Master Chimney Sweepers

Very professional, on time, clean, courteous. Completed in about 45 minutes. Would hire again. Pricing was a bit on the high side for services performed, as compared to other providers.

Bobby was our technician and he was awesome. He came out early (after calling to ensure that was okay) went to work quickly and efficiently and didn't waste time, though he was friendly and took time to make friends with my dog and baby. One chimney he squared away quickly. The second one that vents the furnace had some concerns on the outside as the terra cotta outlet had a lot of cracks and the previous owner had not capped it. Upon sweeping and inspecting it, huge chunks of the liner began to rain down and one who area was stuck, blocking the flue. It was a mess and I suspect ended up being a lot more work than poor Bobby anticipated. But, he stuck with it, fixed the mess, and very gently/kindly let us know that we would definitely need a repair there for safety reasons. We weren't suprised when we saw the shape the liner was in. We got a quote for that work as well as a place in the que today. For several hours of work, 2 chimney caps, fixing a stuck flue in one chimney and all the work I just detailed on the other one, the bill was around 1100. I would also note that every time I spoke with them on the phone they were super nice, kind, and accomodating.

My technician, Tony, showed up on time and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He emailed me pictures of my chimney crowns that he took while inspecting on the roof. I now know both need repair. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do beforehand.

The service from Master Chimney Sweepers was excellent. They had a cancellation and worked us in before the holidays (not expected but pleasantly surprised). They were willing to take the time to explain issues and understand what the next steps are for servicing.

They arrived on time, seem to have done a good job, were faiy priced and cleaned up when they were done.

I'll never use this company. They overcharge for all services. This is in comparison to other equally highly rated companies on Angie's List.

I called the main line and could not hear the answer as the line had a lot of loud static. I said "Hello, I'm having trouble hearing you, there is a lot of static." I didn't catch the person's name, but he replied in an irritated tone, "Yes, yes, I know. Everyone says that, but there's no magic fix, no magic wand I can wave to make it better." First impressions are everything, folks. I'll be shopping for this service elsewhere.

Vinny was prompt, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about chimneys and made us feel like we were well taken care of. As a first time home owner, it helped to have everything explained to us. He made sure to tell us what he was going to do, before he did it and even shared recommendations to be taken care of in the future, but not necessarily needed immediately -- which was much appreciated as we are on a budget, particularly being a new home owner! Make sure you ask for Vinny - he is one of the best.

Very well. It took about a month for them to get to us but the work was done well.

When I answered the phone, he didn't realize I had answered, and was being rude about how he had "other things to do today, pick up, pick up... come on guy...". He then hung up on me once he realized his mistake, and called back. It was awkward. The quote they provided for sweeping two flues was insanely high compared to their nearest competitor. They said they were too busy to come out and inspect the chimney to quote the repointing job, and asked if I had photos. I provided photos, and the quote that came back was well more than double that of the next competitor. Ended up hiring an alternate company for the sweep and inspection, and they've been fantastic. Recommend looking elsewhere.

Matt did a great job cleaning the fireplace and chimney. He also suggested what kinds of fires we should have in our 1880 fireplace which was very helpful information. He also checked out the chimney from the basement, attack and roof and pointed out what kind of repairs we could face in the future.

Tony was really great. He not only did a great job with the sweep but also inspected all the other chimneys and provided feed back. I would definitely recommend them.

Bobby arrived right on time, he explained everything that he was going to do ahead of time and then got right to work. He cleaned up well afterward and the whole thing took less than an hour.

Very professional. Did a great job and kept the workspace very clean. I bought a $100 coupon for $50. I think $399 ($349 after coupon) for a 1h chimney sweep is steep.

The mason and a chimney sweep worked all day on this job. They took pictures to show us the final work, which looks far better than what was there before.

I called Master Chimney Sweepers to get an estimate on repointing my chimney. Matt came by to look it over and quoted a price then and there. He also explained that the entire chimney did not need to be repointed and that he would do from the roof line up. I checked with a couple of other companies to see what they said and one said the entire chimney should be done and it would cost almost double what Master quoted. The third company I called asked me to email photographs of the chimney and he'll take a look at it. (Quite frankly, this is not the way to do an estimate.) I didn't need to worry since this company never got back to me. I let Master know I wanted them to do the work. Matt came out on the scheduled day, right on time, and got to work. He spread a tarp on the roof and cleaned up afterwards. He even hosed off the roof when finished. He did a great job. The next day, looking at the completed work with binoculars, I thought I saw some gaps between the bricks. I called the office and asked them to get Matt to call me back, which he did the next morning. He explained that what I was looking at was a metal brace inserted through the chimney to secure it to the side of the house. I'm very happy with his work and the responsiveness of the company.

It went beautifully. Tony explained every step and recommended repairs to the oil furnace pipe system. His photos resulted in our oil folks fixing the furnace within 2 days.

I got one price first and then a second price after they were done. I was told that it was going to be $299. They charged me $399. Then, when I called in, the guy told me that I could never have been quoted that price because that's not what they charge. He took $50 off.
