Gary could not have been more helpful. He diagnosed the problem primarily as flying squirrels and set out to remove them from the house. He did not go the simple route by trying to poison or trap the animals as many would do but stopped the issue at the source. Gary sealed every crack and crevice around our house and roof and set escape hatches for the squirrels. Once out of the house they could not re-enter. As can be the case with these critters they are often hard to stop on the first try and it's hard to find every crack through which they are entering the home. Gary came back to the house numerous times and saw the job finished through to the end. Every time he was responsive and courteous. He will make sure he gets the job done. He really was a pleasure. I wish every contractor could be this way!

Gary was able to diagnose the problem before he even got to our house. He really knows a lot about all kinds of wildlife! When he arrived he confirmed that we had flying squirrels. Gary knew exactly how to go about getting rid of them in a way that was quick and effective. He provides a 2-year warranty on any future problem related to the flying squirrel removal. He also provided an assessment of other areas of our house that may be susceptible to mice, etc. He set some traps and sealed up areas of entry. He came back to our house multiple times to ensure that the pests were gone. We would definitely recommend Gary in the future.
Description of Work: We had a number of flying squirrels that had found their way into our attic. They were extremely loud - especially at night. We knew we had a significant problem and called Gary to figure out what was going on.

Gary was extremely friendly, professional, and punctual. He arrived when he said he would for the estimate on the work, and then when we hired him, he arrived promptly when he said he would. He was very professional and thorough. He plugged up all the holes and showed his clever system for getting bats OUT, in such a way that they can't get back IN. He was more expensive than a person who would just set traps, BUT he is not coming out 4x/year to remove and reset traps - he is coming out to secure any holes in the house so they can't get in in the first place. If I wanted traps set and emptied, I could do that, but I wanted something more robust and permanent. I'm extremely happy with the work that Gary did. I would use him again in a heartbeat, but I don't anticipate needing him again anytime soon (as in years and years).
Description of Work: Hi - I needed to get rid of mice and bats in our 100+ year old house. We have had a mouse problem for years, and have used traps to get rid of them. After the horrible winter 2 years ago, where everyone had ice dam damage, we repaired our roof this summer (finally) and added insulation, roof vents, etc. I wanted to make sure there were no critters, since we'd just had all that work done, so I looked on Angie's list, read reviews, and called Gary to come out for a quote. He looked over the foundation, in the basement, and then up in the attic. I showed him the piles of poop that the roofers had found, and he said it was bat guano, not mouse poop. I decided to go with Gary because he doesn't just set traps - he plugs up the problem areas so that critters can't get in anymore. That was the key part for me.

Gary saved the day when we heard squirrels scampering around in our attic. I called mid-week and he came out the next day to set up a one way door for the squirrels to exit out of an open soffit. Gary checked the trap daily until the squirrels were all out. I found him to be efficient, responsive and a true professional when it came to getting rid of unwanted wildlife.

We are thrilled that we found Gary! We talked to three different companies and Gary provided the most comprehensive approach at the best value. Bat exclusion for a good-sized home is not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Our home was a lot more work than Gary anticipated, but he spent the extra time to seal up every area of the house. We moved into the house in January and got a new roof put on in May. I'm pretty sure the house had been serviced before, but when you get a new roof then most of the areas that have been sealed are vulnerable again. Gary found evidence of bats in a lot of different areas around the house. He said if he were to guess that we may have 40 or 50 bats living in our house. Eeek! We have two children under the age of 3. Bat feces is not a joke. Although it was not something we budgeted, it had to be done. From what I have read online, Gary has the best approach to exclusion. He installs one-way doors and then comes back a few weeks later to take out the doors and seal everything up. I would highly recommend Gary. For those who have bats and are reading this, call Gary ASAP. You don't want bats hibernating in your house over the winter. I heard when the bats wake up they get disoriented and sometimes don't remember the way to get back out. They may find a way into your house and then all bets are off!

Gary is excellent. We have an old Victorian home that had a good sized bat colony, with plenty of holes/crevices for them to get in it. We would have as many as 15 bats annually since we moved into our home! Gary came with a helper and spent the day sealing up every hole and putting one-way doors in. The summer of 2015 is wrapping up, and I can't believe that we have had NO bats all season. I gave him a follow up phone call recently (per his request) and he came back to remove the one-way doors and seal them all up permanently (which honored his contract). He even told us to seal up one of our screens during the follow up. Gary really cares about solving your problem, making him a great contractor. Unlike Exterminators, he understands how animals/critters behave and knows how to keep them out of your home in a safe and benevolent manner. I never write reviews, but I had to recommend him. If you have an issue with animals give him a try. It will be worth it.

Gary arrived right on time and proceeded to inspect the areas we indicated. He was very thorough. He was extremely knowledgeable about animal behaviors, and was exceptionally good at determining which animals had gained access to our house. He is an excellent detective, in that he notices all the clues (torn shingles, footprints, fur, etc.) and is able to determine which animals (mouse, raccoon, bats) had come in and where they had gained access. He explained that raccoons can climb right up the side of the house and use gable vents for access; also that small animals, when scurrying around, can sound a lot like larger animals. He also gave us many practical suggestions about how to deal with this problem. We were impressed with Gary's professionalism, his knowledge, his demeanor, and his helpfulness. We would definitely use his service again.

I wanted someone who specialized in bats, not an exterminator, because I knew we had had bats living in the attic ceiling (for years). Finally it was time to evict them. He was responsive and knowledgeable, flexible about rescheduling due to the blizzards, came on time after the weather cleared, worked neatly and safely on the roof, and returned as promised to remove the tubes that were placed over the bat entrances. No bats were captured or killed. The entire 3 story house was surveyed for openings small enough that a bat can enter, and these are caulked, with the ones showing signs of active use covered by little one-way screened tubes that allow exit but not re-entry for the bats. They leave every night but can't get back in. Gary gives a 3 year warranty. I can't vouch for the effectiveness of his work until we know that bats don't return. But at this point I would recommend his services. I put N/A for price because I did not find other vendors I liked from whom to ask a price, and what he charged seemed appropriate for the time and risks involved (three visits, high ladders deployed all over the roof of a 4,000 sq ft house, and a three year warranty). I liked bats, and he does not harm them, but prevents them from getting back into the house.

Recently bought a home and found out there were bats or had been bats in the attic I called Gary to get a quote on what getting rid of them would entail and cost. He came out the next day and confirmed there were in fact bats still living there and that they had in fact been living there for many years. After sending me a quote I contacted him to let him know i wanted to proceed with the service. The following week (Monday) he put up bat vents that would allow the bats to fly out of the attic but not allow them to get back in to humanely evict them. On Saturday he and his crew showed up on time, put down plastic tarps to protect my floors and possessions. They used an upstairs window, closest to the attic entrance, to bring trash bags of full of ruined insulation outside and ran a vacuum pipe up into the attic so none of the debris was brought through my house. They worked continuously to get it all cleaned out and after hours of cleaning, vacuuming and sanitizing. He let me know some details about my attic and the removal and in talking with him i mentioned there was a dead bat in my basement and he happily removed that too. I was very happy with their services and how quickly he responded as well as his guarantee for the bat removal.

Gary was prompt and professional. We had this done while we were away from our home, and he was very thorough, and detailed in the repairs. He also noticed that the former measures and repairs done to the same location of our roof, had been done incorrectly, and he made the necessary changes. We had friends check on his work and we are very pleased with the results.

I was very satisfied. He came out the day after I spoke to him by phone. He came by every day over three days to check traps and then seal up openings. He was very knowledgeable and professional - he knew it was red squirrels after seeing the evidence. He explained everythng he was doing and why. It's been four months and I'm still squirrel-free. I would use him again and recommend him without reservation. It was worth every penny after nights lying awake listening to critters running around in the walls.

I must say we had a most pleasant experience with Gary, and his stellar ratings on Angie's List are well deserved! We just bought our house, and after a couple of months realized we had a raccoon nesting in one of our fireplaces (which we hadn't used yet). Relying on Angie's List we got in touch with Gary, who came out quickly and assessed the situation. He first placed a trap where the raccoon seemed to access the house most (front door, low roof, easy climb to chimney). Lo and behold, a raccoon was trapped the next morning! We called Gary, he came out as fast as he could. But when he was getting ready to take the nest out and opened the fireplace flute/flap(?) -- the mommy raccoon was still there! So in the trap we'd caught another raccoon, but not the mommy. He took the animal with him, and made arrangements to come back yet again. That time he got a second person along to help him shoo the mommy from the fireplace up & out the chimney and catch her there. Now, this time it turned out that the mommy had already emptied her nest and left on her own! She probably got too scared last time he'd opened the flap with her right there. Long story short: he came out for a total of three times, but ended charging us only half(!) the agreed upon price, because the raccoon had left on her own. That was obviously very nice of him. Plus he'd done the netting on the attic vent, also done very nicely. Thank you, Gary!

good - on time, polite, and very professional. There was an effort to sell more services such as Bat protection - 25 years in house we have yet to see a bat - and offer to clean out gutters - which needed it but the prices were a bit over the top. Excellent service although expensive - but on the other hand - there were about 4 visits to our property and that costs money, 3 year warrantee on the fix - If we had paid attention to this in the past we would not have needed so much work done - re date of last visit is a guess but since the form requires an exact date - I just randomly picked one - stupid thing to have on the form when asked about "approximate date" --
Description of Work: caught and removed squirrels in attic and cleaned out the nest. Installed one-way door to make sure no more juveniles remained in the attic. In addition repaired holes in attic and ridge vent to keep out future invasions by grey squirrels and flying squirels The original price was c $450 but we opted for repair of damage done by squirrels in the attic in the past and installation of measure to keep them out in the future. Supposed to return to make sure the one way door was not needed - not sure that happened but we are not hearing any noises in the attic.

we had had a raccoon infestation in the past (prior to our purchase of the house). the outside penetration had already been fixed, but there were areas in the attic where there was some remaining animal waste, boards and insulation damaged by animal urine, and lots of insulation that had been removed. gary came to the house, assessed the situation, gave us a price, then we scheduled the job and they came back and did the work. all interactions went smoothly. they price for the job seemed reasonable, although i went with gary not based on price but mostly because he seemed to know what he was doing and because of positive reviews here. the day they (gary and assistant) showed up for the work, they came with their truck and all supplies, tools, and materials that they needed to get the job done. they have an industrial-stength vacuum with a long hose that they can run in through the window of the house, so they don't have to stir up dust and blow stinky air in the house. they had special tools for removing floorboards attached (with old square nails that are very difficult to pull with conventional tools). they have an insulation-blowing machine (for cellulose insulation). they removed damaged floorboards in an under-eave attic area. they had to cut open the drywall ceiling in one spot to access one area. they had to squeeze into some tight spaces to get full access to all the damage. once they were done with they sprayed everything with a disinfecting and deodorizing chemical spray. they replaced all the missing insulation using both blown cellulose and fiberglass batts, installed new floorboard (plywood), and they repaired the area where they had to open up the drywall. they also replaced insulation in a few other nearby areas where it was missing or insufficient. overall, they did a very good job. all i really needed to do was let them in and they got right to work. they handled a hot, dirty, stinky job and did it with professionalism. they handled the job fully from end to end and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. equally significant was what they did not do: drag messy stuff through the house, play loud music, get walls or carpets dirty, blow dust and dirt into the rooms of the house, or raise a big stink. gary's price seemed quite reasonable. we were pleased with the amount and quality of the work we got done for the price we paid. gary's clearly has a lot of expertise dealing with all kinds of issues related to animal infestation. i had toyed with tackling this job myself, but now i'm glad i went with pro's. gary has the right tools, the right chemicals, the right protective equipment, and lots of experience. he got in, got the job done, and got out. in one (long) day of work. none of those would have been the case if i had tried to DIY this job.

Five years ago, we discovered that our new home was infested with mice. Despite using an exterminator several times, the problem persisted and became much worse following a renovation with an addition to our home. There were mice in our basement, attic, kitchen, and bathrooms. When the noise of mice in our walls kept us awake at night, we called Gary's Wildlife. During the inspection, Gary showed us three small openings in our home, where mice could enter easily. He explained that expert builders make sure that construction is waterproof, but there are often small gaps that allow mice to enter.. It was as if we had put out a welcome mat for mice in three areas of our home! Gary installed three turn-around devices to allow the mice inside our home to leave and to quickly discourage new mice from using existing entrances. After two weeks, he returned and removed the turn-around devices and patched up the holes with wire mesh to keep the mice out permanently. It cost $1,200 for Gary and his assistant to inspect every inch of the outside and inside of our home and to complete the work; and it was worth every penny! A few days after Gary patched up the three openings, we caught one final straggler in our basement and released the mouse outside. We had a one-year guarantee, but we never needed to call Gary again, because our home was quiet and free of mice. We were also pleased that Gary's solution was humane and did not require any toxic mouse bait, as we have two dogs. Having recently added another room to our home, we called Gary to check out the renovation. Although the addition is solidly built, Gary again found small gaps in construction, that will allow mice to enter. He also told us that the two new air conditioners with outside pipes should be sealed, as mice can nest in the pipes in winter. We signed on for $350 for the additional preventative work, which we know will give us the peace of mind we enjoy now that our home is mouse free.
Description of Work: comprehensive house inspection to determine extent of mouse infestation installed temporary turn-around devices at three points of entry on outside of home after two weeks to allow all mice indoors to leave, gaps on house were repaired to secure house instructed how to set live traps to removed any lingering mice humanely, as requested
