Lewis Drywall & Plaster

Jake came within 24 hours to give me the estimate. He had a very competitive price, came to work as agreed (had an emergency one morning and gave me plenty of notice then arrived two hours later). He did beautiful job- I loved the ceiling in particular. He cleaned up well and was out of here as promised. I have some smaller repair jobs (old house) I will be calling him for. Good help is hard to find so I have already told people about him. I have a great plumber, too, and pass his name on. Definitely recommend Jake for you.

Work was sloppy in a few areas. Many electrical outlets were plastered over and had to be fixed after some follow up. One area deteriorated within a few months and the contractor did not respond to requests to fix problem areas, even with multiple requests via phone message, texts and email. Willing to pay to fix problem area.

He and his crew did a wonderful job. They were very professional; and did a great job cleaning up. I was really glad I could count on them to get the work done fast and efficiently. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Jake was on time and always professional. He was so nice and friendly and was very honest and reasonable with his pricing. Jake showed up early in the morning and removed some pretty nasty "walls" and cleaned up shoddy workmanship on my condo walls and ceiling. He even went out to get insulation when we realized my walls had none. He then put up new drywall and plastered everything -- he was very meticulous and made sure the plaster was smooth and the edges were nice before leaving. He cleaned up everything and is even coming back to help me install the baseboards. I especially appreciate Jake's responsiveness, friendliness, and good nature. He is a very nice and honest person, which is nice to encounter! Thanks Jake!

Fantastic! Very punctual and stuck to his word. Did everything he said he would do and exceeded my expectations! Would definitely recommend him!

Overall he did a good job. There was one area he missed because of some miscommunication; he didn't realize I wanted drywall on that area. Came back a few days later to do that area for no additional charge. I would hire him again.

Working with Jake was great! Due to the holiday,he had to have supplies delivereda,and start work a day earlier than expected. I was still insulating, but Jake helped me finish up, which was very kind. He worked quickly,cleaned up very well, and did great work. He was also exceedingly polite and a pleasure to have in our home. We have a very old house that needs a lot of work and we will not hesitate to contact Jake for future jobs.

Jake and his son were very prompt, coming right out to inspect the job and provide a quote. They showed up when agreed upon, working quickly and efficiently, while keeping the area clean. The old ceiling was removed, and the new one in place with quality product. The finished texture looks fantastic. Very courteous and professional.

Well these guys are very unprofessional and rude. Seems like they are con artists because he first try to rip me of 600 dollars. The guy Paul did a bad finish on the sanding, that was the guy that Lewis provided. He didn't finish his job right, bad sanding, and bad corners that I can't even paint. I got to redo a good amount of work that he got paid for. He left me a pizza store phone number, and told me it was his number. He ran away with the money so watch out for these guys!!! Jake is the guy I met from Lewis drywall & Plaster, he is the sales man and he will get anybody to do you dirty.. Be careful people with this company they don't care about the customers it's all about the money not what you get for your money. Good luck

First he didn't show up in the three-hour window he gave me to come by for an estimate. Then the next day he emailed me that he would be there THAT night to give me the estimate (without acknowledging not showing the night before). I emailed him back that I was no longer interested. He showed up anyway, just as I was leaving with the family for dinner. So we let him in and he looked around, took some measurements, said he would send me the estimate. Two weeks later I emailed him asking when I could expect the estimate. No response. Strange way to run a business.

Jake's estimate was 75% higher than any other estimate I have gotten from similar contacts I made through Angie's List. I feel that he came out not to get a job but because I was from Angie's List. He found issues when the other people saw none. He more or less stated he was too busy to do this job and his price was much greater than other people.

Jake was a nice guy, responsive for the most part, and the price seemed fair to me. He got the work done in 1 day, and overall it was pretty good, although I think the corners could have been more crisp and there could have been less mess in the surrounding area. He had to take some trim off which he broke. He took something off the price for it, but I had to take care of it myself. It seems like he was just really busy with a lot of jobs, and he wanted to finish in one day and get him and his team back home. He did comment that the drive was a good distance from Bridgewater, which he should have known as he had already come out and quoted. All said, I would use Jake again and recommend him, as he seemed like a good guy and the price seemed fair. I would just try to better define the project in the beginning (we were a bit up in the air on how much would need to be done - it was water damage), and take a closer look at the corners and clean up than I did this time.

We researched the type of work needed to be done and then reached out to 4-5 companies locally. Lewis Drywall responded in a quick fashion and was out the next day to write up an estimate. Timing of the service was critical because of the phases and general contracting schedule that we had set up. Lewis Drywall was available and flexible in working with our timeframe and any adjustments in the timetable. They communicated the plan of action so there wasn't any questions about how the job would proceed. The crews were professional and respectful of the property. We would recommend them to other potential customers.

They gave us a quote, but when I asked them about the 10% discount they advertise through Angie's List, they said they wouldn't honor it.

It went well. They showed up when they said they would and the ceiling looks great. The workers were friendly and didn't leave until the job was completely finished.

Job Description: Installation of Gold Bond Sound Break5/8 board for one wall in the master bedroom. The sound board will be installed over ½? wood strips. Installation of 3/8 blue board, over the soundboard, with a smooth plastered finish. Lewis Drywall & Plaster will furnish all materials. Clean-up: -Lewis Drywall will remove all waste material, in connection with the above labor. - Lewis Drywall will cover all floors with USG floor covering. - Lewis Drywall will leave the entire house swept clean.

Jake quoted me and when I got back to him to book he noted that he had a cancellation in his schedule for a few days from then which I gladly accepted. He showed up early and the crew got to work fast. They covered the ground and the walkway to the room which was in the back of the house. They also placed so much plastic just to be safe. Jake opened up the walls where that the hot tub we removed used to be sitting and saw some water damage. We expected some but Jake was quick to let me know and he could have gauged me on price but told me what it would cost and what he will do and I was happy that he didn't charge me that much. The cut out the mold and sealed the wood near the mold to ensure that they got everything. He had to wait for the sealant to dry so he cleaned up and came back the next day only to setup again. He was great and the job is amazing. I just need a painter as good as him. I will use him again anytime.

Jake has been awesome. He came out on a Sunday for an estimate and he was right now time, early actually. He got the proposal to me when he said he would. He showed up early on a Saturday to do the work, which was an all day job and he showed up a few minutes early. He and his crew spent a long time putting up plastic between the work area and the rest of my living room so now excess dust went flying around, which was great. Jake was a pleasure to work with and I will definitely use him again and I can't recommend him enough. I was really in a bind trying to get my wall fixed and it was great to find someone who was willing to take on my time sensitive job.

Jake scheduled an appointment via email for Sunday 5/24 at noon to look at my living room damage and give me an estimate to repair. Not only did he not show up, he didn't even give me the courtesy of a phone call to let me know he couldn't make the appointment. Not very professional.
