Hired Dave to install new gas boiler/water heater as part of our conversion from oil to gas heat. The process could not have gone smoother. Since Dave does many of these conversions he was able to guide us through the process working with National Grid. Telling us what to do and when and what to expect at each juncture. His experience in dealing with these conversions helped us avoid both headaches and delays. When National Grid gave us one days notice as to when they would be installing the gas line, Dave worked with us and began the installation the next business day. Job was done in two days and everything was done right the first time. Dave also was able to give us a contact to remove our oil tank as well as working with the town for the inspection of the work and National Grid with the installation of the meter. We were extremely please in Dave's work from the intial meeting all the way though the final inspection.

Great service and I would defintely use these guys again. I called that day and he had someone out that evening to help me w/ the back up of our main sewer line. This is after Roto rooter (NEVER USE THEM) blew me off twice. Pricing was reasonable and they got the job done! Power Plumbing is great and I will definitely contact again for future jobs.

Dave Power was professional, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I contacted the gas company to convert my house from an oil furnace to natural gas. They provided Dave Power?s contact info. After reading many excellent reviews on Angie?s List and thoroughly reviewing Dave?s website, we scheduled a meeting for an estimate. His estimate was in line with others I had received, but the explanations and recommendations Dave provided conveyed a level of expertise that we didn?t get from the other plumbers. I decided to go ahead with Dave, submitted the paperwork to the gas company and waited for them to schedule running a gas line to the house. A few months later the gas company contacted me regarding the gas line. By this point my wife was nine-months pregnant. My immediate concern was that because of the gas company?s delay, she?d go into labor while the house was being worked on. I spoke to Dave, explained my situation, and he managed to schedule the conversion for the third business day following the gas company?s work. Dave Power and his crew removed the oil furnace, oil tank and installed the new gas furnace efficiently and professionally. He ran the pvc for the direct vent exactly where my wife and I wanted it even though this created more work for Dave and his team. Everyone involved treated my family politely and my property with respect. The day after the installation, while the town inspector was meeting with Dave to sign off on the work, my smoke detectors went off. Dave went above and beyond what was expected. He took time to make sure my house was secure, contacted me about the smoke detectors and offered his personal opinion on what could be causing the issue. He even followed up the next day to see if I was able to solve the problem, which I was. The timing of this was an amazing coincidence and had nothing to do with Dave?s installation. When all is said and done, I am extremely happy with Dave and the work he and his crew completed. We cannot recommend him enough. Furthermore, the work is complete and my pregnant wife has not yet gone into labor. We will turn to Dave Power for all of our plumbing and heating needs from now on.

On August 1, 2014 I contacted Powers Plumbing with an emergency need for a new hot water heater. I was promptly contacted to set up an appointment for the same day, which was amazing. After discussing my options, Dave Powers came back the next morning to complete the job of installing my new hot water heater. Dave Powers and his associates were there when they said were going to be there and the job was completed and very well done. I was absolutely thrilled with the service provided and my hot water heater was up and running in a few hours. I would recommend Powers Plumbing in a heartbeat and with 100% confidence. Search no further if you are in the market for a new furnace. Dave Power actually responds to inquiries and in a timely manner. He came promptly to inspect my property, gave me an estimate which was very fair, and scheduled and completed the job within a few weeks. He is knowledgeable, experienced, professional and he also arranged for my old furnace and oil tank to be removed promptly from my property. I recommend him without hesitation.

He found no leaks and didn't charge. Now I'll go after Boston Water and sewer-bills usage was as high or higher for the past 2 months than a few years ago when I started conserving after hearing www.saveourground water in NH-taking water from frugal people for bottled water (I lived in NH and remember about having to be careful about water usage-in the city became wasteful-want honest water bills to keep track.

Dave Power was prompt, courteous, and professional. He responded very quickly to my emergency call regarding a kitchen sink drain that was backing up. Even though it was a holiday (Memorial Day), he arrived within an hour of my call and took care of the problem!

We had an emergency situation where our furnace was destroyed in a fire. Dave responded right away to our call. They came and replaced the furnace, hot water heater and the AC. We had them install a basement sink while they were here. They did a great job, were friendly, professional. We submitted it under MassSaves and he knew the whole process. I would definitely use him again.

It went great. Dave and his team diagnosed the problem(s) quickly and were able to get us hot water within a few hours. They were on time, professional and super nice. Dave even texted me a few days later to check in to see if we were still good with hot water. Would recommend these guys to anyone.

He came to change out the garbage disposal in my rental unit. After leaving he called me and stated that the kitchen faucet was barely dripping and a new one was needed. Both times he called my renter and set up an appt with her, which was very helpful for me. The only problem was the price seemed a bit steep for me, but I do live across the country in OR. Maybe that is the going rate in Boston, I haven't lived there in a while.

Excellent service. I called Saturday morning he came out that afternoon and had my hot water working that day. He had everything he needed on his truck and even cleaned up after himself! I had a couple of other problems going on that he discussed with me and was very informative. I even got a call a couple of days later to make sure everything was working right. I will definitely be calling him again.

I had used Dave in Jan 2014 for an emergency. Given the situation of 113 yr old house & not knowing all until he started working on it, I was VERY nervous & going in for surgery a couple of days later. Dave came over (after I had another company come to talk to me). He was clear he wouldn't know until he got into it. He seems very knowledgeable and trustworthy & I was in a bind. The day of my surgery, he came over, took care of everything & then came back a few days later to go over everything with me. At that time, pointed out my water heaters had passed their warranty & I thought hmmm, do I want to deal with a flood at midnight on a Saturday in the winter again? He gave me a very competitive quote, put in an extra rod so it would last longer & we are all set.

I called him to get a quote and he said he ONLY gives quote on Weekend! Then I asked him to come and fix the problem of not having heat in my house. He started to troubleshoot my old boiler. I have found out that he was not familiar with the kind of boiler I have and he tried to learn it by the trail and error approaches! He eventually found out that there is a water leakage on the back room and fixed it. He worked for about 6 hours and wanted to charge me for $1425. When he fixed my boiler, the day after that I found out my heater is working continuously without shutting off on a specific temperature. He told me that I have to come and check it and then he told me the problem is to change a part of boiler that may be more than $1000. I told him my boiler was working and shutting off without any problem before asking him to come over to fix the water leakage and he may have touched other parts of my boiler. Then he suddenly found out the problem and fixed it and that was the zone valve that he touched it and play a little bit to be familiar with my boiler earlier. He just reseated that zone valve and the problem was fixed. Then I saw that he charged me for fixing his mistake in the bill and I objected to him and he dropped it. He is very expensive plumber and he charges what he wants!

From start to finish it was a professional, stress-free job. I spoke with Dave Powers on the phone and gave him a description of the work to be done, and he was able to provide a ballpark estimate over the phone. I was under a time constraint as I have contractors coming to perform work which could not begin until the radiator was moved. Dave assured me that they would be able to get the job done the week before the contractors were to begin. Dave asked me to provide pictures of the work area, which I did via email, and he followed up with an email that the work required would be slightly different than what he had originally scoped, but that it would not be a problem getting the work done on time. Dave called at the beginning of the week the work was to be performed and told me that I was scheduled for Tuesday. He and his associate arrived promptly as scheduled on Tuesday, assessed the situation, and got down to work. It was clear that they knew what they were doing, and the job was completed in about half a day. Dave also took the time to review some other plumbing and heating issues in my house, offering suggestions about what should be addressed and what doesn't need to be done. It's clear that Dave has plenty of business to keep him busy, and isn't interested in selling work that isn't needed. Dave and his associate Scott were professional yet relaxed, and it was a pleasure having them work in my house. I'll definitely use them again when I tackle some of the other plumbing projects on my list. Oh, and the work came in right on estimate, which was about equal to or lower than other estimates I had received.

Very well, in fact he helped me line up a electrician and coordinate a time they would be at my home at the same time to install the new electric water heater. He called back to make sure that the installations were working properly. That's a first............

They fixed my pipe which burst in the cold weather because my zone valve died. The replaced the valve and now the heat works great. nice guys, came really quickly but cost more than I expected.

Called on a Sunday asking for a service visit on Monday, left a message with the answering service. My phone rang promptly at 8am on Monday. Dave Powers calling to set up a time for same day appointment. He arrived with his assistant a few hours later. Very nice, approachable and funny guys. And professional. They fixed the leaking hot and cold water feeds to sink and a broken valve. Took some time given how difficult it was to access around a very large disposal unit. I appreciated that Dave pointed out he would not remove the disposal despite the difficulty accessing the leaks (behind the disposal). He could have said he had to remove it, which would have led to a much more costly job. Left the area clean and neat.

Had called for frozen pipes but friend I'd called earlier came over and unfroze pipes. When I called plumber back he was very excepting and seem to know business very well and familar with S.Boston I would call him for future problems

We were initially given Power Plumbing and Heating's contact information through the Mass HEAT Loan program to get an estimate for the conversion of oil heat to gas heat (we had an existing gas line in the house). After meeting Dave and getting a quote, we decided to have him and his crew complete the conversion. We had a Navien gas boiler and tankless water heater combo unit installed which Dave highly recommended. The work was completed on time (3 days). When the work was done, Dave and his team left the area clean. Overall very satisfied with the work that was completed.

The experience with Power Plumbing was a great one. There was great communication, excellent diagnosis, and the persistence to follow through with the fix with a sensitivity to time. Our battle with our heating system spanned more than a year. We had had multiple other plumbers come to diagnose our heating system with nothing but a big bill to show for it afterward. Dave Power was able to come up with the right diagnosis within the first hour and was able to identify the right steps to get us to resolution for the second visit. He found and fixed the problem none of our previous plumbers could even find. I would definitely use him again.

Thanksgiving evening discovered water in the basement and tenants leaking water heater. After waiting around all day Friday for Sears promised "same day installation", learned that installation actually wasn't occurring until Monday. By now it was very late Friday afternoon and I didn't want the Tenants to have to go 4 days without hot water. Got on Angie's List and called several plumbers. Dave called back immediately and made an appointment for the next morning (Sat). He showed up early, and his fee was was exactly midway in the range he quoted. He was professional and knowledgeable and the job took exactly the length of time he estimated. I would definitely use him again.

Our carbon monoxide detectors went off on a Saturday morning. The gas company determined the source to be the furnace. We called Dave late on Saturday afternoon. He responded within 20 minutes, and then was early for our appointment! He did a very thorough inspection of the furnace and connections to the chimney, even using a camera to try to see up our chimney, inside the furnace and pipes, etc. The cause of the carbon monoxide was determined to be a very dirty furnace caused by lack of ventilation in the basement (and possibly improper installation). Dave didn't have the tools he needed with him, but left to get them and returned. He stayed for several hours, ensuring the furnace was spotless, replacing the vents from the furnace to the chimney. He then proceeded to test for carbon monoxide throughout the entire house. He also gave us tips for how to avoid this problem in the future. And an unexpected bonus -- our heat seems to be working better than it ever has! We received a follow-up call 2 days later checking to see if everything was working ok. This is unbelievable service in my opinion. We hope we have found a new plumber for any of our future needs. Final bill seemed fair based on the time (a Saturday evening), as well as the time it took Dave (4 hours).
