Explained the problem and made the repair as they explained how it would resolve the leak.

Started out well, then proved untrustworthy. We hired American Team Construction for 3 projects. The first and most urgent was related to roof/repair replacement as we had an active ceiling leak. The roof was a rubber roof under our deck and our condo has 4 in total. Luis and team inspected all 4, replaced the roofs and replaced the decks. At first, we were really pleased with them and their work. There were some hiccups along the way (they don't problem solve very well and we had to guide them a lot especially as it related to proper drainage of the roof) but we overlooked that because they were hard workers. We were eager to get started on our next 2 projects: replacing the flooring on a front porch and building a third room. We were clearly invested in them and giving them a lot of business/money. We had already agreed on pricing for all 3 projects, paid for the first project and gave a down-payment in advance of the porch project. But, suddenly, we couldn't get them to show up for the second project. My husband called and texted and it was one excuse after another. Finally, they said that they needed more money because the quote actually only covered materials not labor. This was not our agreement (the contract clearly stated parts and labor) and we had already given them a sizable deposit. When we couldn't come to an agreement, we said we were canceling the remainder of the work and wanted our deposit back. They agreed. That was a little over a months ago and despite multiple calls, texts and emails, we have not seen our deposit returned. We have spoken to Luis directly who agreed to personally deliver the check this weekend, but again, he did not follow through. I have never written a negative review, but I have no other recourse (other than legal, which will have to be our next step). We are really disappointed that it came to this. Despite doing good work initially, they ultimately tried to squeeze more money out of us under false pretenses and now won't return money that is rightfully ours. Be very careful if you choose to work with them. Review contracts closely and reiterate what is covered (though we did this, and it didn't help us). Update: They finally came and gave us the check but it wasn't for the complete amount.

They were very clean. Replacing a roof is SO messy! They did a great job of containing the mess and clean-up afterwards. My neighbor and his brother have had bad experiences with roofers. He told me he was very impressed with how fast and efficient these guys were.

American Term did a fantastic job replacing the trim which had fallen off during a recent storm. They were prompt, professional, and completed the job quickly. I would highly recommend this company for your exterior trim and siding needs.

Very nice and polite, but EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for the type of work done and the number of hours it took to complete. This nice and polite gentleman took advantage of a roof leak when it was snowing...Don't leaks typically happen when it's raining and snowing? Anyway, cost of material used could NOT have been more than $50-$100.00 tops. I am happy that he repaired the leaks, but so unhappy about the price...what can you do? I also asked him to give me an estimate for replacing the entire roof, but I never heard from him. I guess he was not even a roofer to begin with! Oh, well. At least, there are no more leaks. I am thankful for that.

Luis did a great job repairing some damaged siding and installing a chimney cap. I would definitely hire him again.

I used american team construction based on the online reviews and the ratings on home advisor. Luis came out and gave me the best quote by far. After some initial confusion with the start date for the project, Luis and his team came out to start work exactly per schedule. They work quickly and do a quality job with the roofing. Pros: 1) Good rate on the project 2) Quality workmanship 3) Works quickly Cons: 1) Language barrier given that they are bi-lingual 2) Difficult to get someone on the line when the season is busy 3) Don't get enough time to access what is being done. For e.g. since the closest match on my roof's shingle would need a special order he decided to use a readily available shingle color that was a bad match in my opinion. I've asked that they come back and fix it once I get the special order delivered but until then I have some patches of mismatched shingles on my roof. So far I believe that the quality of the work itself is good minus the cosmetic issues so I'm not all too concerned as long as they come back to address it.

Good work and willing to accommodate. Overall good experience and will hire again.

Needed trim work around exterior due to woodpecker damage and dry rot. They did great work. I would hire again.
