Roofer's Edge & Siding Inc

I had a terrible experience with Roofers Edges & Siding Inc. We decided to replace the roof for solar system, and hired them to do the job. Remember: you are not hiring Kevin but his crew!!! The communication was extremely poor. At first, despite Kevin agreeing to use an ice shield for the front of my house, his crew was unaware of this requirement. I saw they are using the wrong material, and I had to contact Kevin at the installation day to ensure they were doing the job correctly. It was frustrating that the crew couldn't understand English, and Kevin himself never showed up at my house after the initial estimate. To make matters worse, the roof replacement resulted in a severe water leak problem between my chimney and roof. I asked them to fix it, but they failed once and never showed up again even though they provided an one-year warranty. At very beginning, I fully trusted them, and didn't check regularly, eventually I found the leaking problem persisted several months after the replacement the roof! Despite numerous attempts to contact Kevin, he consistently failed to respond to my calls and texts. Instead, he tried to blame the issue on a chimney problem, and told me they can do a water test, but that never happens. I eventually had to hire a new company to look into it, and they found out that the FLASHING was NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!! and I can see the sky from my attic. I had to pay extra money to redo the flashing job, and Roofers Edges & Siding already lost my trust. The lack of professionalism continued when they claimed to have applied for a permit for the job, and I trusted them. However, several months later, I found out that there was no record of the application with the town. When I contacted them, they said the issue is an incorrect address, how un-professional they are! Overall, I would not recommend Roofers Edges & Siding Inc to anyone. Their poor communication, lack of professionalism, and shoddy workmanship were unacceptable. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy roofer, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Last fall we needed our roof replaced and wanted to hire local. After talking with the owner Kev, we figured he seemed like a genuine guy and assured us that his crew was neat and professional. His crew was timely, they showed up within a couple of days and finished the large job in 2 days. Unfortunately, they were neither neat or professional. It took me about 20 minutes of walking the edge of our house with a nail magnet (that I bought from Home Depot for cheap) to pick up roughly 100 roofing nails, both new and old. I see other roofing companies using industrial sized nail magnets to clean up after themselves so no one steps on a nail and puts it through their foot (particularly concerning given 3 small children in our house). For some reason their people don't use socks on their ladders or stabilizer bars, so they left dings and marks on our siding and gutters. I'd have let those go, if not for the other issue. Someone within their company hit and bent our wrought iron railing (which causes it to buckle in several places and compromised the concrete. Kevin acknowledged someone in his organization did the damage and they would fix it. I called Kevin 5 or 6 times and he continued to tell me they would deal with it, that was almost a year ago. The short of it is use another local roofer, Roofers Edge was unprofessional and dodged us when they caused damage. We would never recommend them to anyone in the future.

Excellent. From initial contact Roofer's Edge was responsive. The installation crew was excellent and the gutters blend in with the trim color and are barely noticeable. We would definitely recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent! Kevin was very responsive and came by just a few days after I had requested an on line quote. He gave me a proposal with the full price and explained everything and there was no sales pressure at all. A week later he came by again and we signed the proposal and gave him a deposit. He had shingle samples and again explained the process and answered all questions. A week later a crew was at our house right at 7:00 AM and were stripping the roof by 7:30 AM, after covering the bushes and hanging down tarps from the roof to protect the house. They were all done by 4:30 - cape style house and two car garage. The crew did a great job, the roof looks great and everything was cleaned up. Kevin came by and did his visual examination and to make sure everything was OK. Great Job!

Terrible. Despite three conversation over a week, the relevant party was not interested ingiving a quote. I gave up.

They were really good. Price was as expected. We may use them for some siding work.

The replacement went well. There was a problem with some roof cap's finish, but certainties covered it on warranty. Roofer's Edge did the work.

Great, we called and sent pictures of the damage and they responded that night. Gave us a quote and told us they would show up within the next week to repair the siding.

I got an estimate but I didn't end up using them. They gave a very quick estimate. They gave same day estimate because I was under a time crunch. He was good like that but I found he was very distracted. When he came for my appointment, he kept on getting telephone calls. Instead of ignoring them he would answer them. The interaction was okay. The quote was pretty detailed from what I recall. I don't know that I would recommend him just based on the interaction I had. I just feel like if you're going to be at someone's home and you're going to give them an estimate, I know he had other things going on but I felt like he needed to give me his undivided attention at that time. He was very responsive to come.

- Very prompt, professional service delivered at a great price on our Newton expanded bungalow. - Owner, Brian (in business for 25 yrs) assessed/priced job and, with on-site job supervisor, was available at every stage of job completion. - I requested 4 references which Brian gave me at random but said he doesn't call former customers in advance of such requests so wasn't sure if I'd get call backs. All 4 references DID return my calls and all raved about Roofer's Edge/Siding work and value. - Also, work crew included professional women which I appreciated. - Policy is payment at the end of the job when customer is satisfied. - Will definitely use again for siding and or windows given this roofing experience.

He made an appointment and never showed up or even called to cancel. At this point, I am not sure of the date.

Great. On time, finished in 2 1/2 days with bad weather!

Other than delays due to rain, it went very well. My house is a large Victorian with lots of areas to "cut into" . I had a new skylight and bathroom exhaust fan installed, as part of the job. The foreman took care of covering the air handler in the attic before work began. He also hooked up the exhaust fan inside the attic. The crew completed the job in 2 and a half days and cleaned up thoroughly. The foreman, crew and owner, were responsive to my questions and concerns and assured me along the way. Kevin Blakeman, the owner, was very available and responded immediately to my calls and emails. I would highly recommend this company.

I contacted Kevin the morning after the storm, as soon as we were aware of the problem with our roof. He had a crew at our house that afternoon. They completed the repair efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly. We had some spare shingles left over from when the roof was put on originally, and they were able to save us money by using the materials we had. The cost of the repair was very reasonable, as well.

Emailed company via Angie's list, received a prompt reply, and arranged to meet one of the estimators at my house for a free quote soon after. They gave me a quote the same day which is great service. The price seemed reasonable and they stopped by the following week and completed the job on time and per the quoted price. Great job and would hire them again.

Roofer's Edge was overall great to work with. ?We did some major maintenance to our home exterior over the course of several months--and from the start Kevin was prompt, courteous, and gave us a very fair quotes compared to other companies we contacted. ?We had a bit of trouble with our exterior paint job where some iron plant hangers were semi painted over, but once we pointed it out Kevin took care of it. ?They were super patient, allowed us ample time to pick the exterior color we wanted, and didn't raise an eyebrow when we asked to have our front door painted a 2nd time in a different color. ?We were very pleased with the exterior paint job, as well as our gutter replacement, rotten siding replacement, and roofing. ?We'd definitely use Kevin and his crew again and can highly recommend his services.

I had met with a couple of companies that seemed to be competent roofing companies but their prices were crazy high. After last year's bad winter I believe the prices from these companies were raised artificially high to take advantage of the demand. I continued to look and called several highly rated companies listed on Angie's list but none of them panned out. A couple of the companies said they were too busy to give me a price. One company sounded great on the phone (asked all the right questions) but never followed up. I finally saw a few recommendations on a local group on facebook and they recommended Kevin Blakeman and his company Roofer's edge and siding, Inc. After looking him up on Angie's list and seeing very good recommendations I called him and he responded right away. He came over to my house with his son, who is learning the business, and Kevin impressed me with his knowledge and thoroughness getting measurements, discussing materials, addressing ice dam prevention ideas. He promptly sent me a quote, the price seemed very fair so I went with their company. Kevin kept me up to date right from the beginning on timelines, what would happen throughout the process and he kept to his word on everything he said. They were clearly a well oiled machine that knows what they are doing. After several false starts with other companies I had grown a little discouraged trying to find a good company to replace our roof. Luckily we finally found Roofer's edge and the overall experience was great and I wholeheartedly recommend Kevin and his company and will use him to replace some trim work around my house that has rotted. Great Job Roofer's edge!

They were able to do the job three weeks earlier than scheduled. The workers showed up right on time, went right to work and got the job done in one day as promised at the exact price quoted. All of the debris was cleaned up and the yard was left in the same condition as when they arrived. The workers were professional and the roof looks awesome. I would highly recommend Roofers Edge to anyone looking to replace their old roof.

We are very pleased with the work that Roofer's Edge did on our house. From the start Kevin was responsive -- providing a quick quote, answering questions, and addressing our concerns. His team did a very good job re-roofing our house -- they got all the re-roofing done in a single day, cleaned up the following day, and put on a gutter several days later. Leo was the team leader, and did a great job managing the crew. His crew went to the extra mile to protect our flower beds. Our house has some architectural details that required some extra work, and they took their time on those parts of the roof. They did a good job cleaning up, even fishing some plastic bags that had blown off the roof into the trees. A few minor things came up during the project and Kevin and Leo made sure the details were addressed. We'd recommend Roofer's Edge to our friends.

Fine, but started a day late. Understandable with large demand for services.

They called ahead of time to say they were coming the next day at 10am, they showed up at 10am and went to work right away. Three guys worked for 2 hours, and did a great job clearing the roof and cutting into the 24" thick ice dam at the eve edge to allow backed up water to flow freely. They also recommended we fill the legs of nylons with calcium chloride and place them vertically on the roof, resting in the gutter and extending perpendicular to the gutter to keep ice dam from reforming. It really worked well. No more leaking the rest of this extra bad winter.

We are very pleased with the service provided by Mr. Blakeman and his company, Roofer's Edge & Siding, Inc. I contacted Mr. Blakeman by email and requested his service. A few short days later I received a reply indicating that he'd be at my home the next day. I replied with my mobile number and the next morning we talked. He explained in detail the service that would be provided and most importantly, the proper approach to mitigating an ice dam. Later that day the service was provided and the ice dam leaking stopped! The service Team cleaned up after themselves by removing all snow from he walkways, driveway and deck. We are thrilled! Thank you.

Kevin's company replaced my brother-in-laws roof and came strongly recommended. My brother-in-law is still happy with the roof, so it seems Kevin has a great crew that does good work. Kevin was very responsive to my inquiry, came out, looked at the job (combination asphalt, rubber roof, skylights) and then sent his foreman to look at a portion of the roof that requires a rubber roof replacement. Kevin provided a quote that was competetive, but withdrew it a few minutes later after he spoke with his foreman and they felt uncomfortable doing the rubber roof work. This was unfortunate as they were surely in the running for the job and to lose a job over a small portion that would have been tricky, but totally do-able, is too bad. I appreciate that they did not take on a project that they were not comfortable with. I'm sure they would have done a great job and had no problem, as others have quoted on the project and have expressed no concern about that portion of the project, but they chose not to proceed which is OK. Kevin was great about explaining some different options and pricing and I would have been comfortable hiring him. I would consider Roofer's Edge again if I had a straight asphalt roof project.

We had a terrific experience in every aspect of our dealings with Roofers Edge and Siding. They were the most responsive of the roofing companies we contacted. They called us back a few times to check in to see if we were interested - it was helpful and not at all aggressive or pushy. The price they gave us was $5,000 less than two other roofers' prices. They delivered the materials the day before the job and were here early the next morning to replace the roof. The work was completed in one day (our house is just 1,600 square feet but we have several different roof lines and peaks). The roof is beautiful - looks perfect. There is a nice selection of shingles from which to choose. To top off our excellent experience, they cleaned up the yard well, encouraged us to feel free to use the dumpster for any personal items we wanted to get rid of, and the owner if the company called me two days after the job to ask if we were happy with the work. They really exceeded my expectations. They also do siding, gutters, and replacement windows - we will definitely use them again when it's time for new windows in the next few years. I highly recommend this company.
