Gallagher Appliance Repair

I had washed 2 heavy scatter rugs in my 30+ year old Whirlpool. Next time I used the washer, the water would not work to fill the machine. I called Gallagher Appliance Repair, and Chris Gallagher came to fix it.. I was very impressed with this young man and how he worked to track down the cause of the problem. He was also very personable and explained to me what he was doing. I enjoyed talking with him. He found the problem and fixed it. The machine worked. The charge was $90.00. Later when I went to use the machine, the water filled but drained right out. I called Chris and he told me that unfortunately it was the timer and he would have great difficulty finding parts because the machine was so old. I needed a new machine, and I asked him, in his experience, which was the best brand to purchase. I purchased that brand and was very happy with it. Chris refunded me $40.00 on that service call, and I was very happy with how it all worked out. I would most certainly call Chris at Gallagher Appliance Repair for all my needs, I have been stung before by others (before Angie's List) but my experience with him has caused me to have utmost confidence in his ability and his integrity.

Mr. Gallagher was very professional and knowledgeable about what needed to be fixed on the washer. He was very considerate of my time and my home. I felt very comfortable about having him in my home and would recommend him to anyone needing to have an appliance repaired.

When I called Christopher he responded very positively, thanked me for calling, and said that he could come to my house at about 1 pm on the same day. He later called to say he had to change the time to somewhere between 2 and 3 pm. At about 2:30 he called to let me know that he was on his way. He arrived at my house at about 2:45 with his tool bag in hand. Chris was very friendly and upbeat. He went straight to work; pulled the back plates off the refrigerator. After a few minutes he said, "Well I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that the compressor is failing and will probably last only a few more days. The good news is, since it would cost over $400.00 to put a replacement compressor in this unit, you really should be looking at buying a brand new refrigerator. In the long run this will actually be more economically sound than fixing your old one." Chis then went to explain how current refrigerators are much more efficient than the older models. He even went to far as to go online on his smartphone to try to price refrigerators similar to my old one. He was very thorough and offered options available at used and new outlets. He let me know that the price for his service call was $60.00 and that it is about half what other appliance repair shops charge to come to your home. I was pleased to pay the price for his expertise, honesty, and good advice. The main take away is that Chris Gallagher is honest, professional, experienced and, I believe, one who can be trusted to have his customers' best interests at heart. I recommend him enthusiastically.

This is my second repair using Chris. As before, he assessed the problem, ordered and picked up the part, and installed it successfully. The oven is functioning flawlessly! Chris provides excellent service!

Gary was exceptional in all areas. He made sure that my tenants would have a working oven to cook there Thanksgiving Dinner.I have hired him twice and I would hire him again. He definitely has high standards of workmanship.

Called Chris at 8:15 AM on a Saturday morning he responded and was at my house by 9:30 AM. After checking out the fridge which was running but not cooling he found the problem to be the circulating fan motor. He went after the part and came back and repaired the fridge. He responded to my call immediately, made the repairs as needed within a few hours, charged me a fair price and was professional in every manner. I will be calling him whenever I have a problem with appliances and would recommend him to others,

I called Chris on Tuesday to make an appointment for a repair on our washing machine, he said he was booked up for the day but could come over between 6 and 7 tonight or the next morning if that worked better for us, we had him come over that night ON TIME! He ran the fault code and found that the drain pump was the problem. He showed me how to take the pump apart to clean it out and then reinstalled it , we found that foreign material had damaged the pump so it needed to be replaced. Chris showed me how to remove the damaged pump and how to install a new pump myself and where to buy it he also said he could do the install if I preferred. I did the job myself the next day as the repair was relatively easy and saved some money. I feel that his attitude,guidance and professionalism made him a great choice for my repair needs and we would hire him again without hesitation We paid him $100 for the hour he spent trying to fix the washer and teaching me how to fix it myself

sock that had somehow gone past the lint screen and wrapped itself between the motor and the exhaust blower, melting part of the sock and laminating itself to that part of the dryer. Because of the way it had glued itself in, it took some real effort to remove the exhaust blower to get to the sock. After taking it out, he spent 10-15 minutes chiseling off pieces of melted sock that had adhered to the surface of the blower element because he said any imbalance would cause excessive vibration and noise. Once complete, he easily reassembled the dryer and it now runs like new. The cost was $60 for the visit plus $85 for labor, and the dryer is now running well. As he left, he said he was very confident that we wouldn't have further trouble, but that we should be alert for unusual sounds and/or smells, and we should call him if any occur, and he would order any required parts. While there, hanging upside down, he noticed that the exhaust vent had come off the back of the dryer. Before leaving, he ran the dryer enough to ensure (1) it was getting heat and (2) that the exhaust was coming out of the vent outside the house. All in all, I couldn't be more satisfied, and he will be our first choice in the future. He said he fixes all appliances except microwaves and audio-visual equipment (TVs, DVD, etc.).
