ANDOVER PLUMBING & HEATING

The plumber was on time and very professional. Cleaning out the sinks went well. They are working great now. However the toilet took a lot longer than we expected. It was no longer secured to the floor and would rock when you sat on it. It is fine now.

Spent several hours working on the situation. Very nice and professional, but it SEEMED they could have gone a little faster. Clogged toilet had a new plunger put in. Three weeks later the toilet clogged again. They came out a day later, but I had to fix it myself and they did not charge for reinspecting the work. Might use them again, but would not be our first choice in the future.

THIS GUY IS REALLY NICE AND DOES A GREAT JOB. I CALLED HIM AFTER I HAD ANOTHER COMPANY TELL ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW WATER HEATER FOR 1000.00 EVEN THOUGH MY CURRENT WAS ONLY A YEAR OLD AND STILL UNDER PARTS WARRANTY. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULDNT GET THE PARTS FOR IT. I CALLED GREG AND HE SAID THE PARTS WERE NOT A PROBLEM AND SENT SOMEONE OVER RIGHT AWAY. HE SAVED ME 900.00 WITH HIS HONESTY.

They were great. Very knowledgable, helpful, explained the process and took care of the problems.

We noticed water marks on our kitchen ceiling. After troubleshooting the issue, it was evident that our shower was the root cause. I found Andover Plumbing & Heating on Angie s List, called and left a message. They called me right back and I explained the situation. After explaining the steps I took to troubleshoot the issue, the gentleman I spoke to explained he felt it would most likely be the drain, but wouldn't know for sure until they came out. We agreed on a date and time, and Rick from Andover Plumbing arrived at the exact time we agreed on. After Rick assessed the issue, he was able to verify that it was, in fact, the drain. He explained that I had two options. One would cost a few hundred and the other $435. The first was to repair the damaged plastic drain with silicone, but that they would not be able to guarantee the work. The second was to replace the damaged drain with a brass one, and this they would be able to guarantee. Also, if I chose to replace the drain, they would have to cut a hole in my downstairs ceiling to do the work. The repair to the ceiling would be an additional cost on top of their work and I would obviously have to be done by another company. I chose the more expensive route since the work was guaranteed and I just wanted it fixed once and for all. Rick was professional, knew his stuff and was great about cleaning up after the work he performed. After giving it some thought, I chose the more expensive route. I appreciated that they presented the two options though. I felt they were honest, professional and did a great job! I will definitely use them for any future plumbing needs that I have!

It took the contractor a week to get back to us and at that time it was too expensive and we decided not to go forward.

From the time I called, they came, & finished the work in one hour. I had been waiting for another plumber from the appliance company & finally gave up on him. These folks were great, & cost me less than what the appliance company was charging me.

Andover Plumbing returned my call promptly, set a repair date/time that was convenient for me, showed up for the appointment on schedule, etc. The only complaint I have was that the repairman said it would cost more to run out and get a specific repair piece than for him to make the piece from the copper tubing he had in his truck. I said OK, but after he completed the work stated that he didn't warranty his work, because he had to fashion the part himself. I asked him what would happen if it started leaking tomorrow, and he claimed it would be out of warranty, but he didn't think that would happen. I've had good service from them before so I've decided to trust them. So far, so good........I just think that they should warranty their work, even if it is for a limited time.

There was some mix-up with regard to scheduling: I called on a Mon. and they graciously offered to come out the same day; I opted for Tues. instead but they never showed up. I called the following morning and turns out they'd scheduled me for Wed. Not a huge deal. The plumber showed up Wed. right on time (a little early). Everyone was very professional on the phone and quite flexible/willing to accommodate my schedule. The plumber was very nice. The quality of the work seems very good. He left the place spotless, even took away all the boxes/trash related to the new toilet and carted off the old toilet (for a reasonable fee). My only complaint is related to price: They charge $115/hour and the plumber certainly took his time; he was in no kind of hurry. I don't know much (or anything) about plumbing but I was surprised that it took 2.5 hours and almost $290 in labor (and this is a relatively new home). Ouch. Maybe that's right on. Or maybe there's a better deal out there to be had.

I left a message. They called me back the same day and scheduled the repair for 8:30 the next day. They showed up 15 min late. Cleaned up well and very good craftsmanship.

We called, they came, they did the job. There were no problems or unexpected issues. Overall it was a good experience.

Quick, did a nice clean job. I would definitely use them again. Not the cheapest, but they were quick and efficient.

Excellent experience. I called to place the service order, and they asked me whether I would provide the toilet or if I wanted them to. They ordered and picked up the toilet and will honor the warranty - all for the same price it would have cost me to purchase the toilet myself. Once the toilet arrive (within 48 hours), they called to schedule a service appointment that day! Two plumbers arrived as scheduled, and put foot covers on. They systematically tackled all the plumbing issues, and checked in with me to update me on progress and to clarify any issues. They were clean, well-groomed, articulate and cleaned up well after themselves. A truly customer-oriented business, honest, and professionalism. I will never use another plumbing service!

They came over within 15 or 20 minutes of my call. They were alright. Not expensive, but not cheap. They came right over and fixed it, it's hard to get that now. They did a good job.

Originally, we were calling to see if we could get a tankless water heater. They advised us against doing this because the water is so cold in New England. I was very relieved they gave us the heads up and they saved us at least $5000.

They arrived on time. They cleaned the burners. They also identified an input valve and two bleeder valves that were corroded and not working correctly, and replaced these. They cleaned up after they were done. I did not compare pricing with other companies, but the price seemed reasonable for the work performed. They do include a flat charge for travel time.

THEY PROPOSED A GOOD REPLACEMENT SYSTEM, AND WERE CONSCIENTIOUS ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES LIKE A LINED FUEL FEED SYSTEM. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK, NEAT, TIDY, AND HIGH-QUALITY. THEY WEREN'T THE LOW BID (HENCE THE "B" ON THE RATING FOR PRICE). BUT, THEY WERE THE BEST BID.

HERB TRIED TO FIX THE OLD UNIT, AND FOUND THE BEARING TO BE RUINED. HE SENT DENNIS, WITH A NEW UNIT, A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER. DENNIS GOT THE NEW UNIT INSTALLED AND WORKING QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY.

THE REVIEWS I READ ON ANGIE''S LIST PRIOR TO CALLING SEEMED TO INDICATE A $65 / HOUR RATE BUT THEY CHARGED ME $85 / HOUR. I HAD TO PAY THE FULL $85 EVEN THOUGH HE WAS THERE ONLY FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND PROMPT AND OVERALL I''M GLAD I CALLED THEM BUT I GUESS I WOULD RATHER HAVE FORKED OUT $65 THAN $85 IF I HAD A CHOICE.

THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM THAT OTHERS COULDN'T FIND. PROMPT & EFFICIENT.
