They spread a large blanket on the floor to project the area from the cleaning. They also inspected the lining in side and out and made a suggestion to protect the brick outside.

We have been using them for a long long time and from time to time when they think it is time for the next turn they give us a call and we make an appointment. We have never had any problems with them. They give us a reminder call when the service needs to be performed. My impression of their people that I have come in contact with is very good. Their quality of work is good.

The workers were very respectful and did the work quickly. I was very impressed that one worker took his boots off before entering my home while the other wore booties over his boots. They answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. I later had a problem with how I was using my wood stove and called the company back. The owner called me back and talked me through the process and gave me his direct line in case my husband wanted to tallk to him or if I had any follow up questions.

Although I didn't use this provider I was impressed that they responded to my request quickly.

After asking a few questions on the phone about my chimney and oil burner they quoted the price on the phone. Showed up exactly as promised. There was a huge amount of soot at the base of my chimney that had to be shoveled out. I thought the job would make a mess but was pleasantly surprised at how neat the service man was getting it done. Price was exactly as quoted when done. Very pleased

They said that they were very busy, and gave me an appointment about 30 days from the day I called. They said that they would put me on the wait list, and call me if there was a cancellation in the meantime. A couple of days later they called and said they had someone available if it would be convenient for me. I said I could be back home in about 20 minutes. About 25 minutes later Sean came. He was polite, friendly, and efficient. The work was done quickly, with no stress to me. I probably could have had the work done at a lesser expense, since I was quoted lower prices by other sweepers, but when I talked to Master I got the feeling that they were competent and understood what I needed. Sometimes these big companies with a lot of resources are a bit pricey. But I did have my Angie's List coupon, which brought the price down. I wouldn't hesitate to use Master Chimney Sweepers again.

Cleaned the chimney which is connected to the wood stove. Went well. Have used this company for the past two years. My only comment would be that it is a pricey serive for cleaning, but the cleaning was much better than cleanings I have had done by other chimney sweep companies.

We had a single flue chimney and a double-flue chimney cleaned. The guy from Master Chimney came within the scheduled window. He put on booties to avoid tracking in any snow or ice. He also put down a huge drop-cloth in front of the fireplace to avoid getting the floor dirty. He was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was also honest about items that can wait to be addressed, where another vendor might have pushed for additional service/repairs.

From start to finish Randy was very thorough, professional, and considerate. When I called Master Chimney Pro to schedule the job, they immediately referred me to Randy who had the most experience with antique chimneys. He promptly returned my call, explained in detail the cost for sweeping and inspecting each chimney, plus the cost should a video inspection be necessary, and showed up at my house at the agreed upon time. Throughout the work, he readily answered my questions about the condition of each chimney and explained further work that needed to be done (very minor firebox and hearth repointing in a few cases). He explained that a video inspection was not necessary due to his findings during sweeping, his bill matched his initial cost estimate, and he provided an initial discount. Lastly he left my house as he found it, very clean. I recommend Randy McEvoy at Master Chimney Pro and would use him again for future chimney sweeping.

They were here for a couple of hours. They gave me an Angie’s List discount of $40. My living room was just as clean as it was before they arrived and I was worried about that. It was like he wasn’t even here, they cleaned up so well!

I did not use the chimney sweep. The price appeared to be high so I wanted to research more companies. They were very friendly and responsive over the phone.

They have not performed the service yet as they inspected my chimney and suggested that we wait until after the season. However, he called to let me know that he was running about 10 minutes late, and I thought it was incredibly courteous of him to call! He said that he would put me on his calendar for march, so I hope to hear from him then.

This is our second year using Master Chimney Sweepers. Master Chimney Sweepers scheduled a four hour block of time when they would arrive, called first thing in the morning to confirm, and then called about an hour before the beginning of the block to let me know they could be there half an hour earlier if I'd be around (I was). Vinny came out and inspected our two fireplaces and our oil furnace flue. He made the recommendation that we clean one of the fireplaces and the furnace. This was in line with what we expected would happen. He was very respectful of the house, putting sheets down around the fireplace while he was vacuuming, making sure not to let the dog sneak out, etc. He would stop regularly to let me know what he found, what that meant for me, and what the next steps were. He also let me know of a few problems that were starting to develop, and let me know how many years out before I'd likely need to address them. When he was done, he was quick to write up my receipt, accept a check, answer some final questions, and he was on his way. The price was slightly more than what I had expected, but that may just be because I didn't do any comparison shopping for this service, which would be my only advise to those looking for this (or anything, obviously). They seem to always be offering money off ($ off for returning customers, $ for Angies List coupons, $ for mentioning Ads, etc), so make sure to take advantage. Quite honestly, even if they're slightly more than their competitors, I'll happily pay for this level of customer service and work.

Mark was great! Explained everything prior to working on the chimney and then after explained everything and answered all my questions. Cleaned up everything as well. He also gave me an estimate to have a flue replaced for my gas furnace next year. Would recommend to friends etc.

Didnt go with them price to high compared to others

He was fantastic. He arrived per schedule; neat and well groomed (at least as one would expect for this type of work), had tools and supplies ready, and was very willing to show me the areas of problems and explain what--and why--he was doing his tasks. He left the area clean. He was unable to check the draft as the boiler wouldn't start. The individual who had cleaned the boiler had removed a safety device to prevent the boiler from running...and as it had been a year since I'd seen this done (and boiler maintenance is not my field) I never thought of it. This individual checked the draft and said it is working fine. Jay is a very pleasant individual; he did discuss liners in response to my questions.H e had also checked the outside of the chimney re height from the ground. If I were you, I'd keep him on staff. Thanks for the quick response. PS: ws also discussed conversion to gas heat..initiated by me.

I contacted Master Chimney Sweepers to inspect the chimneys of a new house that I was about to buy. They charged me $329 (which seemed absurd considering the amount of time they spent at the house). Their written report stated that my oil flue was in poor condition and recommend replacement. They also stated that all my chimneys needed sweeping. In addition, they stated that two of my chimneys needed a damper. They e-mailed me a bunch of photographs which were unintelligible. My gut told me to seek a second opinion. I called another company - that came out to look at my property for free - and spent about 3 times as long at my place. It turns out that my oil flue is in perfectly good shape. My fireplaces did not need sweeping (in fact they hadn't been used in so long, there were cobwebs) and the one chimney that needed a damper was actually sealed closed. Based on my experience I would NOT recommend working with Master Chimney Sweepers.

He was very nice. knew what he was doimg. I would hav him do more work when I can afford it, He priced right. Good luck. He is Good.

I don't think you should pay $299 for an estimate. It should be free. They were not even looking at the job site and still making an estimate.

They said they would knock of 30% so the total for work would be $1030... Quote OVER THE PHONE. Another company came in, and pretty much went over the list of things that DIDNT need to be done that MCS said needed to be done. They performed a thorough inspection of our Chimney, inside and out, and the furnace system, etc. Total cost for "routine" items IF we really felt strongly about it - $650!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN MCS have such high ratings stumps us. Im sure they do great work. But they are over priced and don't need our business because they didn't even bother to send someone in. They must've done good work on this 30 year old chimney in the past, because it is really in great shape... But we don't know if it was always them or whom. All we know is that the company that did come in - would charge a fraction for what MCS was charging, and they came highly recommended by neighbors...

Two-man team came and swept and inspected chimney. Unlike other chimney sweepers they did not try to sell me a lining or a cap. They also informed me that the fireplace flue did not need to be swept, only the furnace flue. And they gave useful advice on the ash disposal trap (not to use it). They were very polite and professional.

They were on time, cleaned up well, and were in and out. The service was excellent. I also asked for a chimney cap, they quoted me a price almost double of other quotes I had received, so I went with a different provider for the chimney cap.
