The person who came was very polite and efficient. However, I felt that the service was too costly for the jobs that were performed. I received a $200 discount through Angie's list or the cost would have been over $800.

There was a lot of back and forth via email. I was quoted a price of $400 (4 hours) for cleaning out gutters, fixing a curtain rod, fixing a sliding closet door that wasn't sliding anymore, turning over a compost pile and raking leaves in a very small yard. Dan quoted this price without coming to look at the house. When I told him that I wanted only the 2 hours agreed to in the Angie's List special, Dan told me they would only be able to fix the curtain rod and sliding closet door. When Luis came out on November 2, he completed the two tasks in one hour. He was very helpful and professional, and the quality of his work was excellent.

There was a lot of correspondence via email, and I had a few small things that needed to be done, but the entire time I got the impression that they were trying to make a large job out of the small one. I also was never able to set up a definite appointment for the work. I'm ready to go with a different company at this point. I can't say anything as to the quality of the work, I just think they are very busy with all the Deals that were purchased.

It went very well and we are very pleased.

Luis arrived at my home on time. He was very courteous and professional. He completed the scheduled task expediently and also helped with a couple of other additional items. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing handyman services.

Luis was very helpful and professional. He is also a good salesman: He pointed out several things that needed to be done that I had not considered and he took care of them on the day. He also pointed out some problems that will need to be addressed in the future. I was very pleased with the work that was done: Replacing a wood piece near the corner of the gutter, calked and painted.

Our beloved handyman of 25 years died. When the need for small exterior repairs built up, we called this company based on Angie's List recommendations. Our image of a "handyman" is based on our one-guy-one truck past experience, and that is not what Dan De Angeli is. Dan De Angeli, himself, seems to be the owner of the company and the boss, and he summons up one or more actual handymen for the job. At least that is the impression we got. The service was extremely fast and good. When we called, Dan had a man at our house the same day or the next day, and gave us a quote for the work pronto. The actual handyman was a very intelligent, nice, and skilled carpenter/painter named Luis who always showed up when he was supposed to (or called when unavoidably detained). He did an excellent job on all the work. The job kept growing, as Luis found and pointed out to us additional little areas that needed touchup work---but they all seemed legitimate. Luis cleaned up meticulously at the end of each workday. Dan and Luis were a pleasure to work with. My only concern about using this company again is the price. We paid $4700 approximately for the services plus $330 for the new shutters plus $331" for "materials---paint, gas, lumber, etc." We were charged $100 an hour for the services of Luis. Though we do not have wide experience, that seems rather high for handyman services. I wonder how much of this Luis gets. We received a small discount for "prompt payment." In general Dan seemed to want to get paid as soon as possible. Since he is extremely prompt in providing the services, I guess it's reasonable to expect prompt payment in return!

Small job, but very pleased with results

I bought an Angie's List deal for $69 for 2 hours of work. Dan's second contractor did an awesome job installing two ceiling fans in 2 hours. He was very nice, easy to talk to and knew what he was doing. The most impressive thing about the owner is that he will make sure that the work is done correctly even if he takes a loss, at least that was my experience. What happened was that the first contractor that came wasn't able to install a single fan in the two hours and he damaged the one fan that he tried to install. That contractor told Dan that it wasn't his fault, that my ceiling was the problem. I could tell that Dan was conflicted but then he said "the customer is always right, i will have an electrician pick up another fan and install the fans for you". Dan happened to go on vacation but he still responded to my emails and calls. Ultimately I am very happy with Dan's company because he makes sure his customers are happy.

From beginning to end they were great

They did exactly what I asked them to do and they were able to finish within the allotted time frame. I have no complaints and would certainly consider hiring them again.

Dan was very professional and very personable. I would have used him, but his price was significantly higher than a second estimate I obtained. I will not hesitate to contact him again if I need additional work done.

Things go smoothly if you can send a picture of the job and arrange for needed supplies. We happened to already have an extra matching fencepost in the cellar.

I took advantage of Angie's Big Deal - $69 for 2 hours of Handyman Service from this company. When I called, I spoke directly to Dan (Dan de Angeli Home Improvement) and he arranged for Noel to come by to repair some doors that were not closing. Noel was going to be a few minutes late but called to tell me, which shows courtesy for my time. When Noel arrived, he introduced himself, I told him what needed to be done, and he went right to work. In two hours, he fixed six doors. Well worth the $69 I paid and I will call Dan again for any future work that needs to be done.

The guy who came told me that they charge $100 per hour for the job if no coupon was given, which was too much.

I bought a Angieslist.com deal from Dan DeAngeli Home Improvement for 2 hours of hangman services for $69. I scheduled the appointment and he failed to show up, call or reschedule. I had to call to reschedule, and again, he failed to show up, call or reschedule. Upon discussing this with Dan over the phone, he was rude, inconsiderate and stated "we are swamped and don't go to your town that often." He was not apologetic initially, and only was after I suggested a poor Angies List review. Overall, there was a gross lack of professionalism.

,Don deAngelis answered my call immediately and communication was excellent. He adapted easily to my schedule. Noel, an experienced carpenter, did fine work, came on time, was friendly and courteous and showed good judgment. This is an old (1906) house. His advice was helpful. I recommend Don deAngelis/Noel highly.

Dan promptly returned my call and setup a same-day time to come by our home to provide an estimate for a bathroom project and front and side door replacement. He is a very nice guy, however I felt as though he did not take our request for estimates very seriously. Regarding the door project, he suggested I figure out exactly what door I want first - the past 2 contractors provided options and estimates. Regarding the bathroom project, although we greatly appreciated his recommendations, he wouldn't really provide his estimate until he asked a few times what our budget was (which should not impact his cost for the project). He did leave giving us a "ballpark" cost idea that was 2x as high and longer then 2 other professional contractors - and then told us to "save our money" and call him later in order to do the job right. At that point, he told us he was tired and leaving, before we could ask any final questions. Again, he was a nice gentleman, and I don't mind getting different estimates, just felt that he because we were a young couple with a small bathroom/house project - we weren't taken seriously.

Almost every aspect was either done incorrectly or counter to what I asked for. He ended up getting the wrong tile and installing the wrong pattern. He did seem very honest and nice, and the project was about 2 years ago, so maybe he has learned a lot since then. As far as character, I would say he was just fine, but not the best workmanship.

I was impressed with their work. They did a thorough job, and didn't take any shortcuts. I would use them again.

I would recommend them highly for their professionalism and craftsmanship. I would not recommend them, however, for their painting.
