They are very professional, customer service was very responsive, price was fair, technician was very polite and punctual, he also cleaned up the flue not being used anymore for free. Would recommend them without reservation.

Nick was technician and did a great job. Explained what we had and gave good advice about the particulars of our fireplaces, several of which are joined. Clear explanations, friendly service and appears to be quality work as well. Would recommend them in a heartbeat. Total cost was for 2.5 hours = $280/hr, which seems rather pricey, but I was satisfied with the work and don't have much to compare pricing to.

They were honest and straightforward. Had been "cold contacted" by another chimney company who told me I needed $6500 worth of repairs and that my gas hot water heater might cause my house to blow up if it was not fixed. Master Chimney Sweepers did the same inspection and said my hot water heater was okay at the moment; could be made better but changes were not imminent and their pricing was far less.

I purchased coupon for Chimney sweet and Chimney cap but was luckily reimbursed the money back - they were about 4x's more than another provider who did an amazing job.? They were very professional and nice but unfortunately a complete rip off...

The service was well done, on time and done quickly but I feel it was overpriced.

Angie's list showed this provider offering a special ?of $299 for?a chimney cap installation?(regularly $350).???According to a national do-it-yourself website,?for?my zip code location, they said?it?should be about $190 including material and labor.?? But that seemed too low.?? When I called they quoted me $750?over the phone.?? I commented to them that it seemed high given the price listed?for the on-line special.??He?said they didn't kinow anything about an on-line special,? but it probably only applied to a ranch-style house with a single flue.???? My house?has a double flue,? and is a two story colonial.? I suppose there is a little bit of extra work to use a longer ladder to reach the chimney of a 2 story house,? but it is hard to believe that that and the double-flue would?cost so much extra.??? Home Depot sells chimney caps for less than?$50.???? So,? even if I were to assume two $50 chimney caps,?? that would mean $650 of labor,? which is ridiculous,? even for Massachusetts!

We were told the arrival would be between 1 and 4pm. Bobby was here just after one. He immediately introduced himself and explained the service he would be completing and how long it should take. He was polite, honest and professional. He went straight to work and the area was completely clean when he was done. Other companies we have hired employed high pressure sales tactics to have costly, unnecessary work done. A technician from one outfit pushed us hard for a new chimney liner right after his co worker had told me that our two year old clay liner looked just fine. The technician from Master noted a minor hole in our furnace pipe. He patched it and made us aware of it and noted its location so we could monitor it. All in all a good experience.

The service saved me time and money. I was scheduled for 2 hour window of time, and got a call for an earlier opening. Matt arrived in the middle of the appointment time window and got straight to work. He asked about the previous work done, did a full inspection of the flue. He showed me the part that needed repair, saved me the cost of a custom piece. He got up on my roof and took a second look at the flashing and cap of my chimney, took pictures up close to show me. He was very professional through the whole visit. He took apart my damper and showed me where I might need to do more repair in the future. The previous technician I had out had quoted me hundreds of dollars of masonry work, and after seeing the photos I know that is bogus. I am so happy I got a second opinion on my chimney repair! He showed me a potential fire hazard and gave me an option to fix it. Matt also warned me of the price difference for the work before performing it. He showed me all the pieces in the repair and how to operate it before leaving. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's List over the weekend. Master Chimney Sweepers called me Monday morning to schedule. They were booked until February, but then found a slot in early January. I had mentioned I was hoping to get it cleaned before the holidays. They called back two days later and had an opening that afternoon. Nick performed the inspection and cleaning. We have had challenges in the past with the size of the firebox and flue, Nick gave some advice on keeping the flue clean and getting a better draft, he also inspected the woodpile and gave some advice on the wood. He was on time, professional, and got along with the feisty dog. Overall outstanding service. I gave a "B" on price because $399 seemed a bit steep for an hour or so of inspection and cleaning, but to be honest I'm not sure what is competitive these days, and using the coupon helped. And for the overall experience it was worth it.

The service man Vinny cleaned and explained in details what was going on in my chiminey. I was so happy to be educated about what is necessary with my chiminey. For example no one ever told me to have the furnace flue checked yearly. This an be a hazard if not checked every year.

Bobby was excellent. He was very pleasant and professional with the cleaning and really went out of his way to examine the source of the water leak. This included climbing up on the roof to look at the top of the chimney. He was able to conclude that the source of the leak was an improperly installed chimney liner we put in about 6 years ago with a different company. They failed to put a tee cap at the bottom of the liner and the seal at the top of the liner was not tight and was causing water to drain into the chimney so with no tee cap, it was draining unto the basement floor. He proposed a solution, showed me pictures, and gave me a price to fix. It was a pleasure working with him.

It went well. They came out and pointed out that the furnace also uses the chimney so they cleaned that instead because it was absolutely necessary. They also gave us a plan on replacing our terracotta tiles. So it was nice to be made aware of some situations but they did not force us to make any repairs right at that time. One thing I didn't like, I called to make the appointment a month advance and when they spoke to me they said that would be here at 11 but then they called ahead of time stating that they would be here between 11 - 2 and I should have been informed of that at the time of the appointment.

Based on the great reviews, I purchased a deal for a discount on a chimney sweep and inspection. Work was never performed. When they got in touch to schedule they told me the price, with was more than 2x what it should have been (and what other providers charge in the city). They stated this was their price to come into Boston. Doesn't seem right to me that the price was 2x just due to location. Their claim that parking is the problem is a farce. There are hundreds of contractors that park on the residential streets on a daily basis with no problems. I know this as we just completed a renovation with multiple contractors/subs over the course of several months. I appreciate them not wanting to work in the city, but I'd prefer they just come out and say that, rather than charging double and hoping the customer hasn't done their pricing homework.
