Doug did a great job. He was thorough and efficient and very friendly. I appreciated the fact that he explained things as he worked and he identified some safety issues I would not have recognized. He gave me quotes for several work options letting me decide how far to go today.

Quick identification of the source of the problem, Because 2 small wires remained unconnected to new recently replaced circuit board, the fix was easy, demonstrated, and completed quickly and fastidiously (as usual) with a friendly big smile.

The two man team arrived and quickly diagnosed the problems and provided a quote. Upon approval they estimated to have the work done by end of same day. They did complete by end of day and did a thorough job checking all circuits for operation and grounding.

Quite well. Both Liam and Anthony were professional, personable and thorough. Not only did they complete the task entirely to my satisfaction, they also did a thorough review of the house system (66 years old) with some excellent tips and information upon which I can follow up at my convenience.

I've used them for over ten years and they are a wonderful company. I have never had a problem and when something wasn't working which only happened once or twice in ten years they were back out quickly to resolve the issue. They do an excellent job. I will definitely recommend and absolutely use them, again.

Really disappointed in the professionalism and tactics of this business. I waited a few months to post a review to see if my impression would improve, but it definitely has not. They gave a quote for performing services that seemed too high, but I relied upon them for giving a fair price for the type of work and proposed time it would take them. I should have recognized the red flag of their pricing tactics when I asked how much one-line item in the quote would be to perform on its own. “Oh, I actually forgot to include that one-line item, but we’ll include it anyway”. Like they were doing me a huge favor in charging me at least 2x if not 3x more than what it should have been. I ended up having them do one other line-item that needed to be done. Two guys arrived around noon and left around 2pm, which includes the time for a walk-through and trip to a local supply store. On a side note, we later discovered that an HVAC vent was lifted off the 2nd floor ceiling/attic floor (which may or may not have been done during this work) so unconditioned high heat & humid attic air was being vented through the HVAC system rather than the conditioned air in the room below. If nothing else, the company staff could have given me a heads up about this vent when they were doing the work up there. Conversely, I had another contractor give me a heads-up about an issue during their work because A) it is the nice thing to do and B) in advising a homeowner about it, they avoid looking like the person that did it. Instead, this company staff proclaimed it was like that before we were up there and didn’t think it was their place to mention it. Also, it didn’t help that the plastic bags for the light encasements Tingley installed were strewn upon the attic floor, which was discovered upon tripping over them (and almost falling down the attic stair opening) while trying to identify why the vent was detached from the ceiling. Thankfully, I have found electricians that provide diligent work, reasonable prices, and clean up after themselves. Certainly no thanks to Angie’s List, which is a haven for over-priced, under-performing contractors. I am sure the company will reply with some ‘blah, blah, blah’ response, but don’t fall for their rating or tactics like I did. Contractors and homeowners need to have a certain level of trust between them when work is being performed. Unfortunately, I do not have any level of trust in Tingley or Angie’s list and will happily work with other sources and contractors.

Beware: Tingley charges and $89 fee to have someone come and provide a quote. We agreed to this thinking the pricing would be competitive but they were 3x - 5x more expensive than any other electrician we got quotes from!! When we inquired why the prices were so high with the technician he was standoffish and simply said that’s what they charge everyone. We sent him back without having him do any work!!!

Electricians and office staff were all very professional and courteous. The work was done the same day that we received the estimate. While the cost was much higher than expected, it was worth the comfort of knowing it was quality work.

Expensive but effective and professional

The men that came to our home were very professional and knowledgable. Spent time explaining work to be done. Left everything clean. We would recommend and will definitely use again.
