DP & Sons did a great job. They were not the lowest quote I got, but were the most responsive and professional. They even helped solve a issue with the water line's connection into the house.

D P & Sons was one of nine firms that are licensed in my town to excavate water lines, and one of only three that responded to requests for an estimate. They were the lowest bid, and I had word of mouth fomr a friend that they were dependable and reasonably trustworthy. They are a local family firm, and have done business in the area for 50 years. They arrived when they said they would (just about 8:00 AM). They performed the work in the course of a morning (as they said). Their excavator caused minimal damage to the surrounding landscaping and trees. (they had checked for clearances before) Due to the location of one leak, they needed to take apart a section of an unmortared retaining wall to get at one of the leaks; this was later put back together without apparent difference. After the first leak, they found a second leak further along the line, which they also repaired. The cost was very close to the estimate. Other than reseeding a section of lawn and the need to remove some large stones left on the surface, this has had no lasting effect. My only objection to the service rendered is that they did not discuss the second leak until after they had repaired it and filled in the excavation. At that point, I would have considered replacing the line, whcih we had discussed as an option (at a higher price).
