Description of Work: Gary and his company re-roofed our colonial style house. They did a great job on the job and were very careful about not doing any damage on our property or to our landscaping surrounding the house. They were on time and completed the job in one day (amazing). Very pleased.

Description of Work: This time he just replace part of a fascia board. He did this for free as a favor since he has done several roofs in the family. He also cleans gutters in the fall. We have always been very happy with his work.

+ -1 moreGary did an estimate for a rubber roof repair. He had great references from people like real estate agents and other contractors who hire him. (No individual references, though, interestingly). I was told by a reference I was "lucky to have found him." I was looking forward to getting the repair done. Everything seemd fine until I asked him for proof of his insurance (important since I've been burned on one rubber roof, last year!) He told me this made him nervous. I assured him that I had no intent of filing a claim, but that it seems like good practice to get such info. We discussed the details of a contract, and I asked a lot of questions (I'm a very detail-oriented person). I faxed him my understanding of the changes we had discussed, asking him to let me know if I got it right. He never called me back and wouldn't answer my calls (previously he had picked up right away). He ignored two messages that I left for him. So I had to start at square one with other contractors. Probably for the best.
