Regardless of who the technician was servicing the pool, I had very good experience with everything. I would sometimes need the water cleared up for a party - and need an extra service and they would always respond quickly. We also had a weird problem with a type of film on our water and they figured that out and corrected it. I have referred many friends to this company over the years and they have had good experiences too.
And I know that whenever the pool isnt perfect it will get fixed right - and they always keep me informed of whats going on.

Solaris has been servicing my pool for more than 5 years.  I have never been without the use of my pool for more than 24 hours.  They have repaired and/or replaced most major components, including the heater, pump and filter.   They clean my pool twice a week and since they have cleaned it, I have always had sparkling water.  My pool is "the neighborhood" pool and gets a lot of use.  Solaris has been very accommodating on cleaning it on days other than scheduled days when I am having a big party.  They leave me a slip after each cleaning or service call so I know exactly what was done and what chemicals were added.

All of their services were very good.  Most important, when there was a problem, they stayed in touch with me to let me know what was happening to fix it.  I needed new filter cartridges one season and they replaced them without any problem and that fixed the problem I had been having keeping the water clear.

When I received a flier advertising Solaris Pool Service I called them. It was still March, the guy suggested to wait till the weather warms up. He called me back a month later. He was polite and informative. He came and gave an estimate of  $1400. I found the amount high but since I was expecting bigger problem that what it actually was, I agreed.

The owner sent his service man, Dan, to do the job. He patched the bottom at the locations I pointed him to. I was not at home, arriving home I saw his tools in the bottom of the pool. I thought he will come back. After a week I received the final bill. Surprised, I inspected the pool from close and was horrified to see that the tools were left there frozen in cured plaster. The bottom was uneven, leftover material cured to the untouched areas leaving bumps all over. The major surprise was that the new patches did not bind to the concrete underneath, there was a hollow cavity underneath!

I called them with my findings and they sincerely apologized and Dan was at my house next day to re do the patches. This time he took his tools with him and no new bumps were left. Two of the 3 patches bonded to the concrete but one was still loose.

I called them for the 3rd time, this time it was already May. They said they are busy and cannot come out any more, instead they offered me to pay only $1000 instead of the original $1400. (I paid $700 as deposit before the job started.)

I filled the pool, it still needs patching.

Later I learned that they used the wrong glue to put the missing tiles back. They used the rubbery sealant used in bathrooms instead of the hard mortar that should have been used. The tiles are falling off.

These guys are well intentioned amateurs with no experience whatsoever. They sound trustworthy so they are flooded with work. Avoid them.
Response from Solaris Pool Service
"This pool had more damage than was apparent, as frequently is seen once repairs start - the damage went all the way through the structure of the pool and we warned the customer that these areas could continue to weaken after patching. The tools were not left for a week, my recollections was 2 days - because the technician intended to come back and finish. We actually found more totally separate damaged areas when we went back to finish and patched those at no extra cost. Regarding the tiles, there are many different adhesives used in the industry and we used one we believe would work best in this situation. Tile patching is never guaranteed because frequently the cause of them coming off is not remedied by just re-applying the ones that were off. In light of what the customer finally paid we feel the end result was fair for the work done."

This company did an excellent job. All of the workers were professional while doing the work at my home and they were responsive to my first call. They made sure to clean up everything when they were finished.
