Ferrimy Construction

Service was fantastic. We spoke in the am and he came by late afternoon/ early evening. Given that the next three days called for rain I really appreciated his willingness to come out so fast! He fixed the seems and added another layer to the seal around vent pipe. Additionally he had the initiative to pull some rogue nails around the pipe area and flash/seal appropriately. Sent me pictures of all the work. Looking forward to using him again in future and currently discussing other projects.

I think they're all about the same price.

It wasn't cheap, but I feel a whole lot more secure knowing there is no water seeping into my walls until we can get the insulation and air sealing done. I really appreciated the prompt response and great work.

He said we didn't need any of the work recommended by the inspector, saving us thousands of dollars. He refused to take any money for coming to look at the roof.

Job was good; however, one person forgot to install a window in the attic AND left his tools here. About a week later Ferrimy installed the window in the attic.

Sam, came out within a day assessed the damage and suggested a repair. He was back by the end of the day to repair the roof damage and followed up with an inspection and tips to watch for in the future

Sam was quick to respond to my emails and came immediately to quote me, after normal business hours - which I thought was wonderful! He was patient with me while I checked other companies, but no one gave me the attention and patience that Sam did. When I was ready he came almost immediately, and got my roof repair and gutters fixed. I was pleased that he had no problem working around the 5 kids I have and obviously busy household. He was clean, and was finished fast, something I needed to have most importantly. I wouldn't reach out to anyone else ever again.

A few months ago Sam came to my house within a few days of my call. We talked and he looked at my roof. He provided a detailed estimate within 24 hours. I have two kids starting college this fall, so I haven't had the work done yet, but I was impressed with Sam's knowledge and professionalism.

I have recently moved back into home that I had been renting out for over two years. Once I took a look at my back roof, I knew I had a problem. All the roof tiles on the back of our addition were green with moss and large tall weeds/plants were growing out of the gutters and off of the roof. I thought this would be an expensive replacement. Sam and Melany were quick to respond and they managed to work me in quickly. Ferrimy Construction spent hours cleaning the tiles where the moss had rooted, cleaned all the gutters, and even powerwashed the deck in their cleanup. They never suggested a costly replacement and it looks like new! Their employees worked around my children and giant dogs and cleaned up beautifully when they were done. Excellent work, professional staff and a great experience. Would definitely use them again and refer friends to them.

I have recently returned to a house I have been renting out. When I moved back in, my back roof shingles were covered in moss and had tall plants growing on it and in the gutters. I called Ferrimy Roofing and Sam and Melany were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They were busy but managed to schedule me in a reasonable period of time. I thought I was in for a major roof replacement but Ferrimy Construction was able to fix it for a very reasonable price, His employees were fantastic with my kids and dogs underfoot and cleaned the moss (which was actually taking root) and it looks good as new. The gutters are now empty and ready for winter and while they were there they power-washed my deck. I would use this company again.

Sam was very punctual at first and provided a detailed quote very quickly. I accepted his quote without any negotiating and then mentioned that I had a 10% coupon on Angie's list that Ferrimy Construction posted. That's when I received the silent treatment. about 4 ays later I called to ask if he saw my message and he advised that he was really busy and did not see my message. He did say that he would reply back that evening. He didn't. I sent a follow-up email about a week later after my first contact and I still did not get an reasonably (24-48hrs) expedient reply. I decided to go elsewhere but then I received a notice almost a week afterwards by someone named Melanie. She was very courteous in her email. I expressed that I would like to move forward with the quoted figure and would like to take advantage of the Angie's list coupon which they posted (it is one of the reason after all why I contacted them first ..along with generally positive reviews) . Melanie said she'd have to check with Sam first regarding the coupon that they posted. It's now 1.5" weeks later and no follow-up. I have someone else doing my roof now who also had positive reviews. I didn't mind paying more, just would have appreciated customer responsiveness when conducting business. I'm also a strong believer in ethical practices as I didn't want to encounter a scenario where I signed an agreement and have the vendor ignore the coupon afterwards. So I mentioned it up front after the quote. I'm not say they would have done this.... I just found it strange that they were responsive up front and I could not get a response after I mentioned a coupon. I am speculating however that they later figured that a 10% coupon was a bit much as Angies list now shows a $200 coupon off any job over $5000 at the time of this writing.

On April 7, 2016 there was a storm with strong winds and rain. The wind literally lifted the rubber roof on the dormer portion of our roof. After calling several roofing contractors, I reached Sam Ferrimy. He said he had a crew in our area and could get them to our condo in about 30 minutes, and did! The crew went up on our roof while the rain and wind continued and managed to secure the damaged rubber roof until arrangements could be made to repair/replace the roof. My condo associates and I appreciate the positive and timely response from the Ferrimy Construction crew. Great job!

Several workers on site to accomplish job. Draped the house for protection so only minor damage occurred (and was remedied when pointed out). Sam was responsive to my calls and pleasant to work with.

Ferrimy had a lot of work so getting started took awhile. But there was a time crunch to finish his work before spray foam insulation and he worked hard to complete what needed to be done in time for insulation. The interior repairs look great.

In April of 2015 we needed our roof replaced prior to having Solar installed. Ferrimy is very professional and stand behind their work. The job was done on the date promised and was finished when it was supposed to be. They thoroughly cleaned up. Our new roof looks beautiful. What has really sold me on Ferrimy is in February of 2016 I noticed that part of the roof ridge was on the ground. I called Ferrimy the next day and they immediately came out and inspected the roof. Ferrimy told me that the solar installers had walked all over the roof ridge and damaged it extensively (it is fragile and not supposed to be walked on). Even though the damage was not caused by Ferrimy they did a full roof ridge replacement at no charge. Ferrimy Construction is worth every dollar that we spent. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Sam was super responsive, courteous, straightforward and professional. A pleasure to work with!

One of the representatives from Ferrimy came out to look at the problem then sent us an estimate. We sent them a deposit and they did not contact us to set a date. I called maybe in late August and I think I spoke to the owner who did not know much about us or if he had received our check. There was NO communication and clearly no organization on their part.

This company had previously and successfully repaired a leak in the roof, so I turned to them again to repair the downspouts that last winter's snow had torn down. It was a nightmare to schedule with them. They scheduled times to come and didn't come repeatedly. And then finally did the work on a day they weren't scheduled so I wasn't even home! That said, as far as I can tell, the work is sound. The winter will show, of course. I would use them again, but only because I basically couldn't get another roofing/gutter company to return my calls for a job this small.

Sam was supposed to come to my house on October 24th. He didn't call and did not show up. I called to find out what happened and never received a call back.

I called and spoke to Sam. He was supposed to come to my house to review the job (gutters and some extra work). I called to confirm the next day and he did not answer or return my call. I called 2 more times in the following days and never received a return phone call.

Good inspection, bad follow-through.

In fairness, at least he came out to look at the job. I had been having difficulties getting roofers to look at it because it is a relatively "small" job. If he had been able to give me a bid that stated the work to be done, he would have gotten the job.

Sam responded to my initial inquiry quickly and was able to perform the evaluation in a very timely manner. Sam was very knowledgeable, helpful, and generous with his time. He explained very clearly what was needed to address what was observed. He gave detailed suggestions, most of which did not require his crew. His openness and honesty was exemplary. I'm not sure others would have handled this matter the same way. Also, as Sam was advising me about what I asked him to come out for, he was very nice to point out some adjustments (to unrelated work others had done recently) that would be good to make (so that the work will look and hold up better over time). Sam was very constructive, respectful and professional when he shared this information. I view my receiving this additional information as Sam going "above and beyond" to help me. He is a very generous and kind soul. And I look forward to working with him again.

Sam's part went very well. He came out personally to bid the job, and again to supervise the initial stages of the work. I was impressed by the fact that he personally supervised and was very clear about how the work should be done to provide a quality job. Later, his on-site supervisor and crew were efficient, and took the time to do a good job. Unfortunately for us both, my home requires larger clapboards than are currently in common use. A local lumbar yard is normally able to source them for me quickly. Not the case this time. Sam ordered the boards and was continually told that they would "be in on Monday... then Wednesday... then Monday" This went on for 2 months. I know this was not Sam's fault because I was in touch with him regularly, and visited the lumbar yard personally. Apparently there was a shortage in New England. Finally, I found almost enough in my own lumbar pile. Sam's crew came and was able to complete 75% of the job with my boards... and we still waited 2 more weeks for the lumbar yard to get new inventory of the boards. So Sam's crew had to come 3 times to do installation of clapboards, in a job that probably could have been completed in one short day. It's now finished and it looks great! I will call on Sam again for help in the future.
