Description of Work: Fred is awesome. So knowledgeable and professional. He's great at what he does, and also recommended the architect we ended up using (whom we also love). We would happily recommend him to friends.

Description of Work: Assessed the major settling in my condo.

Description of Work: The senior consultant who came spent as much time talking about irrelevant things as doing the actual work. I had to remind him several times what the task was. The question for Cowan was what was causing what appeared to be subsidence on part of the back of the house. Another structural engineer, engaged so the house could go on the market, diagnosed the problem immediately, in detail, and provided recommendations of who could do the work.

Description of Work: Fred visited our home to validate whether or not a primary support beam needed to be strengthened in order to support an addition (upper floor) to the structure. He was very thorough, took pictures of several portions of the beam and reviewed prior engineering documents before rendering an opinion. He gave us the OK and ultimately saved us between $3,000 and $5,000 worth of work that didn't actually need to be performed.

Description of Work: They came, looked at the condo (it's a 3 story building) and the same day produced a report detailing what was and was not wrong.
