Master Chimney Sweepers

The technician arrived early and was very pleasant. He was thorough and efficient in inspecting all required elements including climbing on the roof to inspect the chimney. We'd been having an air quality problem in our home and he was patient in answering all my questions and trying to determine the cause with us. Because of the air quality problem we had been planning to replace the furnace smoke pipe but the technician told us it was unnecessary. He saved us a lot of money! He seemed determined to help us achieve what we needed at minimal cost, and avoided a hard sell.

I do not feel at all secure and out their integrity in recommending a chimney liner. And their price was just insanely high.

The scheduler was very prompt. After telling me he wouldn't be able to do it until after Christmas, he found a cancellation and had a guy out within a few days. The fellow who did the work was prompt and professional. All the work was done well and he cleaned up all remnants. I would recommend them again although I imagine you might be able to save a few bucks if you look hard enough.

Very good service. Responsive, clear and informative on the phone. Offered to call if they had a cancellation sooner than our appointment. They ended up calling one day with a cancellation and were able to fit us in that day. The person who showed up was very nice and very professional. He did a good job on the work, provided thorough explanations of things and did not try to sell us things we didn't need. Overall, I was very happy with the service.

This is our first winter season in this 1953 home, so we wanted to have both flues inspected and cleaned in necessary. Jason arrived on time and first inspected the chimney. The fireplace had child locks on it, but one side of the fireplace door was loose. I casually asked if these doors were hard to change and he said no. He told me how to use the damper and worked on it for awhile to loosen it, because it was stiff from lack of use. I didn't realize until later that he fixed the loose door for me; very sweet. He cleaned the furnace flue and locked up the basement door for me. He didn't leave any mess whatsoever. He was a very quiet and professional chimney sweep. He also gave a $20 discount for being an Angie's List referral.

Derek was very nice and professional. He called this morning to change original appointment of November 16 to this afternoon- Oct 13 (which was great for us!). Arrived on time and performed work described above. Overall good experience, but a bit pricey!

Called for an estimate on a chimney cleaning and servicing on 2 fireplaces. We decided not to use them, because they were much more expensive than the other estimates we got. They charged $209/flue.

Difficult to get a timely appointment (in June). Company called the morning of our appointment to reschedule later in the day, but failed to keep the later appointment or even tell us they wouldn't be coming. Telephone call at 5 pm that afternoon went to a message service. Rescheduled appointment for a week later, which they met. Quality of work was good overall. Pricing quotes over the phone were a little confusing at first- I prefer written quotes- but were on a fixed scale. Company offers discounts for off-season work and readily included the Angie's List discount in the price.

The man who did the work was professional and nice, although when he worked, the gap between his shirt and pants was comically large, and the rear view met the stereotypes one might see in a TV sitcom. The work itself seemed to be competent. However, the company had cleaned our chimney previously and called to offer an off-season discount, but the invoice instead shows a ''previous customer'' discount, which I presumably deserve no matter the time of year. Also, they would not honor the Angie's List coupon because of the other discount, which seems unfair and somewhat deceptive.

Excellent to work with - very clear beforehand re: estimates. Called to confirm. Came on time. Explained recommendations and costs clearly - and confirmed work to be done. Nick was very helpful re: advice, very pleasant, and seemed to do a thorough, neat job. I plan to use them again in the future - and would recommend them.

THE CHIMNEY SWEEPERS WERE GREAT. THEY EVEN REPLACED A SCREEN THAT FELL ON TO THE ROOF DURING A RECENT STORM. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THEIR QUALITY OF WORK WAS GREAT.

I had an unexpected appointment on the day the company was supposed to come, so they stayed in touch with me and came when I got home. Nick was very helpful and informative. He even assessed the condition of the wood in our woodpile when I complained about excess smoke. I would definitely hire Master Chimney Sweepers again and will recommend them to friends.

Very timely responses to calls. It took about a month for us to get on the schedule (which was fine . . .). When they came, they were professional and helpful. We will use them again for follow-up work.
