Sam came out inspected my roof, climbing up there with me and inspecting the roof. Description of Work: Asked about multiple projects which were listed as services they provide such as deck and addition on home. Because I also mentioned possibly a half bath they said they don't do baths and refused to discuss other projects such as deck. Waste of my time trying to communicate with them. False advertising.

Description of Work: Sam was responsive in all phases of the project. His crew was professional and fast. The job looks great and they did a very thorough clean up.

Description of Work: Re-roofing of a bay window; replacement of eaves.

Description of Work: Sam investigated and repaired a leak in our roof. We live in a 2 story colonial with a walk out basement. The leak was on the back of the house. He came alone, no help and handled his large heavy ladders easily to essentially get up 3 levels in the back. Discovered the plastic flashing around our plumbing vent pipe was cracked and visibly open. He filled the cracks and openings with a special roofing caulk. He also showed me before and after pictures on his iphone. Sam also followed up each time it rained until we could confirm that the leak was fixed. It poured today and no signs of water inside. All is well and dry.

Description of Work: Sam responded right away and came to the house quickly. Good estimate given verbally but with no written follow up.

Description of Work: An ice dam broke off from a gutter and punctured a hole in a lower roof about a foot long and 8 inches wide through the shingles and the roof boards. I had called three roofing companies and Sam was the only one who called back and did so repeatly until he reached me as he understood this was an emergency. He came out the next morning, a Saturday, and explained what he could do and when. I asked if he could come a little earlier than planned and he rearranged his crew and came earlier.

Description of Work: They arrived and started to work. Never having done a 'timed' service or 'Big Deal' before, I started a timer to see how accurate this might be. They placed and climbed a ladder and manually cleared some leaves from the front gutters. They mentioned ice, so clearing all of the leaves would have been very difficult without some sort of heat source to melt the ice. I offered them an extension cord if it might be needed for any kind of device that could help accomplish that task, but they 'were good'. Sam had come down to put on a leaf blower and went back up to clear the gutters with that, blowing them all over the yard (to be expected). I heard them go from roof to roof and heard the blower and saw little else (I was expecting a professional job so didn't feel that I needed to babysit them...and it was 28 degrees out there!) He offered no pictures to show me (as was reported by other members’ experiences) and I'm not sure how I can check his ‘work’…or lack, thereof. After they finished, he came to the front door and told me that it was all done, (jobs like this ‘usually take about 45 minutes’) and that things looked pretty good. He offered no written summary of how 'things looked' or details of possible work that might need to be done in the future. Our chimney looks like it needs to be re-pointed... but that's just our opinion and from the vantage point of our deck (several feet below). After his brief verbal 'report' and a couple of my questions answered briefly, I just closed the door and went to the phone.

Description of Work: They did two hours of roofing. They had to basically tack down a few shingles. There were also problems with the gutter. They also did some caulking at the point of the roof.

Description of Work: Minor repairs to a leak in the roof and re-alignment of some vinyl siding.

Description of Work: The house was leaning 9 inches due to foundation settling. Ferrimy Construction reframed both the interior and exterior of the house to level the floors and ceilings and bring it up to code. They also took down some walls to open up the floorplan. They replaced all of the siding and trim with new cedar clapboards and wide pine trim. They rebuilt the overhanging rakes which had been removed in the 1930s. They seamlessly blended the new roofing shingles with the older shingles. They rebuilt the front porch. They replaced all of the doors and windows with new Marvin windows (cost of the doors and windows themselves is not included in this report). All of the openings were reframed and flashed with copper flashing. Finally, they painted the entire house. The house had been previously gutted and stripped of all old siding beforehand and is not not included in this report.

Description of Work: This was one of these "get 2 hours of roof maintenance for $200" deals. Scheduling was easy, but they hardly spent 30 minutes on my roof. In particular, there was a leak that needed to be fixed. I found out on the next rainy day that it was not fixed, so I called them again. I really like that they came back as soon as I called to give it another shot, for free. Don't know yet if this time the leak problem has been fixed. The next heavy rain will tell .... Anyway, it was a real pleasure dealing with them.

Description of Work: We called this company because they were highly rated on Angie's list. We were very concerned about finding a reputable company and at a fair price. We knew the weather was about to get worse and we were desperate to find a roofer that could help us do some repairs on our roof, including the rubber flanges around our vents and cleaning our gutters before the snow and ice. We called and Sam answered his phone, must be his cell. He was very professional and responsive. He was willing to come out at our mutual convenience. I explained that we wanted to have an estimate, before and after pics...basically we wanted to make sure we were treated and charged fairly. Sam and his colleague confirmed the date and time they would be at our home. They called a few minutes before they arrived to explain they would be just a few minutes late. We appreciated the call since we were taking our child to the bus stop. They showed up on time and were quick to get started on the repairs and gutter cleaning. They estimated the work to be done and kept to their estimate although we realized they spent more time and did more repairs than originally planned but did not try to charge us more. Instead about half way through the repairs, Sam made a point to carefully explain where they were with the work, what needed to be completed and what they were going to do above and beyond related to our original request. The service and professionalism was exceptional. Sam did point out additional work that we could do to our chimney and future repairs that all seemed reasonable for next year. All of these were items I fully expected and did not feel any pressure from Sam to MUST do now. We feel we've been fortunate to find a contractor we trust and will definitely hire again. We highly recommend this company. They are everything you would look for; on time, honest, clean, thorough, go above and beyond and are fairly priced. Thank you Sam and thank you Angie's List.

Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for 2 hours of roof maintenance.

Description of Work: Ferrimy's G C Inc. arrived right on time. My house is a three family with lots of peaks and valleys so I'm sure that its a challenge for any roof company. Caulked all of the exposed nails on the shingles, cracks, and round the dormers, and replaced missing shingles that were blown away by the wind. Checked the flashing on the two new chimneys (rebuilt 6 years ago), which he will have to come back in the spring to replace or reseal.

Description of Work: Sam's company cleaned out the gutters and reattached a downspout that had fallen to the ground. In his own words he also: "lowered the lead flashing on the chimney, put silicone on some nails and flashing that were exposed on the back porch roof and inspected the entire roof." He also took photos which he sent to me along with his email report, showing me the moss and algae growing on the roof over the sunroom. In addition, he reported on the state of our shingles and fascia and the roof in general.
