are known for being tough. At the end of the job, we had a small punch list, a few specks of paint, a door adjustment, and he went through the list without any hesitation. His main co-worker, Jerry, was an aboslute pleasure to have around and a real stickler for doing good work. He was proud of what he built and wanted us to be happy. I hope whoever reads this understands that as effusive as I am about Jim, each and every person for whom he works feels the same way. This guy is a real gem and I will not hesitate to use him again without even bothering to check with other contractors. I have that much trust in him. We actually are hiring him to do some additonal work outside our house. Again, his quote for the work (we had gotten quotes before we met Jim) was the best and he made suggestions for how to do the work better to accomplish our objectives. If you are looking for a general contractor to do any work like additions, painting, window replacement (I will be using him to replace 37 windows in my office building also), you cannot lose by hiring him. He is the real deal.
Description of Work: Jim finished our basement with an office, a utility room, a hallway and a full bathroom/laundry room. Jim took an unfinished basement and turned it into a wonderful and useful space. He worked with me in the planning of the design, made many helpful and critical changes to my design to make the rooms more functional, did the rough framing, used his regular plumber and electrician and plasterer, and then completed all the finish, including the trim, the painting, the tiling and the installation of pocket doors, closet doors and a few specialty places for our porch screens and windows.

I had 2 old very Small windows that needed to open. Other company's said it was impossible that they could not open with a replacement window. Since one was a bathroom, I had to have it open. Jim Wyatt successfully installed two small casement windows to meet the requirements.
Description of Work: All windows in my home were replaced. I had 2 very small difficult ones which were put in perfectly. I wanted a different manufacturer than he usually handled. He put them in, although they were different than his standard brand.

I was notified on Friday that renters want my home the following week. In order to make it available, I had to have the bathroom and kitchen painted. Jim's team arrived on Monday to save the day. It was completed neatly and without any mess. The house was ready for the tenants on Friday. I could not be more pleased.
Description of Work: My bathroom and kitchen were painted.
