Closed the hole but did not leave it presentable. Had to hire someone to neaten it up.

I answered many questions in the above review. Didn't realize there was a second paragraph to write.

I called to ask for an estimate for the work. Sam, the owner, sent out his employee, Minor, who took the measurements and told me I would hear from Sam with the estimate. After not hearing back for a week, I called Sam who apologized and told me he would send it in the next couple days. It did take more than a couple days, and I remember grumbling to myself, "here we go again..when will I find a good contractor?" I think it took another week when I received the estimate. I called Sam with a couple questions. I found him (as well as Minor) easy to communicate with and felt they were genuinely interested in making sure I was satisfied. Minor came with another employee about a week later to do the work. I was so pleased that I didn't have to go around and remind him of all the little details we had talked about. He remembered it all. It made me feel that he (they) are dedicated to doing quality work. Our house is old and the gutters of even the first floor are high enough off the ground that I never actually see them. I asked Minor if he noticed anything additional that needed repair because I felt that he wasn't going to just make something up. He told me about a place on our roof "returns" that he was concerned might be water damaged. He offered to go up, take a closer look and even take some photographs for me to look at. He sent me the photos electronically which showed that the roofing was very old and there was in fact a large hole in the roofing. I hired them again to come back and repair the returns. This second job went as smoothly as possible. I'm so happy that I now have a 'go to' company for siding/roofing/gutters.

Hurricane Sandy tore the flashing underneath the roof of our house. Sam returned my call promptly, visited the site, and provided an estimate within a day. The repair was scheduled and completed shortly afterwards. Sam was polite and very professional, while kept me updated on the repair schedule. The flashing looked great now. Very satisfied experience.

We reached out to Ferrimy Construction after reading all of these amazing reviews from other Angies List users. We hired them to put a new roof, gutters, soffit vents and a ridge vent in our home. The timing was extremely tight and Sam came through and did the project almost immediately. His crew came in and did a really top notch job. The reviews for Ferrimy Construction are right on, they do a great job and really seem to care about their customers and for the work that they do.

The team worked very efficiently. They arrived at 7:30am and began work around 8am. They were done removing the old roof by 9:30am. The team finished the whole roof by 4:30.

Sam provided a thorough estimate and suggestions on work that might need to be done. He also looked at the front-side shingles and suggested they had a lot of life left in them and it was not necessary to remove them for a few more years. They were on-time, cleaned up everything and overall did a fine job.

There was a computer glitch and he could not send me the estimate.

When we had some touch-up painting done earlier in the summer, we discovered that the fascia board on the back of our house was completely rotten (which is probably what had caused paint to peel so badly on the siding). Since the board is right under the gutter, we called a couple of people to see if they could tell us if there was a problem with the gutters that was making the fascia and siding rot. First guy: "You need $15,000 of roof work."(Roof is less than ten years old, and he would not price out an option for just fixing our specific problem, instead of addressing every possible inadequacy of the roof. I was literally in tears.) Second guy: "Your roof is fine for another five or ten years, but you need to replace the fascia board and, if you don't want it to happen again, install $2000 of gutter covers." Ferrimy also said the gutter was fine and that he just needed to replace the fascia board for us with a composite one that will not rot over time. He said that gutter covers would not prevent a problem like this from happening again (confirming my suspicion). When I said we wanted to go ahead with the job, he had a two-man crew at my house within 48 hours, and by all appearances they did fine work--removing and cleaning the gutter, replacing the fascia board, and reattaching the gutter in about 2 hours. I felt as if Sam was the only person honestly trying to fix our problem instead of selling us extra services. He and his foreman were both patient with my questions and very communicative. While replacing the fascia, the men also cleaned some debris off the roof that had been left there last fall by our gutter cleaners, who apparently just scooped everything out of the gutters and left it on the gently sloping roof to rot! The price seemed expensive to me for two men doing two hours of work, but I have no idea how much the (included) composite fascia cost, and home repairs always seem crazy expensive to me. Since Ferrimy was so nice to work with and was not trying to sell me extra work, I was happy to pay this price and would definitely call him for help in the future.

He was reasonable. Some of the others I called on the list never called me back but this guy called back. It was a little hard to communicate with him though he had a cell phone but when he came, he was responsible. I didn't rave about him but I thought he did a good job. The work he did seemed fine with a lot of communication because I'm not home a lot. It was a small job and he did it quickly. It's a big company but there was some language barrier.

I found Sam on Angie's List and called him to come out to look at putting a new roof on our garage (it's a free standing garage and currently is roof-less). He returned my call promptly and was able to come by the same day to take a look at the job - awesome! In looking at the garage job we got to talking about all the other things we want and need to to with the house so I had him look at a few other things, including the roof of the house itself. He took a quick look at it and immediately determined that part of it was in rough shape and basically said that we needed to put the garage on the back burner and prioritize the main house roof first, so that's what we did. He and I both got up on the roof so he could show me exactly what the issues were and he took all the information he needed and emailed me an estimate right away. We gave the go-ahead for the work and a few days later the crew was there first thing in the morning to get started - the foreman knocked on the door, introduced himself, asked if we had any questions and concerns, and gave us his cell number in case we needed to reach him while we were at work. By the end of the day, the area was cleaned up and all the work was done. They removed all the old shingles, resealed around the chimney and skylights, and put all new shingles on. They also repaired a few minor cracks on another level of the roof that was more newly replaced. There were a few pieces of siding that were rotting, so they replaced those too. All in all I was thoroughly impressed, and although we haven't had much rain lately, I'm not anticipating any issues. Sam is a great guy - really nice and genuinely wants to help - and someone I'll be calling again since we still have roof-less garage!

What I like best is that they're responsive on email and they are fairly priced. They're great!! We will absolutely use them in the future!! (Though, I really hope my house stays in good enough condition that I don't need to call them!!)

The job went well overall. Sam Ferrimy was very responsive, personable, and gave an initial estimate based on my description of the house, condition, and symptoms we were experiencing, with water leakage along the inside of the gutter lines. The work was assigned to a sub-crew, who were very prompt to respond and provide an assessment of the repairs and replacement work needed to be done. I especially appreciate the fact the work on the front of the house, including the flasnig replacement, was challenging as there is a 40 drop off to the ground from the roof. The work, not surprisingly, jumped in cost from the initial estimate from our first conversation, but not at all unreasonably. There was a couple of day gap between the first work visit to the return for the front of house work. It rained during those two days, and I noticed the rear gutters were still not completely fixed. I mentioned this to Sam, and the crew happily returned to the job to complete repairs. All in all, a good experience. I would recommend.

After I learned (the hard way) that I cannot take my AC out of my window alone, Sam was there to help me repair the damages! When I cracked through the bay window roof below, I was frantic to find someone to help repair the hole I made. Sam called me right back and had me text him pictures of the damage. He came over the next day to fill it with expandable foam so it would not let moisture in. Sam then investigated replacing the window cap, and he stayed in very regular communication with me. I don't work a job where I can wait for a phone call, and it was so quick and easy to get a text update from Sam. When we found out that we would have had to reorder the whole window, Sam came back and gave me an estimate to make a new cap out of metal. (Since upon break, we discovered the old one was metal painted plastic, this was great!) Within days of us touching base, he came back out and rebuilt the window cap and made a gorgeous metal cap to replace it. The work was done cleanly and quickly! When I came home, the only sign that he had been there was a gorgeous new window cap!I would definitely recommend Ferrimy construction to anyone. I was definitely in a panic when I broke the window, and Sam made the repair easy and hassle free- and at much less of a cost than I would have found for the metal work that he did. He even assured me that I could drop another AC on it and it would be fine! (I think I'll pass on testing that out though!)

The contractor offered a 10% off coupon. It did not state that it was not for repair work but new roofing which is what contractor said it was for. I asked the contractor to honor the coupon based on the fact that it did not state anywhere that it was just for new roofing and not repair work. Never heard back.

We were extremely pleased with the work, and are very happy with the result. The work was done by a large and professional crew, so that it only took a few days. The workers were very neat, and cleaned up around the house at the end of every work day. They were careful with the plantings around the house, so that no shrubs were damaged. The major cleanup at the end of the job was very thorough, and involved going around the house with a large magnet to pick up any nails that might have fallen during the work. The result is very attractive. While the roof is still new, there have been a few hard rains since it was installed, and there have been no leaks. This is not a small matter, because there are some difficult angles in the roof that have produced leaks in the past (although these were often due to ice dams, which we have not (yet) experienced this winter). Water is properly channeled into the gutters (not the case with the old flashing, where it sometimes sluiced up, under, and behind). We were delighted with the work overall. Sam Ferrimy made it clear throughout that our happiness with the job was of the utmost importance to him. When, as is usual in this sort of work, there were a few "punch list" items to be taken care of at the end of the job (painting the new siding, replacing a damaged screen for the skylight, etc.), they were finished off in a timely manner. While living through a few days of hammering is never pleasant, Sam and his crew were a delight to work with throughout the job, and I would be happy to recommend them.

I sent an e-mail through Angie's List and Sam contacted me within 24 hours, and he came to check the roof on the same day. He arrived (only) 10min late, but I later found that he actually even sent me an e-mail to tell me he was running late for 10 min. He checked the ceiling, attick and the roof from outside, and told me that the roof is in good condition and that he does not see any cracks. He said this type of roof should last around 20 years. He told me that the leak may be due to the condensation, and explained to me how the heat in the house gets vented out the house and how sometimes it creates condensation. He told me to keep eye on it, but he does not think the roof should be fixed or replaced. I was very happy with his detailed explanation and honest consultation. I felt bad that he came all the way to get no job, but we're sure we'll contact him if we have the "real" problem with roof.

Sam was very attentive from the start. I requested a quote the week of 12/11/11 and received it via email the next day (he was able to stop by my house even though I was at work). He mentioned that he had an opening the next week, so I hurried to get other quotes. The quote I got from Ferrimy was reasonable so on Tuesday afternoon, I booked them for Thursday. On the day of the job, the crew showed up at 7 am as promised. Sam stopped by mid-morning to show me the progress and explain what was being done. By 2 pm, the job was complete - including cleanup! All debris was removed and the affected parts of the yard were cleaner than when they started. I feel so relieved having been able to get everything taken care of in the span of a week. Sam and his team handled themselves professionally and provided a great product/service at a reasonable price with an unbelievably quick turnaround time.

He was knowledgeable. He came out and looked over the property and went up the roof. His price range was not the highest but it was far from high. His price was second lowest. He came when he said he would. It took him a day and a half for the work. It looks fine as it doesn’t leak. I would use them in the future.

Sam responded promptly to my initial inquiry and came out the same day (10/31) to look at our issue. Sam indicated he would e-mail me an estimate, but I have yet to receive one. I reached out twice via e-mail. To my e-mail sent on 11/3, I received a response saying that the estimate would be sent in 2 days. When I did not hear anything, I e-mailed again on 11/10. I have yet to receive a response to that e-mail.

Excellent. The work was flawless. The price was very good. The workers very dependable and courteous. I would definitely recommend Ferrimy construction.

I worked with Sam Ferrimy who was easy to work with and responsive. Two people from the company came to my house, explained the source of the problem I had experienced and we discussed potential solutions. They emailed a written proposal which included an attractive price, I accepted and they did the work when they said they would. I inspected it afterwards and noticed of all the pieces they had put up and weatherproofed, one piece was missing the weatherproofing seal. I sent a picture of it to Sam and they came the next day and fixed the situation. I rate them highly based on their responsiveness and promptness which is in short supply when looking for people in this line of work. The price was good as well. As mentioned above I did notice they had missed something but when hiring anyone for any job, it is common for things not to be perfect the first time and the question of professionalism is will they come back to address it.
