We called yesterday and the provider promised to call around 8 am the next morning. He was as good as his word, and said he would stop by between 2 and 4 pm. He arrived a little bit before 3, and was very professional in his demeanor. He knew immediately what was wrong with the oven, replaced the ignitor quickly. While he was working, he chatted amiably with my husband. I am truly impressed with this service and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I tried to set-up a window during which the repair guys could come by to fix my dryer about four days in advance. They committed to a day (WED), but prefered to call me the morning of and let me know the window. Since I work full-time and couldn't be home, my father took time out of his day to be there from 2 and 4, which is the window we were given. We called a few times during that window to check on the status of their arrival and we were told that the repair guy was stuck in Boston. He would get there as soon as he could. At 3:30, we called again and he said he'd be there within the hour. Eventually, that window came and went. My father stayed ANOTHER hour, (as if he doesn't have more important things to do with his time), and by 5, Dad called and told me he needed to leave. I called the company again and they said they were stuck in awful traffic in Boston. I'm sorry about traffic, but you need to plan accordingly. If you're doing work in Boston on Wednesday, don't commit to help someone in Medford on that same day. It's unrealistic. I'm really glad so many have had great experiences with Sherman, and the guys seemed nice enough on the phone, if not a bit frazzled from the volume of work (which is great for them!), but it's not OK to simply not make it to an appointment. What if I didn't have family to help me out and I'd taken a vacation day from work? I would have lost that day and still had a broken dryer at the end of it.

There was a bit of a rough start - an appointment had to be rescheduled due to the vendor's being unavailable when he said he would. However, once the vendor did show up, he and his assistant were friendly, professional, and thorough. The dryer was fixed relatively quickly, and there have been no further issues.

No ice. Big problem for me. Called this guy and told him the prob, he diagnosed it ,made appt for next day,then he said hey I'm going to be in lynnfield day after tomorrow, could we do it then? Ok, I've already got a bag of ice. NO SHOW NO CALL. I called him and left a message. He called back and said he was so busy that day he worked til 9pm and just couldn't get here. We set an appt which I had to cancel, then we set another and he came out. Don't worry he says I carry spare ice machines on the truck and proceeds to replace my old one.. Talks a bit more, apologizes for the no show tells me he's so busy he had to hire a guy. Hired the guy who does part time work for him. Gave him a nice bump from his $10/hr job at HDep. Anyway, next day no ice. I call him and he says huh and scheds an appt. the new guy arrives. Says new ice maker is fine, must be something else. AHA it's all this dust behind that air intake grill at the bottom, we' ll just vacuum that out and the freezer will get colder and then the ice machine will work.. Hey, what about that buck fifty he charged me for the ice machine I apparently didn't need? NewGuy says you'll have to talk to him about that. Uhuh. Great. Anyway, next day no ice call the boss again. He says must be something different. Huh. NewGuy comes back out and says old refrige must be running low on refrigerant gives it a goose. Says I needed a new ice maker anyway oh is that right? Why yes look right here where this coating has been scraped off that could be a real problem. Ice machine works. Never heard from them again.

He arrived when he stated. Took a look and explained what was the matter was. Then asked what I paid and how old the machine was. Then he stated it would coast about half what I paid for the machine to replace the part with labor and that may not be the problem as it could also be electrical. We took his advice and purchased a new machine. When I explained who recommended to buy a new machine, the sales person did not question me any further as he stated Sherman's knew what they were doing and had a very good reputation. I was very pleased and would highly recommend them to others.

Mr. Sherman showed up on time, checked out the dryer. Told us a part was needed. He came back a few days later with the part and fixed my dryer. No more annoying squeaky noise! The price was exactly as estimated. I'd definitely use him again.

The refrigerator was too warm, and the freezer too cool. Food was spoiling rapidly. Mr. Sherman responded to my call immediately and gave me the first appointment the next morning. So far so good. He called, as promised, 30 mins. before the appointment today. However, the service person working for Sherman was half an hour late. He did not call or even apologize for being late when he arrived. He seemed somewhat new at the work and it took quite a while for him to diagnose the problem. But he did so, replaced the part, and the frig does seem to be working fine so far. He also courteously answered my questions regarding how this part worked and what caused the problem. It was a very expensive job--40% of the cost of the frig--with the part being more than half of the cost. Since the frig is only 3 years old, this was an unpleasant surprise. The Angie's coupon helped. So I would say excellent in terms of quality, and responsiveness. But somewhat lacking in terms of punctuality and professionalism. Maybe A- overall?

Mr. Sherman arrived at the appointed time. He was very curteous and friendly He took a look at the dryer and determined that it was a simple fix since the fuse had blown out. Mr. Sherman had the spare part in his van and was able to replace it and the dryer was fixed. I was relieved because I was anticipating having to replace it and the washer (since they are opart of a stacking unit). Overall a very good experience.

Own a used fridge that had a problem, for years, keeping cool enough in the hot weather. In the fall, winter and spring there was no problem, but a recent mini heat wave brought the problem back. When the outdoor temps recovered, the fridge still could not regain 'normal' temp. Marc arrived and was told the situation. He seemed to think (as I) that it was a low refrigerant situation, and not a leak. He installed a tap and re-charged the unit. Has been working (much better) ever since.

I had a few appliance issues -- my disposal was leaking, my dryer didn't work, and my dishwasher handle was broken. I called Marc at Sherman's Appliance after reading the positive reviews and recommendations on Angie's List. Marc came when expected and quickly diagnosed the problems. Same-day repair was possible as he had a new disposal and the dryer heating element on his truck. The stackable washer and dryer is located in a closet in a narrow hallway making it difficult to maneuver the unit easily. Marc had to shimmy it out of the closet in order to replace the heating element located in the rear of the machine. This is no easy task given the limited amount of space he had to work in, but he did it and I now have a dryer that works well. He then replaced the leaking disposal with the new unit. He took the time necessary to diagnose, fix, replace and test all to ensure that everything was working well. He was professional, friendly, courteous and most knowledgeable. It will take a few days or so to replace the handle on my dishwasher as Marc has to order the part. I am more than confident that he will fix this problem just as skillfully. Marc's fees are reasonable, and I would call him again should I need his services in the future.

Mr. Sherman is very professional, friendly, and very good at what he does. He showed up when promised, and knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it. It was all done in less than an hour and with no mess or fuss. The next day when the machine acted funny again, I called Mr. Sheman, and left a messsage. He called back promptl and advised to check for a sock stuck in the tub. I found the sock, removed it and the machine runs perfectly now. He also advised me to use a lot less soap than the soap directions state to avoid having socks getting stuck in the future.

Marc came within the promised time window and called ahead just before arrival. He completed the jobs quickly and skillfully. He is knowledgeable and very pleasant and clearly enjoys his work. We will definitely call him again.

I decided to reach out to a couple of A rated folks on Angies list to try and get my tenants dishwasher repaired as quickly as possible. Sherman responded to my call promptly and after a short discussion on the draining issue we agreed upon a time for him to come by the following day and a fixed fee as long as no parts needed to be replaced (which he described as unlikely as the washer was only 3 years old). This is where things go wrong - He no showed the next day but did call that evening and asked to come the following day. Unfortunately the same thing happened the next day except he didn't call however I figured I give him the benefit of the doubt as he is A rated here and tried calling him. He said several appointments went late (it happens) and asked to setup an appointment for early next week. I agreed and blocked off time to meet him. However what happened next is when I decided there was no way I could give a great review. He show up at my house unannounced, no call or anything the next morning. This was on the Friday that Boston was in lockdown and the terrorists were having gun fights with the police north of Boston. What was he thinking? After I verified it was actually him at my door I ultimately decided to let him in a hope to just fix the issue for my tenant. It took him about 5 minutes to fix it, (just a clogged drain line) so I took out my check book to pay the man and he quoted me almost double what we agreed upon. I had even confirmed the price as I let him into my tenants unit. He eventually decided to include a "Angies List Discount" which was still more than we agreed upon 4 minutes earlier but at this point I just wanted him out of the home. He kept bragging about how he's due a Angies List Service Award while he was working on clearing the line. Not very likely...

Mr Sherman was very professional. Our washing machine would come on but not do anything. He inspected it and determined the belt was loose,he informed us that that rather than replacing the belt or buying a new one that tightening the belt would give us some time to decide on replacing it. It is almost 25 years old. I appreciated the honesty that spending the extra money on replacing the belt would not ensure the longevity of the machine. i would highly recommend him for any appliance repair

The front right burner on the kitchen stove wasn't igniting. Called Sherman's Appliance on a Saturday. He thought that it may just need to be cleaned. We decided that he would call me on Monday and set a time to come over. I ended up calling him on the Monday and we scheduled an appointment. Turns out that it was a small thing. There was a pin size hole on the burner that needed to be cleaned out. He did that and the burner ignited no problem. 10 minutes later he was on his way. Later on that day I went to use the stove for the first time since the cleaning and the burner wouldn't ignite again. I called Sherman's and he recommended that I clean the pin hole again. If that didn't work he would come by. It did work. However, I was disappointed that the very next time I went to use the stove the same thing happened and I ended up cleaning it myself. That's the reason for the lower ratings.

I called marc because he received the super service award from Angie's List. I called on a Thursday, and he came the next day. Marc was on time and diagnosed the problem right away. There was ice accumulating in a tube in the freezer, causing all food in the fridge to freeze. He used vapor to melt the ice, removed all debris, cleaned and serviced my fridge quickly and efficiently. Marc is a friendly, professional person, and the price was very fair. I would highly recommend Marc, and would definitely call him again if I need any services in the future.

Mark came the next day. He cleaned our washing machine and removed debris from the pump. He also gave helpful recommendations on how can we treat our washing machine better.

Owner answered himself and was extremely helpful - explained how to get service under warranty for the washer, quoted a price for the dishwasher ('happens all the time'), and gave me a much less costly alternative since the part is expensive. Saved me a few hundred dollars with a 5 minute call - would hire this guy in a second, next time something breaks...

A couple of weeks ago my dishwasher stopped working. I looked up names on Angie's List and found that he had the super service award. I called him on Thursday March 7. We agreed that he would come Tuesday March 12th. He called me in the morning to let me know what time he would be here. He was on time. I explained to what happened and he then started the diagnosis process to determine what was wrong with the dishwasher. He looked at the circuit boards and found that one part had a screw missing. He was going to call to find out how much parts would cost but decided to shut the door and start it. It begin working. He stayed for a bit to make sure that it continued working which it did. He thinks that by opeing up the panel where the circuit board is and cleaning it up the dishwasher was then able to cycle through the different sequences. He was great , very honest and upfront about the dishwasher. I asked for his card because I would definitely call him again for my other appliance issues

The diswasher was dead in the water. So to speak. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and cost effective in repairing the appliance and making sure it was running effectively before he left. I am a landlord with multiple apartments and will make Mike my first call in the future.

He was very prompt, courteous, and helpful. I really liked him and kept his card, so I will definitely call him back.

He came when he said - within a reasonable number of days but I don't remember exactly. He diagnosed the problems and left to get a part. He came back quickly and fixed the problems.

I called Marc Sherman since he had previously worked on two of our large appliances. I called him on Monday morning and we made arrangements for him to come and repair the dishwasher on Tuesday morning. He said he would be at our house between 9:15-9:30. I received a call around 9:00, telling me that he was on his way and he arrived about fifteen minutes later. Marc quickly diagnosed the problem with the dishwasher and repaired the wiring at the power base. Since this was the second time this was an issue with our dishwasher he inquired about the electrical wiring in our home. He asked if we had a problem with lights dimming or light bulbs quickly burning out in the kitchen. We discussed the electrical situation in our kitchen and he recommended that we have an electrician inspect how the house is wired and if that is the cause of our issues with the large appliances in our kitchen. My husband and I were pleased that Marc took the time to consider and discuss why this was a repeat issue and not just put a "patch" on what may be a larger issue in our home. Once again, we had a great experience using Sherman's Appliance.

I found Marc Sherman using Angie's List when my Dryer started making really loud screeching noises. Marc was quick to set up an appointment and arrived within the time window he provided. He was very nice, professional, and clearly experienced and knowledgeable. My dryer ended up having to be completely taken apart.. .since the roller under the drum had moved out of place and it was causing the noise. Marc took his time, and cleaned the lint out of everything before he reassembled and tested it out. Bonus- he was super nice and had a great sense of humor! I would definitely recommend Marc Sherman's Appliance Repair Services.
