Two men showed up when they said they would, looked at the hole from the outside, and asked whether they could access the crawl space from our basement. We went to the basement, and they removed the access panel. One of the men borrowed our ladder, climbed up and looked in. From what he could see (some dried feces) he said there had been skunks in that space, but they had left at least a week ago. There were some boxes obscuring his line of vision, so he actually climbed all the way in, and wiggled himself all the way over to the side, to make sure nothing was there behind the boxes -- no living creatures were there. Then he came out and explained that they could still return. Therefore, they suggested that I fill the outside hole with gravel covered with cement. I no longer remember how much they charged, but it was very reasonable. They were very polite and professional. I got someone else to fill the hole as advised the same day, and the skunks have not returned.

We called Gary's because we noticed that some squirrels had chewed a giant hole in the side of our house by our second floor window and some birds had taken up residence in the hole as well. When he came out to give the estimate he told us that not only did we have birds and squirrels in the hole, but we had birds nesting under the shingles all around the house. We thought his estimate was a little high ($1250.00) so we had a few others come out and give estimates. Turns out that some of the other folks we called didn't even catch the birds nesting under the shingles (and thus gave a cheaper estimate), and those that did notice the bird under the shingles quoted a similar price, if not more. In the end we decided to go with Gary because he was observant enough to catch the whole problem, gave a reasonable price for the work provided, gave us a 2 year warranty (others gave a 1 year or charged extra for warranty) and patched up the holes with shingles without charging extra (though we had to provide the matching paint.) They spent a whole day setting up screens with one way doors over the big hole, removing nests and filling in the gaps under the trim so that the birds couldn't return. After a week the came back took down the screen over the large hole and patched it up with shingles. After everything was said and done the work looked great. They removed all the critters and you couldn't even tell where they patched everything up. So far, none of them have found their way back in the house so we consider it money well spent.

Rob and Gary himself showed up to do the work right on time. They worked quietly and methodically to seal up every possible entry point to my house. They used a variety of techniques to get the seal just right depending on the area. They even swept out my garage which at that point was full of mouse droppings so I didn't have to do it. I waited a while to write this report because mice are supposedly very active in the fall. It's almost October and so far so good. I haven't seen any further evidence of mice and certainly haven't heard their annoying scratching in the night! I truly appreciate Gary and Rob for their work and for giving me my piece of mind back. Gary's provides a one year guarantee too so I know that if I do have any further problems they will come back and deal with the issue. I highly recommend this company.
