A visiting dog peed on my brand new wool/viscose rug. Viscose stains badly and I thought that was the end of the rug. I called Timmins and they came right over. Although it is not a perfect fix, this is not their fault. Viscose is a beast with stains. They did the best they could and over all I can now ignore the fact that there is a light stain where I was done wrong by a naughty puppy. They fellow was polite and explained the various issues with the blend he was cleaning. I am satisfied.

This is the second time I've hired Timmins to clean our carpets and furniture, and both times they did an excellent job. The on-site technicians have been helpful and knowledgeable, and their attention to detail is amazing (no extra drips on the hardwood floors or walls, very careful moving of furniture as needed)! We've had multiple drink stains and pet stains on our carpets, all of which have come out. Also, they've treated delicate wool felt furniture with no issues. Previously, I've hired Stanley Steemer for carpets the cost was comparable for far less quality and service. Also, I know these guys work a very large region, so don't assume that you're out of their zone.

Timmins is FANTASTIC. Prompt, responsible, efficient. With an old dog and young children around the house, there are plenty of stains that come right up. Cost might seem high but it is well worth it.

We hired Timmins on the recommendation of our realtor. We wanted to get the carpets cleaned before the mover's arrived the next day with our furniture. We were new to town and not aware of Angie's List when we contracted them. We weren't able to get them to estimate the job ahead of time since we didn't have access to the house yet and we were in a rush to make sure the job got done before the movers showed up the next morning. The technician from Timmins was on time and had a very professional manner. He was able to get the job done in two and a half hours since there was no furniture in the way. The results we good and the carpets looked clean after he left. The experience went downhill, once the invoice arrived. It was about 2X what we expected at the high end of what we had experienced from other cleaners in the past. We called Timmins to inquire about the charges but they insisted that this is their standard rate and that they pointed out they gave us a 10% discount for the referral from our realtor. We decided to get some after the fact estimates from other Angie's List suppliers to benchmark their price. Needless to say, the other suppliers confirmed that Timmins is about 2X the prevailing rate in Boston. We called back to try to negotiate a more reasonable price, but got an earful about how they did their best service and would only drop the price to $700, which is just breaking even for them while not failing to mention that they would turn us over to a collection agency if we didn't pay them in the next four days. So needless to say, we won't be using them again. I wouldn't recommend using them unless you want a good job at a gold plated price.
